A/N: I promise I haven't abandoned this story. DYWS just took priority for awhile since it's by far my most popular story. I'm pretty sure that once I get the ball rolling on this one it will be loved just as much. I know everyone is tired of the love triangle from hell by now, but I'm one of those selective few that loves a good love triangle storyline when done tastefully. Tastefully being the keyword here. This story will be messy, but I promise you'll enjoy the ride. Btw, don't forget to review, follow and favorite! Enjoy! (:
She used to hate mornings. Her alarm clock would rudely wake her up and she would stay hidden under her covers until the last possible second she could wait to get in the shower. Jenna would be yelling at her from downstairs that her breakfast was getting cold and she would spend the last ten minutes changing like ten times, because she couldn't decide between three different outfits. The only thing that made her mornings remotely manageable was coffee. Lots of it too.
"Triple, venti, extra foam Caramel Macchiato.."
Just the sight alone of that white and green coffee cup almost makes her cry. She wants to hug, kiss and kill him all at the same time. Hug him for bringing her coffee this morning, kiss him for bringing her Starbucks every morning since Freshman year, and kill him for taking so damn long today.
"What took you so freaking long anyway? Don't you know I have to have my fix every morning before class or I'm going to like.. die?" she complains and moans all at the same time after taking in the aroma of the heavenly drink.
"Uh, don't you know you can get your own damn coffee woman?"
Elena pouts at that and takes a few sips of her drink before responding, "Have I ever told you how much I love you?"
"Yeah yeah. Save it, Gilbert," he rolls his eyes and laughs a little.
She gives him a scowl and kicks him under one of the picnic tables outside their school just as the bell rings.
"Now now children, please be nice," Caroline tries to intervene but to no avail.
They all start gathering up their things and start to head inside in search of their lockers. All but Elena who's greedily slurping down the rest of her drink. She's had a bad morning; since Jeremy stole the bathroom first and left her without any hot water, not to mention the fact she wasted a good thirty minutes trying to find an earring she had lost down the sink. So needless to say she's not about to start school without getting her Starbucks fix. Absolutely not.
They start to leave her behind so she runs up to the dumpster to throw away her cup. It's then when she notices the digits meant for Stefan left behind from the barista on her coffee cup.
"Asshole! No wonder you were late with my coffee. You were flirting with the new girl there again weren't you?" she huffs in annoyance, making sure she was loud enough for him to hear her.
"So desperate giving out her number to you like that. Makes you wonder how many others she's done the same thing for?"
He turns around and flashes her a wide smile, "I love you too, Lena."
She wakes up today with a smile on her face, ready and willing to take on the day. Ironically enough it has nothing to do with coffee. She has given that up obviously for the pregnancy, so she has to wonder if her happy mood that morning has anything to do with the guy spooning her currently as if his life depended on it. His face nuzzled up closely to her neck while one hand is resting atop her small baby bump.
She thinks to herself that the moment can not be anymore precious but that's when she feels it. She can't help but giggle. Her laugh makes him slowly wake up and she can feel him stretch out behind her before letting out the most obnoxious yawn she's probably ever heard.
"Babe.."
"Mm I don't wanna get up," he whines like a little five year old and clings even tighter to her.
"I think you are already up," she snickers again, proud of herself of her clever little pun.
"What?" he asks, clearly not awake enough to put the pieces together.
"Already.. up.. nevemind-" she shrugs it off, knowing he'll eventually figure it out.
"Man what time did we sleep til?" he reaches over some to look at the clock but freezes an instant later.
"Oh shit! Oh God. Oh G-God.."
Just him reaching over her to look at the clock made him move enough to the point where she felt him poking her in the ass again. And if she felt it, she knows if he must of felt it as well. If that wasn't proof enough the look of poor horror washing over his face at the moment is exactly that. She starts rolling in fit of laughter as she watches him fall out of bed, grab the sheet and awkwardly wrap it around his waist before stumbling towards the bathroom all the while murmuring a long list of obscenities.
She doesn't know if it's the hormones or what, but halfway through his shower she finds herself biting her lip and staring at the door. Images of a soapy and naked Stefan consuming her thoughts. Did he take a cold shower or did he opt out and decide to just rub one out in the shower instead? Who did he think of? She decides they should probably have a talk about certain perks of them being in this fake relationship. She has needs, he apparently has them as well, they're adults.. so why the hell not?
She giggles for what seems like the hundredth time that morning before falling asleep. She asks him later that day about how his cold shower went and gets the dirtiest look she will probably ever get from him. That same night they begin getting ready for bed and he gets in on his side, as far from her as possible. She shakes her head and pulls him back in the exact position he was in the night before.
"Just because you get morning wood like a sixteen year old boy does not mean I get cheated out of cuddles. Abso-fucking-lutely not," she closed her eyes and smiles before drifting off to sleep.
