Katniss's POV

Tuesday came faster than I expected.

When I walked into school, I saw Madge, Johanna, and Annie waiting by my locker. For some unknown reason, I have been like the unofficial leader of the group so they always wait by my locker.

During first period, I feel a pair of eyes on me and I have no idea why. I am nothing special. Shorter than most. Long brown hair. Boring gray eyes. I must be imagining things.

Second period turns out to be a study period since Ms. Trinket is absent. As soon as our lazy sub, Mr. Abernathy sits down, all that can be heard is the turning of desks. Since Madge is the only friend I have on this class, i turn to her.

"So, Madge, how are things with Gale?'' I say with a smirk on my face. Madge has had a crush on Gale for about a month. It's like she just saw him for the first time a month ago and fell in love. I know for a fact that he likes her but Madge, Annie, and I have always been a bit shy. Jo, on the other hand, is bold and absolutely fearless.

"Okay, okay. No need to rub it in. I know. 'I need to make a move or he never will.' I get it. But he is just so cute! Never mind. I don't want to talk about it. So haw about Divergent?"

We start talking about how we thought Veronica Roth was a genius until she lost her mind at the end of the trilogy when to the room goes silent.

In walks Finnick.

All the girls start to put on lipstick and check their hair. All the guys glare. Somehow not noticing this, he give the class a wave and walks over to sit next to me.

"Hey Kat and..."He says and he approaches us.

"Madge" she says while holding her hand out. He takes it as well as the seat in front of us.

"So, what were you ladies talking about?"

"Well Finnie, we were saying how much we hated the ending to the Divergent trilogy. You should really read them. You might even like reading if you bothered to pick up a book!" I practically yell at him. We always get into arguements about his laziness. The only thing he will actually get off his but

"Okay, so, wait a minute. Where do you two know each other?" Madge says, trying (successfully) to calm me down.

"When I was little, my grandmother, Mags, lived here and I used to come and visit over the summer. Katniss showed me around while she was in the hospital. Then, when she passed away, my family sold the house, so we haven't seen each other in years. Don't worry, I'm not some boyfriend you never heard of or a creepy long-lost brother." I almost cringe at the fact that he talked about himself, even if it was denying it, as my boyfriend. He really is like another brother to me.

The rest of the day goes by pretty un-eventfully.

Before I know it, I am waiting in the courtyard in front of the school, waiting for the Everdeens to meet me so we can go to the bakery.

Not even two minutes after I sit down, a gleeful Prim is running towards me, arms outstreached.

I don't hesitate to take her into my arms. Ever since she was little, we have been like blonde hair and blue eyes fi in better with my family than my eye and hair color.

As we make our way to the bakery, Prim dreamily babbles about how perfect Rory Hawthorne is. Ahhh, young love.

When we get to the back entrance of my family bakery, I tell Peeta he can go into the back where we have a huge table that easily fits all of our textbooks needed for the massive amounts of homework we get.

I then start gatherig the ingredients needed for the cake I want to teach Prim.

Everything was running smoothly until I hear a crash in the back room.

My brothers are home.

Poor Peeta.

Peeta POV

I really don't feel like doing homework with the most beautiful girl in the world right in the next room.

Seeing her be so caring and just genuinely interested in what my sister was saying just made me fall even more in love with her.

So, instead of doing my mountain of homework that I got from my wonderful teachers (don't you love my awesome sarcasm), I take out my sketch book. My parents gave it to me for my 16th birthday. Since then, I have never gone a day without using it. Most of my drawings are of either one of two things: the lake my father and I go to and Katniss. The piece I have working on all day (an image of Katniss and Prim, each with a broad smile on her face) is almost dome when the back door. I am so "in the zone", as my mother says, that I don't hear the two Mellark sons walk in.

Before I know it, the book is ripped from underneath my pencil and Rye, the oldest of the "bakery boys"(what they are called all throughout Panem County), is yellimg "Kat! Kat! You got to see this!"

I know it's kinda short and I left off on a cliffhanger (sorta) but I think that I may be able to update again before i go back to school on the 2nd day of 2014. Okay so that was kinda weirdly stated but it looked better in my head.

Happy early New Year!
