When Patience woke up she found herself in the attic at her home; she looked around the room and saw Phoebe, Paige and Piper on the other side looking disturbed and upset. Chris had his back turned to Patience and was in the middle of the two parties. Wyatt was standing on the other side of Piper with his arms crossed. He didn't like where events were going either. Patience sat up with a slight yawn and said,

"What's going on?"

She hadn't noticed that Xavier was standing behind the couch that she was laying on. Piper was ready to throw a vanquishing potion at Xavier. Of course she didn't grasp the idea that it really wouldn't do much. The hybrids of Patience's time were almost indestructible, it took a lot more than just the power of three to take out those demons.

"I don't care what you think Chris I am your mother and he is a demon I can't believe you're even sticking up for him." Piper said.

Patience stood up finally recognizing her husbands presence. She walked over to Chris and stood by his side,

"You can't kill him Piper, it's stupid to try he's too strong." she said.

"You wanna bet." Piper said with an arrogant smile.

Patience just shrugged her shoulders and moved out of the way. She looked at her husband and said,

"If you don't mind."

Xavier didn't think she was serious but Patience moved out of the way so Piper could get a good shot. Maybe it was pay back for making her think that he would kill her brother. Or maybe it was pay back for putting her to sleep again, whatever the reason Piper still threw the potion at Xavier hoping to end this situation. Unfortunately for Piper it had no effect on Xavier, Piper scoffed and said,

"Okay well it may not work on future boy but our present version isn't strong enough to survive that potion. We can find him and kill him and then this whole thing will be over."

"Piper you're not getting it are you?" Patience said looking disappointed at her mother.

"Xavier is the only way we will ever get close enough to Nero and his men to take him out. You kill Xavier past or present we have nothing. The virus or whatever it was that made those demons so freakin powerful didn't start with him and it sure as hell isn't going to end with him."

"She's right mom." Wyatt said reluctantly.

Piper sighed,

"I don't trust him."

"You don't have to," Patience said walking over to her husband.

"Because I do."

Phoebe looked at the older version of her soon to be niece and half smiled then bit the inside of her bottom lip. She remembered how hard she fought to be with Cole, how she believed that even though he was a demon they could over come the obstacles. Cole loved her, she never had to doubt that and because of that she believed they could make it work. But it was all too clear to her how this story would end, eventually Patience would come to learn that Xavier and her would never make it to happily ever after like she did. Phoebe knew Patience would be a part of her husband's death so whether Piper wanted them to be together or not the two would never be together in the end. It hurt her to think like that, such negative thoughts especially because she loved love so much. She was the expert on it, everyone asked her for her advice on it. The only advice she could give her now was to walk away while she still had a chance, which was much easier said then done. There was determination on Patience's face she wasn't walking away from her husband's side.

"I think we should trust him."

"Phoebe!" Piper and Paige exclaimed at the same time.

"What? I mean it's obvious that they feel very strongly about this so why not just let them go through with the plan."

"Uh why? Because it can be risky that's why? We're talking about the fate of our little nephew in the hands of a demon. Doesn't really sound good to me Phebs." Paige said.

"Okay look, Chris trusts me, Chris do you trust me enough to go through with Xavier's plan?" Patience asked him.

Chris sighed and looked up at Xavier then at his younger sister.

"Yeah I do."

"Good then we're doing this." Patience said. She walked out of the room and down the stairs to the first floor.

Piper wasn't at all pleased and requested to speak with Wyatt downstairs. Chris followed behind them and Paige volunteered to go and check on the boys at magic school. Phoebe stayed to keep an eye on Xavier for the others. Xavier sat down on the couch that Patience was laying on when she woke up. He looked as though he were lost in thought. Phoebe walked over to the book but as she did she said,

"So, you and Patience, how long have you been married?"

"It will be a year next week." he answered.

"Wow." Phoebe said looking down.

She was impressed by how long they were able to be together without his leader requesting him to kill her. As if reading her mind Xavier said,

"Nero let me marry her in order to feed him information about the family. He decided to do what a lot of other demons tried to do to you and your sisters in the past and attack you as human, females. You tend to trust those who you believe love you."

"Did you?"

"Did I what?"

"Did you feed him information?" Phoebe asked.

"Yes, but Pate was aware of it."

