On with the fic...
A First Kiss... Maybe?
Naruto was currently walking towards Ichiraku with Hinata following a couple paces behind. Every time Naruto had tried to slow down, she would walk even slower and every time he turned around she would look to either side to avoid his gaze. His hands were no longer behind his head, he was a bit nervous after all. It was his first date and he didn't really know what to do.
When they reached ichiraku's she sat one seat away. Confused Naruto decided to move one seat closer to her. Her poor mind couldn't take much more. Her face felt like it was on fire.
"Oh hey Naruto, the usual?" Ayame said as she noticed Naruto and Hinata walk in the restaurant.
"Yes please," he said a little timidly.
"What's this? Naruto using manners? Is it because of your friend here? " Ayame asked prying into what could be a date. Unfortunately, when Hinata heard that, her face turned into an even darker shade of red as the heat in her cheeks grew even hotter. She put her head down making Ayame regret her little teasing.
What Ayame didn't know was that Hinata didn't mind the teasing too much. She was to happy just being this close to Naruto.
Naruto was happy, albeit a bit nervous.
"Um Hinata is it? What would you like to eat? " Ayame asked deciding that she shouldn't tease her anymore, even though it was cute. Oh the reactions she would make.
"Um. ... I-I think maybe j-just a miso ramen, please," Hinata said twiddling her fingers. She wouldn't dare look at Naruto, her heart was already beating fast just by the sound of his voice being so near her.
Ayame took their orders and left to the kitchen.
*buddum*
Hinata could hear her heart beating faster and faster.
"Hey Hinata," Naruto said trying to gain her attention.
She jumped a little at the sudden mention of her name. His voice saying her name.
"Um y-yes," Hinata responded.
Contemplating what he should say next, Naruto thought he'd break the ice.
"Um well...what's your favorite color?" Naruto asked, regretting it the moment he said it. He felt so lame asking a dumb question like that.
"Uumm o-orange," she said almost instantly. It wasn't really her favorite but when she saw Naruto's face quirk a smile, she felt happy she said it.
Naruto was a little happy himself. Hinata liked orange. She ordered ramen and she liked orange. They already had a lot in common. He wanted to jump, but thought better of it.
"Here are your orders," Ayame said placing both bowls on the table.
"That was fast," Naruto said a little astonished.
"My dad has like a sixth sense about you," Ayame said with a giggle making Naruto pout. Hinata also began to giggle a little.
Time past by and they finished their meals.
Naruto was walking Hinata home. He was happy he was able to walk at her pace. She was no longer trying to stay a few steps behind.
*budump*
Hinata heard her heart beat again.
She glanced towards Naruto only to find that he was glancing at her too.
Immediately they looked away a little embarrassed.
Naruto was blushing and Hinata's heart was pounding even faster.
He peaked back over to see if she was still looking. For a moment the moon shined a little brighter and Hinata looked especially beautiful.
*budump*
This time it was Naruto's heart that was beating so loud. Well, at least to his ears. Hoping she didn't notice, he looked over again only to see she was a couple feet behind. panicking a little, Naruto stopped to let her catch up.
"I um I live r-right here," Hinata said timidly.
"Oh ok," Naruto said dejectedly. He was enjoying the fact that he was on a date with a girl. A cute girl.
She looked at him and it was strange. She wanted to stay with him for a little while longer, but she felt she couldn't take much more. She felt like she was about to faint at any moment.
"Then I'll see you later," Naruto said.
Saddened by such a phrase that meant goodbye, Hinata looked up and her eyes widened...
She felt a warmth on her cheek...
Soft, moistness...
And then he spoke.
"That was weird huh? I'll see you later," He said rushing to leave. He was so embarrassed.
He wasn't thinking.
He was scared.
What if he had ruined it or what if she suddenly decided to beat him up for it.
He didn't have a lot of luck when it came to girls.
Hinata on the other hand was quite shocked.
"Is everything alright?" Haishi asked as he came up behind Hinata.
She couldn't forget it.
His touch.
His lips.
She would play it over and over in her mind.
What if she had tilted her head? ...
They would have kissed...
They could have kissed each other on the lips...
His lips pressed against hers.
His arms pulling her closer as she would grip his jacket.
Her face became red.
Her fathers voice was just a ring in her ears as she played that very fantasy in her head.
And then she fainted.
She fainted in her fathers arms.
With Naruto...
He was pacing back and forth thinking about what he had done. She didn't react immediately, so maybe she was shocked. Maybe she thought he was a pervert now.
"Gaahhhh!" He mildly yelled as he clinched his hair.
Why did he have to be so stupid?
It was instinct.
Being close to a girl without getting beat up was good enough, so why did he have to take it even further?
