So it's been a while. Anyway, I suggest you reread earlier chapters as they have been quite heavily edited. You see? I wasn't slacking off completely. As for the delay in updates for all my stories, I have reasons for some times, and laziness for the others.
Onwards!
Chapter 7: Class begins.
Jonathon's P.O.V.
Varn must be on his best possible behaviour. I was still stuck in the space behind the lockers, even after about ten minutes. I was trying so hard not to leave and pull a nasty prank or something that would eventually get me into trouble.
My brother and I share a strange bond. Some twins are alike in everything they do. Whether it's talking or painting or academics, they are the same. Other twins claim to have what they call 'twin telepathy' which I believe is a load of bull. Varn and I can't read each other's mind, but can tell more or less how they're feeling by the way we are feeling ourselves. For example, at that very moment I knew that Varn was feeling helpful and caring since I just felt an urge to go and mess with somebody to ruin their day slightly. We are pretty much the opposites of each other when it comes to emotions. We're a bit like Ying and Yang, but constantly changing.
My legs started to fall asleep from under me and I knew that I had to get moving so I crawled out of my hiding space between the pipes. There was about a two foot gap between the lockers and the wall. It was just enough space to breathe. Unfortunately, any sound could be heard in front of the lockers. It also meant you could hear everything from the other side of the lockers. I was about to squirm out of the tight space and back to where I came from when I heard the locker open from directly in front of me. I had no choice but to be absolutely silent.
"So, what's our first lesson?" a male voice that was to the left.
"I'll check." A second male, but he was the one using a locker. I heard the rustle of paper as locker man looked at his schedule.
"Day 4 is… Natural Science, First Additional Language, and then Maths." I recognised both the voices but I couldn't place them. My legs had pins and needles.
"That sucks." The non-locker voice said.
"Well, I don't control the schedule Abdol." Abdol! That was who it was. But who was the person by the locker? It was on the tip of my tongue. Abdol carried on the conversation.
"What do you have for First Additional?"
"Oh, I've got French." The other voice answered.
"Cool, I have Latin. Are there any people I know in your class?" Abdol asked Mr. Mystery Man.
"Um, Nixie and Jess and Flare. There may be others, but I don't know who you know."
"Well, let's see who I know." Abdol retorted.
"Okay." Locker man said, took some books and closed the door. "Let's see…Do you know Midge?"
"Yes."
"James?"
"Yes."
"Alex?"
"No."
"Elizabeth?"
"Yes."
"Swain?"
"Yes."
"Gertrude?"
"No."
"Good."
"Why?"
"Not… a particularly pleasant person."
"Okay. Got any others?"
"Um, how about George?"
"Yes."
"Well, there's also Jess and Undrae."
"Yes and Yes."
"Must I keep going?"
"I get the idea. Who are your friends though?" Abdol asked him.
"Well, Jamie and Swain are cool guys. I also hang out with Jess and Undrae." Then it hit me. I knew that voice well. It was Honau, Drae's friend. He was in a bunch of her classes. I never thought of him and Abdol as friends though. They weren't enemies, but they didn't talk to each other. They hadn't left yet so I was still suck there.
"So… Why are you here?" Honau asked. So I was right, they aren't buddies.
"Oh right! I wanted to know what you thought of Undrae." There was a pause.
"Well she-" the bell rang, cutting Honau off.
"I'm not leaving until you tell me." Abdol was serious.
"She's cool." Honau tried to sound like it didn't faze him. Truth was, anybody who spent time with the two together could see instantly that Honau had a huge crush on Drae. Why? I don't have the slightest clue.
"No, I mean seriously. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone." Abdol tried.
"It really isn't any of your business Abdol. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get to class." Honau tried to leave.
"So you like her, hey?" I could almost hear Abdol smirking.
"Let me rephrase: Abdol, get your nose outta my business and piss off so I can leave." He walked off. Abdol chuckled before going in the opposite direction. With them gone, I could also go. I waddled sideways as fast as I could. When I got out, I grabbed my pack and made a run for class. Mr. Masino was not someone you wanted to mess with. That includes being late.
And there you ave it. A medium length chapter for this story. I've noticed that these chapters are shorter than my other stories... Oh well. Anyway, I'm not quite sure where to go with this... I haven't thought it through much - *cough*nonewhatsoever*cough* - so I would appreciate some help. I think I have the next chapter sort of sorted, but I'm at a loss from there. I suppose I'll just have to make it pretty short. Maybe make it like a one shot series of their day-to-day lives? I dunno. I would really appreciate some feedback!
Until next time
I'm out.
