I stared at the hedgehog that walked in, heading to our spot, everyone having their eyes on him…
Was this the same guy Tails and Silver was chatting about earlier?
This guy that hooked up with Amy?
Obviously so,
"Hey Shads," Silver was the first to speak from the silence, "What's up with you?"
Blaze narrowed her eyebrows, "I thought you were supposed to be at that interview with…you know…"
The ebony hedgehog made his way to where I was sitting, starring me down,
As his eyes was on me, my eyes daggered away quickly to the floor. I thought to myself, if I did something wrong. Maybe I was sitting in his seat?
"Shadow?" The sweet voice that belonged to Amy asked confused, "What happened?"
"Who's this kid?" A gruff voice asked in demand.
"Oh! Um! This is Sonic, a new student here!" Miles accounted cheerfully, not minding his attitude.
I felt his eyes never coming off of me, "Okay…?"
"And…he's here because we invited him," Amy answered next, voice still being sweet.
I looked at her direction, catching Shadow doing the same thing. His expression seemed to soften up a bit, but not completely. "So…why is he sitting where I'm always seated?"
"Because Sonic wanted to!" Blaze quickly chimed in, ears shot up in defense.
Wow, I think this was the first time I've heard her say my name!
Cream patted Blaze's shoulder, "Let's listen to peace! Peace is good, not bad."
The wishes from the bunny were ignored with Shadow still shooting back, "Just because he wanted to, huh?" He gave a quick glance at me and snuck a smirk, "I suppose since I'm here now, I will want my seat back!"
"What!" Silver exclaimed, "You weren't supposed to be here, even!"
"I don't take no for an answer."
That move I made next… well let's just say I regretted getting in, "No one said no though, they were just explaining why."
This Shadow guy shot a nasty expression toward me, ready to sucker punch me in the face. "Did you just speak to me?"
Uh oh,
"Y-yes?"
"Shadow! Quit acting like you own everything!" Blaze defended, "besides…we already have Cosmo doing it, so…"
"Hey!"
Shadow quickly objected, "I don't! I just don't agree with this guy coming in, new as he is, and playing victim to a situation he has begun!"
"Dude, you began this. Not him at all." Silver said. The two of them gave glares at each other for a couple of seconds. Afterwards, Shadow stepped away from me and headed to Amy. He gave- and believe me when I tell you- a soft smile.
A soft smile,
Smile.
Amy must be, like, a love magnet or a best friend to this guy in order to make him do that.
Amy smiled genuine at him as he gestured his hand to her, "To get to the brighter side of my day, Rose, I should tell you to come with me."
"Me? How come?"
His voice lowered to an almost whisper, "I don't feel comfortable telling you in front of…" Shadow scanned all of our looks, "…this audience here…"
"Oh brother…" Blaze rolled her eyes,
"What does that mean?" Cosmo took that to offense,
While Amy took his hand, she only gave it a squeeze, "Come on now, Shady, these are our friends—"
"Your friends-"
"Our friends,"
"No, Amy, Your friend! There is no 'our' anything!" Blaze cut in, "No one here, but you, is this jerks' friend!"
There was quietness. Everyone was still. All eyes on the couple(?) holding hands. Nobody said a word, not to Amy or Shadow. I could almost feel the embarrassment the pink girl was feeling, as sudden sadness fell to her face. Silver was nodding in agreement to what Blaze said, Cosmo seemed cheerless then what I usually saw her, Cream was just fiddling with her thumbs, and Miles took a peak at me and back at Amy.
And Blaze- you already know.
Finally words spelt out, Amy's face still saddened, "Pardon?"
"You heard, everyone doesn't appreciate his blunts at us all!" Silver hissed, "Maybe you can deal with him, but we sure can't—"
"And we won't." Cosmo joined in, then blushing, "I-if that's okay with y-you…"
Shadow stood emotionless, not giving a glance to us. Amy took a moment to study our faces, one by one, before stuttering, "O-oh…okay. Okay b-by me then!" And with that, continuing to hold Shadow's hand, she got up and headed to the exit, practically dragging Shadow behind.
"Maybe we were too harsh?" Miles twitched his ear with a worried look. Cosmo bit her fingers, "I shouldn't have joined in! I shouldn't have! I should have kept quiet like I always do!"
"Oh will you guys get a grip, I mean really," Blaze stood up and stared at us, "It's not good to hold your emotions in. We had to tell them sooner or later!"
