Chapter 17

I do not own The Avengers in any way.

A/N-Welcome to the last chapter of "Daddy's Blunt Little Instrument". The sequel to this will take place during Winter Soldier. It will be a few months before I put it up. It'll be called, "Bullet in Her Daddy's Gun". I know a lot of people were saying that Steve didn't handle the situation correctly, but Steve doesn't know anything about women.

Steve hadn't heard from Madison in two months. And he really wanted to see her before he left.

Apparently Madison had told her father what had happened, because Steve got a black eye because of it.

He tried explaining what happened, but Clint wouldn't hear it.

The only person that would tell him about her was Natasha. The spy kept him up to date with what was happening with Madison.

Madison was going to school online to finish her GED. After that, she was going to get a college degree in criminal justice.

"Following in her father's footsteps", Steve said.

"Not quite. Clint never got a college degree", Natasha said, "I'll try to convince her to see you off, but I don't make any promises".

"Thank you Natasha. I just want to see her one last time", Steve told her.

Natasha went over the apartment that night.

"Natasha!" Madison yelled hugging her.

"Hey, sorry I haven't been by lately", she said.

"That's okay. Daddy calls me every day and tells me about what you've been doing", Madison said.

"I talked to Steve today", Natasha said.

At Steve's name, Madison froze.

"He's leaving soon and he said he'd like to see you one last time", Natasha told her.

Madison's eyes filled with tears and she started crying.

Natasha took the young girl in her arms.

"I miss him Tasha. So much", Madison told her.

"You still love him?" Natasha asked. Madison simply nodded.

"Then you should be there", Natasha said.

A couple of days later, Steve stood on helicopter pad. He prayed that Natasha had convinced Madison to come.

"Cap, it's time to go", Fury told him.

"Just a few more minutes", Steve said. She'll be here, Steve thought. After 5 minutes, Steve sighed.

Maybe she wasn't coming after all.

He turned to the jet. "Wait!" he heard her voice yell. He turned and was tackled by Madison. "I'm sorry", he told her.

She grabbed his face and kissed him.

Steve slipped his fingers into her hair holding her to him.

Madison pulled away and stepped back.

"I'm still mad at you. This doesn't change anything", she told him, "Don't contact me until I'm ready to talk to you again".

He pulled out a small box and placed it in her hand.

She opened it and found a small necklace with a pendant.

The pendant was his shield.

Madison stared at the necklace.

"I love you Madison Barton", Steve told her. He kissed her head and walked onto the jet.

Natasha stepped forward and hugged Madison. "I'll see you in a couple of weeks", she said and got on the jet too.

Madison stood there with her father and watched the jet take off.

When they returned home, Madison went to her room. She put the box with the necklace in her jewelry case and didn't think about it again.

*5 months later*

"Okay", Madison said through her phone.

It had been 5 months since Steve had left and Madison was adjusting to her life without him.

Natasha called her every day to talk.

"Madison, you'd better be home on time", Clint said.

"That's funny. I'm in Manhattan and it's lunchtime. By the time I'm done, it'll be 5. Then it will be rush hour", Madison told him.

Clint sighed and said, "Fine. Get home as soon as you can".

"Okay", she said, "Also…"

Madison was knocked off her feet and onto the back. She opened her eyes and found a boy on top of her.

They both blushed.

"I'm so sorry", he said. He got off of her and helped her up.

"It's okay", she said, looking at her cracked phone screen.

"I'm sorry about that. I can fix that for you", he said.

"No. It's fine. I need a new one anyway", she said.

"I'm Peter. Peter Parker", he said holding out his hand.

"Madison Barton", she said shaking it.
