Chapter 21
A/N: I am made of broken promises. I am so sorry it has taken me so long to update and this is all I've got. Why did I think I'd have more time after college? Foolish girl! Sorry, guys. I've been working. I gotta make a living. Anyway, here's chapter 21.
Raven POV
"Was it that bad?" Cassie asks me as I wretch into a toilet.
I groan and wipe my mouth. She hands me a can of soda which I use to get the taste of vomit out of mouth.
"It wasn't bad" I say slowly fighting the smile that I could feel crawling to emerge.
"So you're puking because…"
"I'm puking because I'm a horrible person! I broke up with Wally yesterday and I just kissed Robin!"
Cassie shrugs, "Hey, at least you're not technically cheating"
I can't do anything but groan more.
I turn to Cassie who I know is cutting class, but this time I can't blame her coz I'm cutting class too.
I turned my attention to the door.
"Should we hide in the stalls?" I ask Cassie. I don't want to get caught but I can't bring myself to go to class.
"No, we should ditch." Cassie stands on the trash can and I rush to hold her calves to keep her steady.
She props open the little window in the bathroom and jumps down.
"You first" She tell me holding out her hand so I can climb atop the trash can. I push down a cringe. Who knows what has touched this trash can lid. I wiggle out and am grossed out by the thick layer of dust around the window that now leaves marks on my white polo shirt.
Cassie slips through the window effortlessly as if she's been doing it a lot…which come to think of it, she probably has.
"Okay, let's go" she says pulling me by the sleeve.
"Go where?"
She gives me a funny look, "Off campus"
"No! Cassie I'm only cutting second period. I want to at least go back to third period after I feel better"
Cassie crosses her arms and looks at me with a raised eyebrow.
"You expect to resolve your mixed feelings of joy for kissing Robin and guilt for hurting Wally in an hour?"
"An hour and a half" I clarify
"Uh, yeah…that's not happening" Cassie says before dragging me off.
I sputter and dig my heels on campus grounds.
"Cassie! Mr. Pierce saw me for first period! The school will know I cut classes! Stop! I have to go back to class. They'll forgive me if I go back!"
"Raven!" Cassie spins around to look at me. She's practically nose to nose with me when she speaks slowly as if to a small child.
"All your thoughts will go to what you've just done. You took initiative and you did it wrong. You stole a kiss. You didn't talk to Robin. You jumped him. I bet you money right now he's going to be looking to talk to you. He knows your classes. He'll find you. What are you going to say to him?"
I stare at Cassie with my mouth open. She was right. What have I done? Whatever it was, it was now interfering with my school work. What was I going to do?
Robin POV
What the hell was I going to do? I could feel this horrible heat creep at the back of my head. I must be dreaming. That couldn't have just happened. Still dreaming, c'mon wake up Robin you are going to be so late for school. I get jostled out of my thoughts.
"Watch it, asshole" Malchior scoffs
I don't have time to tell him to stop being an asshole himself. I need to find Raven. I need to…what was I going to say to her? Wally! What was I going to do about Wally? He was mad enough with me thinking Raven liked me…wait…how did Wally know Raven liked me?
