Rock awoke the following morning appearing as if he had been consecutively staring at a screen for the past few hours. He had spent the night brainstorming a solution to put out the rapidly spreading "fire" of tension between Villager and Sonic.

Unfortunately for him, there was no outcome to his overnight planning.

In the midst of Rock's daydreaming, he heard a commotion coming from the mansion's entrance, interrupting his train of thought. Curious, the blue bomber quietly tiptoed downstairs to find the Hands and other Smashers waiting excitedly by the door. Were they expecting another character?

Rock found a spot next to Samus, to whom he asked, "Hey, what are we all waiting for?"

The femme bounty hunter looked at him as if she couldn't understand his language. "What kind of question is that? Master Hand didn't tell you? You mean you don't know why we're here?"

"Uh…No. Was it required for me to know ahead of time?"

Rolling her eyes, Samus answered, "No, but it's common knowledge at the Smash mansion that whenever we're gathered around like this, it usually means someone is being added to the roster."

"Sweet!" Rock exclaimed as he threw his arms into the air.

With an "a-hem", Master Hand grabbed the attention of Rock, who was deemed by the disembodied hand a bit distracting.

"May I continue, Mega Man?" the irritated hand asked.

Trembling in fear, Rock responded, "Yes, sir."

Reaching for the door just as he did the other day, Master Hand announced, "Returning for the Legend of Zelda series, maintaining her Twilight Princess look, here's the princess herself: Zelda!"

As soon as the brunette stepped into the doorway, the hero of Hyrule was entranced by Zelda's beauty, admiring her with eyes figuratively shaped as hearts. He got down on one knee, gently held Zelda's right hand and lovingly popped the question: "Zelda, will you marry me?"

"Link! Not at a time like this!" the brunette scolded.

"How adorable!" Peach squealed.

An impatient blue character grumbled, "Um…excuse me?"

All heads turned to view the giant penguin from Kirby standing angrily behind Zelda, waiting to re-enter the mansion himself.

"Dedede! You're back!" the pink puffball cheered, reuniting with the penguin king in a friendly embrace.

"Oh! Uh…Hey, Kirby!" Dedede greeted, embarrassed by Kirby's immediate exclamation.

Master Hand wished he could have rolled his eyes if he had any.

Instantaneously, another blue figure made its way to the mansion, only to find Zelda, Kirby, and Dedede unintentionally blocking the doorway.

Realizing this, Master muttered to himself, "These Smashers are going to have me on edge today…" He cleared his "throat" and shouted, "Would you mind stepping aside so that Lucario may come in?! Darn, I gave it away!"

The Aura Pokémon entered and was at once greeted with frightened expressions from his fellow Smashers. He looked to Pikachu, who mouthed the words "don't ask".

Nobody said a word for about a minute. It wasn't until Villager spoke that the silence was broken.

"When are we getting on the bus?" he asked, raising his hand, referring to the long blue-and-green vehicle parked in the street.

Master just slowly motioned towards the bus in response. All Smashers quietly made their way to the vehicle in hopes that he would cool off by the time they reached their destination.

"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the sock drawer…" Lucario thought to himself.

Finally, when the bus came to a complete stop, the Smash Bros. found themselves at a giant boxing stadium. They ventured inside, welcomed by many blinding lights and ear-pounding speakers. To the sides of the enormous room were tall bleachers and a boxing ring stood in the center. Most of the characters were scratching their heads wondering why Master Hand brought them there, but Mario instantly caught wind of the Hand's particular destination choosing. As the fighters took their seats, the red plumber felt compelled to share his discovery with his brother Luigi, who was naturally frightened of the obnoxious music.

"Hey-a, Luigi! I-a know why we're here-a!"

"Oh yeah? What makes you say that?" Luigi shouted over the loud noise, wincing with ringing ears.

Mario smiled mischievously. "Well I-a know this-a guy that I used to be a referee-a for!"

"Well, thanks for spoiling it for me!" Luigi huffed.

"Hey, you asked-a me!"

Suddenly, the lights dimmed, and a spotlight was cast upon the boxing ring. A tall man with gray hair and a black bowtie stood in the middle of the ring holding a microphone.

"Ladies and gentlemen," he announced proudly, "thank you all for coming to our stadium today! I would like to be the first to introduce you to a new challenger to the Smash Bros. roster!"

The current Smashers were becoming increasingly excited.

The aforementioned referee continued. "In this corner, weighing in at 107 pounds with a height of 5' 7'' and seventeen years of age, may I present to you…Little Mac!"

After seeing yet another newcomer increase the number of fighters on the roster, the Smashers rose from their seats and welcomed Little Mac with a round of applause. The Punch-Out veteran stood happily and proudly, realizing that he was now able to take part in the matches as a full-fledged character, rather than randomly spawning as an assist trophy.

"Someone got a promotion!" Marth laughed.

"He sure is handsome for a minor…" Samus sighed as Peach and Zelda looked at her begrudgingly.

"Humph! As if I didn't see that coming!" Luigi huffed, indirectly scolding his brother.

The pupils in Villager's eyes dilated, indicating his anticipation.

"Rock, I'm so excited! Another newcomer! I wonder who will be announced next!"

"Who knows?" Rock asked his antsy friend in response. He also eagerly awaited the upcoming matches that he could partake in with Smashers old and new alike. But unbeknownst to him, he had completely forgotten about the rivalry between Villager and Sonic in the midst of all the excitement…

Author Notes: I'm back! Mega Man sure has a lot to deal with, doesn't he? XD

I sure wasn't expecting Little Mac to be announced, but now that he's on the roster, I can't wait to play as him! Also, Samus has romantic feelings for him because I've seen pictures of Little Mac X Samus pairings...;)
