A/N: School is for suckas' so I came home, slept for half the day, and started writing. Enjoy yourselves. This one may be a bit confusing but that's how my brain works these days so hopefully it won't be too bad.

A slight knock came from the door of what used to be the bedroom of Tora; the room in which Valda remained – where Valda always remained, these days. Ever since the death of her soulmate, the blonde Nixie had become a recluse among the tribe, only coming out of her deceased lover's room to feed. The other members of the group had grown to accept her ways of grief, while others feared the mourning warrior to the point of total avoidance of her sector of the concealed world in which they lived.
Valda seemed un-phased by the light rapping on the driftwood door across the room. Instead, she continued to remain idle, curled amongst the piles of pillows strewn across Tora's bed, hugging one of the said objects to her chest so that she may inhale the nostalgic scent of her past love. In her hands, she cradled a small picture frame. The photo inside was of Tora and herself, caught in mid-laughter while wrapped in each others arms. Squeezed lovingly in the middle of their embrace was a bright, smiling girl – seemingly about seven years old with sandy brown hair and big, innocent eyes to match her mother's. The girl gazed admiringly at the two powerful warriors holding her. It was a photo of pure joy, happiness, and enchantment, but to Valda, it was but a painful reminder of the life she would never again experience.
She ran her thumb gently across the photograph and let fall a number of stray tears before the anger consumed her again as it had been so frequently since her loss. Thanks to the chi-sucking brunette, Valda had been unconscious while the Valkyrie issued her famed war tactic upon their leader, so the effects were nothing but a bothersome memory to her. Since she was able to remember everything, unlike others of the tribe, her blood began to boil at the thought of the katana wielding succubus who robbed Tora of her breath.
Her anger built further as she examined the photograph, the child in the middle, Lorelei. The little girl, a near spitting image of her mother, that she had banished from the tribe, an order unable to be overridden by any of the group, even Ricarda. Her feelings conflicted in so many ways, she abruptly rose from her mess of pillows and hurled the picture across the room where it shattered, hitting the opposite wall.
"Valda," a familiar voice sounded through the room as the old door opened. Aloysia, daughter of their gentle leader, stepped into the space. "Valda, what the hell are you doing," the usually abrasive, white-haired woman's tone was unusually gentle and careful as she closed the distance to the bed where Valda sat.
"What do you want, Aloysia," the blonde's voice was gruff and quiet as she spoke, "I do not wish to have any visitors, this better be important." The Nixie stared back at the obviously disheveled woman with a glint in her light eyes. The reason for that curious glint was indiscernible but mildly concerning.
"You're thinking about the succubus, aren't you," Aloysia questioned silently with a malicious grin.
"Does it matter? It's not as if anything could be avenged with thought," Valda spat back.
"Watch the way you speak to me or I will leave and take with me your only hope of obtaining vengeance for your Tora." At this, the blonde's eyes snapped upwards, containing a fire like no other. She leapt from the bed and slammed Aloysia's strong body against the adjacent wall, her forearm pinned across the other woman's throat with dreadful force.
"What games do you play, child," Valda hissed into the tall Nixie's stunned face, "You think this comical? My Tora is dead and here you joke about such things? I should end your life in this moment simply for soiling her name with your ungrateful tongue."
Aloysia began to chuckle darkly, "No games, Val. I speak only the truth to you of this revenge – only in Tora's honor." Her light eyes grew stern and her face, deadly, "Now remove yourself from my body before I snap you in two as you well know I could – and would." Valda's grip reluctantly loosened and Aloysia shoved her away with brutish force.
"What is this way of which you speak, sister? You know full well we cannot leave the river but for a short time," Valda questioned lowly after a few moments of hesitation. The white-haired girl raised her arm and hanging from her hand was a tarnished chain necklace with a deep ruby gemstone.
Valda's eyes grew wide and her mouth fell lightly agape as she took in the piece of jewelry. "Is that...no, no, those were all destroyed by the warlocks centuries ago. It couldn't be – is it?"