"I-I guess…but we could have told them better than that," Cream quivered her bottom lip, "But now look, Amy's mad at us! Me! And I did nothing!"
"She'll get over it soon."
"I don't care!"
I took the liberty of getting in the conversation again, though I didn't know what to say to what just occurred. I felt all of this was my fault somehow, and I just sitting back and relaxing without defending anyone here wasn't right. "Hey…look I'm sorry for causing this mess…"
"It wasn't your wrong doing, Sonic." Blaze huffed out, "No one saw this coming, especially not you. This happens sometimes though; us arguing, someone storming away, yadda-yadda."
Silver groaned, "You'll…you'll get used to it."
"That's the problem here, guys," I stood up next to Blaze, "This isn't good—"I faced the cat, "—You just said a minute ago that holding your emotions isn't good. Well, so is fighting!"
I should not be the one to talk…
"Are you telling us we should apologize?" Silver questioned, confused.
"Are you telling them they should apologize?" Cream rearranged the statement, "Remember, I have nothing to do with this…"
"Whatever! Yes, that's what I'm saying!"
"Unless they come back to us, I don't think that'll happen." Cosmo shrugged.
"Hmm? Why?" I asked.
"Because, once Amy Rose walks out, she stays away from us, or anyone, like the whole day."
"Well…uh…that's a bit…"
Blaze forced a grin, "Senseless, childish, etc? Yeah."
But I was still curious, "I don't understand. Why does she act like that though?"
"It's not meant for you to understand!" Cream sprung up and playfully punched my arm, "Let's just get out of here; I need to get back to my room to finish an essay due tomorrow!"
"Ah, sure." Miles shook his head, "Or maybe you're going to watch more of your soap operas."
"I promise, I won't until I get my work done first,"
"Cream! Crying out loud, you recited the same song on Tuesday. It's Thursday, and you still haven't gotten one word written." Blaze flicked the rabbit's tuff of hair back, away from her eyes.
"…"
"Stop it Blaze!" Silver played a serious face on, "Cream probably did start with a word; 'The' ".
"Or better yet, the date from 2 days ago…"
"Ha! Nice one…but I forgot how to laugh." Cream stuck her tongue out and headed toward the doorway.
"I should get you set up with your room, and all." Miles got up and walked with me to the exit, followed by Blaze, Silver and Cosmo.

When we got outside, we stood still, observing the outside world for once today. The breeze felt a bit cooler than before, and the sky has gotten darker quick. I saw groups of students heading their way past the university and to the dorm building.
"So tired…the quicker we get inside the better. Maybe we can stop standing here and walk?" Silver suggested. We all chuckled and began our walk,
Just as on cue, I spot Amy heading our way with…him.
"Trouble alert, Trouble alert." I hear one of them whisper as they came closer.
When they finally got close to us, I was sure she was going to apologize. That sure didn't happen! The two of them just walked passed us and didn't even glance back.
"I knew it! She's just going to ignore us!"
"What were you expecting? Of course."
"Whatever, let's go…"
I just kept my eyes on her the whole time, like a creep. And suddenly I felt something that I usually felt when a girl broke up with me,
Hurt.
I didn't know why, but the feeling stirred in me like…if we had dated for a day and then broke up with a fight.
Or probably it was because I saw her walking away with that Shadow person, who didn't like me in the first place, but since she knew him first she stuck by his side instead of taking up for me…
Not that I needed a girl to! Just saying…
"Come on, dude! Stop lollygagging and let's go!" Silver's voice rung to my ears. I gave my attention to the group and realized I was waaaay behind them and had to catch up,
"Hold up, I'm on my way!"

Well, I did it! I finally got all of my papers, my mailbox number, and room key!
Including my schedule,
Everyone decided to come along with Miles and I to receive my things. Hey, I didn't mind, it'll make it easier to find out just who I'll be with in what period of class.
Everyone wanted me to sign up for classes at the same times where they have their classes. So I let them do it for me.
"This is great! We're defiantly going to have our fun together!" Cream said excitedly.
Blaze gave a doubtful look, "We don't have to have all classes together…then we'll have nothing to talk about, you know?"
"You're right," Cosmo nodded and crossed out English from the afternoon slot.
Silver exclaimed in worry, "No! Cross out the algebra from the morning one…Sonic will be with me!"
"I… think I'm offended?"