All the time while they talked Xavier never once moved his gaze from a certain spot on the floor. He responded like any normal person but it was like he was stuck. He knew soon enough that once they go back to the future it would be the last time he would be alive with his wife. Phoebe was looking through the book of shadows when she saw the page she written on Cole. She was so lucky to have Coop she loved him very much and nothing would ever change that but she knew why she loved Cole. He was dangerous, he was handsome and he wanted to protect her. He tried as hard as he could to love her and be good and to be kind. She remembered that silly charade he did (after escaping the demonic waste land with all those powers) where he saved a white lighter to be from a burning building. Of course at the time he didn't know she was a white lighter to be, she smiled because that was also the time that Piper and Leo switched powers because of Wyatt. Then the Siren turned Cole on her and he practically choked her to death, had it not been for Piper and Leo she would've been dead. It was such a harsh memory when it reached that point but it was also the moment where she really realized that Cole and her could never be together no matter how much he fought for her. He couldn't be human; he'd lived to long with demonic powers it wasn't an easy adjustment and his power almost always threatened her life. The danger and rebellion must've been what kept Patience so close to him, why she loved him. It was sort of the epic forbidden love kind of thing,

"You know, I had a premonition." Phoebe said.

He started to tense up getting a little nervous and wondering what she had seen.

"You know what's going to happen don't you? You're going to die for her."

He relaxed a little, she hadn't seen anything worse, a least nothing that he didn't already know. Being killed he didn't fear, he always expected that. Half the time he would tell Patience that he was ready for death. This time was different, this time he wasn't ready to die.

"She's pregnant." Xavier said.

"I know." she answered.

Xavier didn't have to ask how she knew, but for the first time during their conversation Xavier stood up and turned to Phoebe. He walked over, leaving a little space between him and the book of shadows.

"She can't know, not yet." Xavier said.

"Why not?" Phoebe asked.

"What's going to happen next, if she knows she's pregnant she'll never be able to kill Nero."

"You mean that she won't kill you."

"Would you kill Cole if you knew you were pregnant?" Xavier asked.

"I did kill Cole when I was pregnant."

"You vanquished him for being the source of evil, would you have vanquished him to kill the new source. They way things are going to turn out I'll have to be close to Nero in order for the siblings to say their spell. I will die. If Cole was in my position would you do it?"

Phoebe thought for a moment, she knew what he was saying.

"No, I would try to find another way."

"So will she, despite the resemblance to Piper she acts much like you. She'll fight it till the end, she won't do it if she knows."

"If it was the only way, if there was no other way to avoid it... She would."

"No, she won't. That's why there are two ways the future will turn out. She will be my dark Queen or she kills me. I'm trying to avoid the first one and I believe the only way to do that is to allow her to kill me."

Phoebe didn't know how to fight him on the subject. It wasn't good to put her in that position but she knew Patience would have to go through it anyway. There wasn't any way to stop him for what he was planning, she could see it in his face that he loved her and it hurt Phoebe so much. She realized that she was crying, Xavier handed her a tissue from his pocket, she grabbed it quickly and walked away from him.

"I'm sorry it's just that I feel your pain and it hurts." Phoebe said getting a handle on her emotions.

Xavier nodded understanding what was wrong with her. Phoebe looked up at the door when she saw Patience come through. She walked over to them and asked Phoebe what was wrong with her. Phoebe shook her head,

"I hit my toe and it really hurt."

Patience looked at her suspiciously, Phoebe just smiled and said she'd go see what Piper was doing. Patience knew that she was down there arguing with Chris and Wyatt. After Phoebe left, Patience sighed and walked over to her husband.

"They're never going to convince Piper to let it go. No matter what time we're in, past or present, she'll never except us together." Patience said.

Xavier smiled and cupped her cheek, he looked her in the eyes and smoothed her hair. He gave her a little smile but Patience knew him better then that, something was going on in his mind. For some reason though she was hesitant to ask, she stayed silent and wrapped her arms around him. He rubbed her back in the small hug, his chin rested on the top of her head. This was where he'd like to stay forever, with her in his arms. He moved back and dipped his head down and gave her a kiss, soft and sweet at first then a little more rough, a little more desired, hungry and loving. Everything she missed about him and everything he loved about her was in that kiss. It was probably the only chance he had to be with her like this. To hold her and kiss her, to tell her how much he loved her. He didn't cry, he didn't feel the need to, even when Phoebe expressed his emotion for him he still felt there was no need to show the pain or to feel it at all. He was trying to draw into himself in order to keep Patience safe and to make sure that he could go through with the plan. Xavier took her by the hand and lead her to the couch and sat her down.

"I've been meaning to ask you, why do we have to take Zion from Chris why can't we just leave it in him and go back to the future?"