Aloysia smirked knowingly as she fastened the necklace around her own neck. "Oh, but it is – a piece of the enchanted ruby. A stone that will allow any Nixie to travel away from her stream for any distance and any length of time without fear of...you know. The ancestors managed to secure a small number of them before they could be destroyed. They're kept under lock and key in the residence of each new leader, being passed down through generations. And, last I checked, our leader happens to be the dear old mommy of yours truly, so retrieving them was no chore."
Valda stared in awe at the girl before her, excitement and anticipation in her eyes, "When can we leave? Is there another? We must go immediately, that demon must be destroyed for what she did to my Tora."
"We can leave now, if you're done crying in your pile of pillows," Aloysia sneered.
The blonde rolled her eyes and pushed past the snickering girl. It was late evening, so the others of the tribe were all safely in their beds. The two were able to navigate the village unseen with ease. When they reached the edge of town, Aloysia again spoke up.
"Oh, one more thing," she said hesitantly, "Asvoria is coming with us. She caught me taking the necklaces and said the only way she would let Rikka's only daughter do something like this was if I were protected by Rikka's right hand."
Just as Valda was about to argue, the red headed Nixie in question approached them, her archer's bow strapped across her shoulder – now patched up from where Tamsin had assaulted her with blades – carrying a necklace identical to the one Aloysia wore, her neck adorned with its twin. She wordlessly handed the necklace to Valda, who clasped the chain around her own neck.
After a moment of awkward silence, Aloysia spoke up, "Are we going or not?" With this, she pushed past the other two Nixie women and walked straight into a backwards waterfall behind the trio. The water ran upwards from the ground at a frightful force. The others soon to follow, within seconds, the three armed and intimidating water sprites had risen from the water and were making their way through the woods to the main road, intent on finding the two fae women who had torn their tribe apart.
"When are you going to teach me to use a sword?" Lorelei's twinkling voice piped up from her seat between Tamsin and Bo in the dark blue truck. They had just parked outside of the Dal.
"Never," the two answered in unison, exiting the vehicle. Both grinned at the pout they received from the little Cambion. Bo helped Lorelei out of the passenger side door and position the girl's braid over her shoulder before taking her hand and leading her down the familiar alleyway. What she didn't expect was the warm feeling of fingers snaking into her other hand as she walked when Tamsin intertwined their fingers. The succubus felt her heart pound at the adorable gesture.
When they entered the dimly lit pub, the first thing they noticed was the curious lack of patrons. Actually, the bar was empty except for Dyson, sitting at his usual seat at the bar. When he heard the girls enter, he turned to meet their confused looks. His expression changed to one of pure amusement as he took in the near identical attire of Lorelei and his partner.
"Well, aren't you two cute," he stated mockingly, receiving a smack to the back of his head from the blonde when the trio reached his location.
"Better mind that tongue of yours before I remove it from your mouth, dog breath," Tamsin spat.
"Dyson, where is everyone," Bo questioned, avoiding another 'love fest' between the two, as she looked around the empty Dal.
"Trick closed up for the night. We figured this was a bit too...delicate to risk someone overhearing. Especially after today's incident..." he trailed off, rising from the stool and motioning for the girls to follow him.
The group entered Trick's lair again and were not surprised to see Lauren, Hale, and Kenzi, all gathered around a big book on Trick's desk as he looked as though he were trying to explain something hopelessly. Upon the arrival of the guests of honor, everyone turned their attention to the little girl, clad in her burgundy leather, before taking their seats around the room.
As she crossed the space to her seat, Lauren grasped ahold of Bo's hand and leaned in – a little too close – and asked softly, "Bo, is there any way we could speak later….privately? I mi-" She was cut off by a strong hand roughly wrapping around her wrist, causing her to look up in shock. She was met by a pair of infuriated emerald eyes staring down at her with pure intimidation.
"If I were you, I'd reconsider that request, Doc," Tamsin's glare narrowed in on Lauren before she yanked her hand out of Bo's and stepped between the two. Bo felt a wave of 'what the fuck' combined with a flash of 'that's so hot' take over as she followed after the ballsy blonde.