"Sorry! But too much of my friends like to copy my work and crap," He squinted at Cream, "So I don't know about you. You look like the dumb jock type anyway."
"What—Silver!" Miles gasped.
"Sorry! Sorry!"
We all rolled our eyes.
"Listen, we're keeping everything the same, got it?" Miles gently pulled the pen out of Cosmo's grip- aw, how adorable- and placed it back on the desk. "We'll give this to the dean later. Right now I want you to settle in your room."
Cosmo's cheeks turned pink, "You're right, you boys should head over to his room now,"
"Wait, what number do you have on your key, Sonic?" Blaze asked.
"Good question, I never got the chance to check…" I opened up the envelope where I stuffed everything in and dug for the key. "It should be…" I felt the key and got it out, "…Room 107."
"Room 107?! Please tell me you're serious?" Miles squealed and took the key from me, "That's my room, Sonic!"
"Really?" I felt my face forming a smile all of a sudden, "That's cool that I'll know at least one person as my roommate."
"Lucky you," Silver didn't look too happy. "No Shadowy figure in your room…"

"Good afternoon Knuckles!" Miles greeted. I followed behind him.
"Sup, Smiley," The red echidna nodded his head as he took his earphones off and looked at me next, "Guest?"
"It's Tails! And no, he's our new roommate."
"Ah," He chuckled a bit, "Got kicked out of your old one?"
"No I'm new around here actually,"
"What? No luggage?"
"Um…I don't wear much, or anything for that matter. So…I'll just buy anything I find out there that I'll need. No problem."
"I see. Anyways, welcome to the dorm room, pal." The echidna was getting ready to put the headphones on again.
"Hello!" Miles said.
"What now?!"
"Manners. You forgot to say your name,"
"Oh…right…I'm very sowry," The echidna mocked. He was still holding onto his headphones, "Name is Knuckles. You?
"Sonic." I simply said.
"Cool. Am I done here?" Knuckles was getting impatient.
Miles sighed, "You're just as bad as Shadow…"
"And you're just too nice-ass, like Rascal!"
"Who's Rascal?" I asked.
Miles turned to me and smiled again, "Rascal is a super nice guy. A confident wolf, and he moved here from the arctic!"
Knuckles had let go of his headphones by then, "Let me describe this in a different way; Rascal is a baby-pink arctic wolf, who likes to wear a fashioned checkered scarf all the time and a red beret! He'll talk with sass toward you and—"
"You're making him seem like he's weird for being himself," Miles interrupted, "Why do you keep doing that?"
It took me a while to know what Knuckles was getting at. "Okay, so basically he's…homosexual?"
"Bingo! But I prefer the other term…"
Miles yanked the headphones away from Knuckles and faced him, eye to eye, "I dealt with a lot of things from you, but you will not disrespect any of my friends!"
Both of them had a short stare down until Knuckles snatched the item back from Miles, not saying another word to any of us. He put his headphones back on once again, now blasting his music up. Miles faced me and shook his head in disbelief, "You're going to have to ignore him at times, or you'll end up getting in a serious issue with him one day!"
"Heh. I can see. He acts just like his name; a Knucklehead,"
That made Miles perk a tiny grin, "Good one…" His eyes searched the room, falling on the beds, "I guess you take the one next to the window?"
I gave a thumb up, "Sound good to me!"

This chapter was written within an hour and a half—A new record!
Anyways, hope you liked this chapter, and hopefully by tomorrow I can stir up another quick one. Not too quickly, otherwise it won't be right!
And... I finally got some of the characters' traits in the bag. Cream's was difficult, however, so I had to shuffle hers between innocent and irresponsible, who doesn't like taking the blame for no one. She's Amy's right-hand girl. I'm currently thinking about Rouge's since she hasn't been introduced yet, but she will be next time.
Also this new character, Rascal, is indeed homosexual. I imagine him to be the sweetest character in this story who's a bit soft-spoken. I won't bother putting his whole description in here, so if you'll like to know more about Rascal, feel free to PM me about him, or any questions about the story. :)
He will probably be the only OC here, but I'll definitely take suggestions for the future just in case! :)
I won't be entirely focusing on, in the story, Sonic and his friends being in their classes much. If I do, it will most likely be a filler chapter, but it'll still take place on campus for them. Remember, this story is mostly about Amy relationship being betrayed and all... So this story will soon switch to Amy's POV. You'll know when! c;
