Just as Zach and I walk out of Denny's, my phone rings.

"Don't answer it." Zach said.

I sighed as I looked down at it to see Joe's name.

"It's not my dad, it's Joe," which was almost bad, "I have to answer. They definitely have an Eye on us."

Not waiting for Zach response, I answer my phone. "I'm fine."

"You won't be fine once I get a hold of you." Joe growled.

I just sighed, "You're the one that taught me how to escape. You brought it on yourself."

"And I can easily-" Joe was cut off by my phone beeping, "Is that your father?"

I look down at the caller id, "Yes. Gotta go bye."

"Cammie I'm not done with-"

I switch lines.

"I'm fine." I say to my dad. Zach leans against a pole studying me.

"Cameron you need to come home now."

"I think you're over reacting, father."

"Are you with that boy?"

"Yes."

"Hand him the phone." Did my eyes deceive me or did I hear relief in his voice?

"He wants to talk to you." I said to Zach, confused.

Zach nodded, as if he expected to talk to a man that could by one phone call have him killed.

Zach started to walk out of hearing distance. I started to follow him, but he held up his hand telling me to stay away. I almost listened to him until I realized he was talking to MY father. I marched my way over to him.

"A ball?" Zach said as he rolled his eyes at my defiance, "I'm sure Cammie would love to go, Mr. First Operative."

"Yes, I would love to go too sir. I look forward to meeting you." Zach said, "Okay, I promise I'll get her home safely. It was nice talking to you, sir."

I would have been proud of Zach for talking to my dad so calmly, but I was annoyed.

"What was that about?"

Zach slung his arm around me, leading me in the direction of my dorm.

"It looks like me and you have a date to go to, Gallagher Girl."

I know-really short. But I just had to update.