Tamsin and Bo took their seats on the couch as they had before, instead of being discrete as the succubus expected, Tamsin immediately wrapped her arm around Bo's shoulders protectively – lovingly – holding her hand at the top of her arm, and pulled her against her own body. She then adjusted her positioning to allow Lorelei to scramble into their now conjoined laps and curl into her two new-found role models.
After shaking off the initial shock of Tamsin being so open with the PDA, Bo relaxed into the Valkyrie's hold and placed a hand maternally onto Lorelei's leg before beginning the conversation to draw everyone's now shocked demeanors back to reality.
"So, we're supposed to be talking about today's...incident. I think it's safe to say that Lorelei's powers are kicking in. Did Dyson and Kenzi explain what happened?" The succubus directed her attention to her grandfather who simply nodded in return.
"Good. Well, we've discovered something else. Actually, I've discovered something else. Em, Lori can read – hear thoughts now."
"Whoa, back the funky truck up," Kenzi said, panicked. "You mean not only is she a weather controlling doom baby, but now she's a mind reading, weather controlling doom baby?!"
"This is rather unusual. Telepathy was not on the list of documented Cambion powers, which means she could defy other aspects of the species as well," Trick stated. A small gasp came from the lap of the power couple of the hour and all eyes turned to Lorelei as her face transformed to one of sadness and fear.
"Y-you want me to go away," the little girl whimpered. Tamsin placed her hand on Lorelei's shoulder protectively as Bo sat forward to wrap her arms around the wee fae.
"What? No, baby, no one wants you to go away. Why would you think that," Bo questioned gently.
Lorelei pointed a little finger across the room as she spoke, "She does." All eyes turned in the direction of the accused. Lauren's eyes grew wide as everyone stared at her. She shifted uncomfortably in her chair.
"I never said that, Lorelei. Did anyone hear me say that," the doctor defended nervously.
Tamsin felt her anger rising, "No...but Rune can hear thoughts, you syringe sucking little sh-"
"Lori!?" Bo yelled anxiously. Tamsin stopped in her insult as she realized that the weight of the girl on their laps was lessening. By the time she looked to see what was happening, the baby Cambion had vanished into thin air. Tamsin was speechless as her eyes changed from fury to terror in a matter of seconds.
"What the fae..." Kenzi breathed, followed by an, "Ohhhh shit," from Hale.
"Good god," echoed Trick and Dyson as they watched the scene unfold. Before anyone else had the chance to express their shock, a high pitched scream sounded from the bar above the lair. Bo and Tamsin recognized the scream as Lorelei's and were sprinting up the stairs in a blink.
"Lori," Bo called frantically as the two raced up the stairs. Tamsin was the first to enter the empty pub and, upon doing so, was left standing eye-to-eye with a familiar, icy blue and red-rimmed gaze. Bo was hot on her heels and let loose an audible gasp when she saw Asvoria and Valda across the room, Lorelei restrained by the red-haired right hand.
Tamsin glanced around Aloysia's presence at her baby Rune being held. She took a quick swipe at the Nixie's face with her fist, knocking her out of the way, and sprinted towards the little fae girl. Valda was quick to react, charging forwards and meeting the Valkyrie before she could reach Lorelei. She lunged ahead and pulled the detective to the ground by her shoulders before Tamsin flipped their positions and landed with her knee solidly into Valda's abdomen.
By this time, Aloysia was back on her feet and battling it out with Bo beside the bar. Tamsin rose from her position on the floor, planning to continue in her quest to free Lorelei. But when she looked to where the girl had been, she breathed a sigh of relief as a massive fluffy wolf lunged towards Asvoria and a little goth rushed Rune away from the madness.
As Bo took a strike at Aloysia, the Nixie managed to knock the succubus' dagger from her grasp, spin her around, and before Bo had the chance to react, a blade was held to her throat. Curious as to why her blood was still inside her body, she began to make a sarcastic remark to the white haired girl but her curiosity was cured when a pissed off, determined, terrifying voice came from behind her.
"Remove your hands from my girlfriend or I'll remove them from your body."
A/N: Cliffhangers are my specialty. Did any of that make sense or did I just fry someone's brain...?