'Stupid' he thought.
Suddenly, he heard the whistle of a kettle. His water was boiling. That meant he could pour it on some instant ramen, thus distracting him from his current stress.
With this brief moment of distraction, he was able to fall asleep.
The next day...
Groggy and still tired, Naruto woke up. He got up and got dressed and commenced his morning routine. With no team meeting today, he decided to walk around for a bit before he started training.
He kept thinking about the day before...
About the kiss he gave Hinata.
He hoped she wouldn't still be mad about it.
With Hinata...
She woke up believing that everything had been a dream.
Oh what a wonderful dream.
She smiled, got up, got dressed, and walked right out of her home.
Walking along the road, her hand reached up to her cheek where Naruto had kissed her in her dream. She was so happy she was walking with vibrant confidence.
And off in the distance she saw the joy in her wonderful dream.
'Ok I'm going to say hello this time. I'm definitely going to speak to him... and I'm not going to faint,' She thought with determination.
As she got closer she saw him rub the back of his neck with his left hand. He looked nervous.
'I just gotta say it. Just get it over with and see if she still wants to go out some more. I can't beat around the bush. Just ask her about it,' Naruto thought.
"Um Hey Hinata, um yesterday... when I kissed you..."
It was all real.
It wasn't a dream.
He still seemed nervous. It began to make her nervous.
A million thoughts ran past Hinata's mind, but the one at the top of the list was the kiss.
Did he regret it?
"Are you mad about it?... the kiss I mean," Naruto asked with such nervousness that he just couldn't look her in the eyes.
But he was wrong. That's not how she felt. Not even close.
Why was he like this? The more she thought about it, the more she remembered how the females in their academy had treated him. He doubted her, and why shouldn't he? The female race hadn't exactly given him a reason to trust them.
She understood.
She had to be strong and courageous.
She had to show him he was wrong, but she couldn't say it. Her voice wouldn't reach him.
"...I understand if you don't wanna-"
She pecked him on the cheek.
That shut him up quickly.
She put her head down and her hands were up in her face trying to cover up her blush.
She was so cute.
She was cute and she kissed him.
He reached up to touch his cheek and then he noticed Hinata swaying a bit. With Swirls in her eyes she looked like she was about to fall.
And fall she did. Luckily Naruto had caught her. Apparently she had fainted.
He got an idea. He took her to the nearest training grounds to give her some rest.
There was a nice big tree with branches that spread farther than most other trees. He decided he'd take her there so that she could be in the nice cool shade. He set her down slow and gentle. He didn't want her hair to get dirty, he knew how much women cared about their hair, so he place her head on his lap while he sat down.
He reached up to his cheek again.
A smile found its way up towards his face.
She squirmed a bit trying to get comfortable. He tried to stifle a giggle as she touched and hugged his leg like a pillow. He didn't want to wake her up, so he stayed as quiet as he could.
Some time had passed.
She stirred a bit.
*buddump*
He felt like his heart had jumped into his throat.
She started waking up.
Rubbing her eye like she usually did when she woke up, Hinata looked up and saw Naruto.
She looked down and saw her hand on his leg.
As she thought about it, her face became progressively redder.
A puff of smoke rose from her head.
"Are you ok?" He asked.
She fainted.
Naruto sweatdropped.
He didn't have to train today.
This was peaceful.
His eyes began to close. He was falling asleep. He absentmindedly placed his arm around her as the sleep consumed him.
A couple minutes later, Hinata stirred again. She began waking up.
She almost panicked at the close proximity, but she noticed he was asleep. Her memories kept flashing back to when his lips met with her cheek. She touched her own in response and then remembered when she kissed him on the cheek. She placed her head down. The boldness of something like that was to much for her.
She could feel the heat in her cheeks.
She looked back up again.
He was so close.
Normally, by now she would have fainted.
But at this time, he wasn't even conscious.
It was different.
She looked at him.
At his lips.
Inching closer and closer.
He stirred.
She jumped back at the sudden action. Her heart was racing.
Maybe she shouldn't do it while he was asleep. Besides, they had only started dating. She wouldn't want to ruin it. She had to calm down. Maybe some clan jutsu practice would help Keep her mind off of it.
She almost stood up.
His hand tugged on her sleeve.
*budump*
She didn't move.
She turned her head to look at him. He was still asleep.
Maybe it was a sign.
She wasn't as nervous as she would be when he was awake.
She turned around and leaned in.
Closer and closer.
She placed a hand on his chest carefully.
*budump*
Her lips were quivering.
Her heart was racing.
His lips finally met hers.
He opened his eyes and...
End... oh I am capital E.V.I.L dude.
