"TAE! OH MY GOSH WE MESSED UP!"
Tae reluctantly removed her head from her pillow, rubbing her tired eyes. "Wha…" she murmured groggily, only half-awake as Dani tore her from bed.
"WE FRUDGED UP, TAE! FRUDGED. UP. Are you hearing me?!" she shouted, lightly slapping Tae's cheeks to wake her up a bit.
Tae peered at Dani through lidded eyelids. "What did we do wrong?" she asked hoarsely, a bit worried that she had forgotten an exam or missing essay that was due that day.
Dani looked freaked out and anxious. "We forgot to meet up with your boyfriend Claws-wait, that's his name,right?- and Iggy!"
Tae, suddenly having a lightbulb moment at this notion, leaped out of bed with an almost superhuman speed, grabbing the alarm clock and sprinting to the bathroom.
"IT'S 8:15 IN THE MORNING?!"
The petite girl shrugged, pulling on her Abercrombie sweatshirt over her ironed school uniform. "Don't sweat, we still have fifteen minutes until school starts, and you never know, Tooth might be there-''
"His name is Fang, Dani."
"Right, right, Fang. Sorry, that takes a little bit to get used to."
Tae rolled her eyes. "How do you get used to calling your notebook Bakageta notobukku yet you somehow forget how to call Fang Fang?" she muttered, pinning on her skirt and buttoning up her clean white uniform.
Dani pulled an offended face. "I can memorize Japanese well, but unless your boyfriend's name is Kiba, I can't remember his name even if my life depended on it." She thought for a moment. "Well, maybe if my life depended on it, I'd remember it better," she added, and Tae facepalmed.
She glanced at the clock, and realized they only had three minutes to get to class. "Dani, we're going to need to take the car," she said, grabbing her keys.
Dani's chocolate-brown eyes widened. "Wait…the car?" she asked, terrified.
Tae nodded boldly. "The car."
"The car as in the car that has a one-in-three chance of moving an inch, car? The one that sounds like a wheezing old man?"
"Just get in the car, Dani."
The two zoomed off through the woods (thank the Good Lord above the engine even started up), and arrived at their school with thirty seconds to spare. The girls sprinted down the hallways, quickly unlocking their lockers and snatching their books. After bidding each other brief goodbyes, they dashed off to their first period classes, P.E. and Science.
Tae raced off to Science, backpack only half-zipped and golden-brown hair flying behind her. She turned the corner and opened the door-
OOF.
Tae rubbed her head, books splayed out onto the tile floor. Who had she run into…
"What's with us and always bumping into each other?"
Oh no.