"Well, because you were born only a witch, when we vanquish Nero you'll get his powers as well because of Zion. It'll increase your powers already as well. All those powers in Chris it would destroy him but you have a void, a part to you that was meant to be white lighter but isn't there. When you receive Nero's powers you'll live, however those powers can take you over. They can alter your sense of morality so Chris and Wyatt will have to say the spell to remove Zion from you as quickly as possible."

"How is something like this allowed to exist? It's like its on the line of good and evil it's not one or the other. Like the Nexus, it's scary to think that anybody who has this inside them can kill and take anything they want."

"Zion wasn't really created for good and evil, in fact it wasn't even made to be neutral. It's a rare kind of power that just sort of happened. Powers and potions got mixed, a chemical reaction started and now you have a power that acts like a magnet in a way because once something is killed it either absorbs the power or it enhances the ones you already have." Xavier explained.

"But Chris has been fighting demons for years he doesn't have any new powers." Patience asked confused.

"That's because Zion has enhanced his powers, think about it Chris was born with the white lighter gene and the witch gene in which his strongest power if a force repel. It's Prue's power ten times stronger. He can knock out a the very least a hundred lower level demons in a minute with that power."

Patience thought about that, it was true. Chris used to feel insecure because Wyatt was powerful, he had powers from the womb and he even had a force field that protected him. She remembered the first time that Chris discovered his new ability. They were arguing their way downstairs into the kitchen about Xavier coming over for a dinner date. Chris didn't like him around that time because he was a demon and he believed him to be trouble. Patience remembered screaming at him to turn around, look her in the eye and stop acting like an ass. She screamed for him to listen to her and when he turned around he made a simple motion with his hands and sent Patience flying, not just through the front door but past the front steps and into the street. Patience had to be healed by Wyatt, who had been following them around the house trying to calm the two down. Wyatt said that if Patience had been any closer to Chris when he used his power she would've been dead and they would have lost a sister. Piper of course flipped when she came home from the restaurant and found out what happened. Patience recalled leaving the house that night and not seeing them again for about a week. She ended up getting yelled at by Piper because she didn't tell any body where she was and they were worried something had happened to her.

"When I woke up next to you a few days ago, I never thought I'd be here looking at my mother as a younger woman. I never thought that I'd have to figure out a way to keep Chris alive. I just wanted to wake up next to you and think that everything is okay. That we can finally work." Patience said.

Xavier was knelt down in front of her, he grabbed her hand and cupped her cheek with the other one. He sounded sad when he spoke, he sounded hurt.

"Everything is going to be okay." he said.

"Is it? Because from what's been going on lately. I feel like it's just the beginning of another cycle. Me fighting demons off to protect you, then you making it seem as though you've betrayed me and then my brothers come after you. It's never gonna stop is it X? We're destined to fight for each other till the end. Like this marriage was never meant to be." Patience said.

Xavier couldn't listen to her anymore. He kissed her furiously, her lips becoming swollen from the fever of it all. He didn't, he couldn't face that it was over but it was. In a matter of hours his wife will have the memory of his death burned into her mind. His hand ran up her leg, his lips kissed her neck, she begged him to stop but her body wanted more. They heard foot steps coming up and Xavier pulled away from her regretting it. Chris had entered the room and saw the two sitting there, Patience was breathing heavily, trying to catch her breath from what just happened. Chris cleared his throat so that they both knew he was in there and Patience stood up placing her hand on Xavier's head as she passed him to keep her balance. Patience put her hands in her pockets and walked up to Chris,

"What's going on?" she asked.

Chris looked from Xavier, who was now standing up, to Patience and said,

"Paige went to go get the spell from the elders. Xavier filled me in on the plan. Mom is still reluctant but Wyatt's keeping her calm."

"Figures she'd listen to the favorite." Patience said rolling her eyes.

"Pate, clear things up with your mother. You won't be fighting for long." Xavier said.

Patience looked back at him and responded,

"Yeah right. I sure our feud will never end."

"I'm sure it will." Xavier said.

His face was strangely serious but she shrugged it off, now all they could do is wait. Piper gave Wyatt the binding potion for Patience which was actually a secret to her for the moment. Chris and Wyatt had the spell that they would use to defeat Nero, which was the same spell the sisters used to destroy the source the only difference was that there was a little extra to the chant to account for his added strength. They were almost ready, Xavier stood next to her but refused to let himself touch her. He was considering her being his dark Queen but he wanted her happy so he pushed the idea to the back of his mind. Now all they had to do was...wait.
