After an hour of drifting through meadow after meadow of flowers, they'd finally arrived at a town. Both of them stood at one of the towns entrances and just gawked at what was in front of them.
Kaiyan was the first to break the so far ten minute silence, "It seems the Island is aptly named."
Aokiji needed a minute to gather his thoughts "It would seem so."
Before them was town filled with French still buildings, every single home had a huge brass bell at its peak which equalled hundreds of bells across the entire village. The townsfolk wore little bells on their toes, bells on their wrists and the women wore bells in their hair. The entire town was tinkling with the music of chimes. Venders in markets sold bells and the patisserie sold individual cakes in the shape of a bell. The women wore elaborate 17th century French dresses and the men wore tuxes. All the clothing was in rich colours of crimson, royal purple, navy, white, cream, sunflower yellow, emerald green, all with embroided gold or silver thread. The town truly was a sight to behold.
"Wow, so colourful."
"Almost blinding."
"Those dresses are so cool… I want one!" With that, Kaiyan ran off into the vibrant crowd of people, darting between shop windows like a child in a toy store. Aokiji lowered his head and took a deep breath. "This is going to be a long day."
Soon, Kaiyan had disappeared into a shop and several minutes later emerged in a dark aquamarine gown lined with sapphire crystals around the neckline, waistline and hem, and was embroided with a glistening navy tread. The dress showed just enough of her cleavage to make her irresistible. The shop keeper not only helped her into her dress, but weaved her hair with the very same sapphire crystal and glittering navy thread that were on her dress. Aokiji let a small smile tug at his lips, impressed with her transformation from a seemingly giddy and playful little girl into a refined and elegant young woman (albeit her exterior only that was refined).
"This is so awesome. Look, my dress flies when I swirl around, see!" She began spinning in circles, her dress catching the wind and rising high enough to reveal her porcelain white calves.
"Mm, you fit right in."
"I know, right. This is so cool. I love adventuring." She kept spinning in circles, apparently not fazed by anything.
"Well, it's getting dark, we should find a place to stay."
"Okay!" She was ridiculously overenthused. She was loving the time she finally had to herself. Doflamingo would show up eventually, but it wouldn't be for another few days and by then, she would already be on her way to her next adventure. First thing in the morning, she'd head out to try and find Shanks. Luckily the Island was pretty small, so that shouldn't be too great a task.
