(a/n): Well it has been awhile, hasn't it? This is a short drabble that I wrote mid-September and I just didn't find the time to upload it. See it as a time killer till I'll be able to upload High school again. I promise, the wait is almost over but anyway, I hope you still enjoy this little one-shot nonetheless ;)

All those years

She was watching him reading the Republic City paper from across their living room His mouth a stern line in concentration, his eyebrows knotting together and his glasses on top of his nose. She likes it when he wore his glasses. It made him looks smarter, handsome and serious. Not that he wasn't serious to begin with. Nope, Mako was still the brooding fire-bender she had fallen in love with all those years ago.

With or without his glasses on.

She would always find him making groaning noises when he was reading a section he agreed or disagreed on. Especially when he was reading the probending section. Even if he didn't play it anymore, he was still fascinated by the sport and all the new team that came with it.

She got back from her own thought to a concentrated Mako who was reading a paragraph out loud and asked her opinion on it. She laughed at him and tells him it's just a game and that it doesn't matter. He would get annoyed with her and stand up from his not so comfortable seat just to show her what's bugging him. Most of the time that would be the Wolf-Bats. After all those years Tahno kept playing the sport he felt connected with and promised her that he would play it fair. He didn't break his promise till that day and maybe he won't ever have to break it.

The problem with Mako was that he still wasn't over their unfair lost against the Wolf-Bats from all those years ago. He would look for anything he could find to criticise them on it.

Korra rolled her eyes at her husband and tells him to " Just let it go."

He couldn't though.

And she could see that from his disaproving pout he was giving her. His glasses slide down his nose but she walked up to him and pushed them back up and kisses his cheek afterwards. He wrapped her in his arms and held her close, resting his head on top of hers. The Republic City paper long forgotten together with his annoyance for the women he was holding in his arms.

Those were the moments she loved the most. The carefree nights without avatar duties or chief duties, in the arms of her beloved husband and just a room separated from their first born.

Their lives had been a bumped road but they got over it pretty well.
