I'm someone who loves to enjoy life and tries to focus on real things and real friendships. That's why I live very simply. I'm a jeans and T-shirt kind of girl. I don't spend much time fixing myself up or trying to look cool. I live like a normal person and even though I'm in a very high-profile business, I really don't let it affect the way I live.

The team was gathered in the kitchen for breakfast, but Parker wasn't there. Finally, at ten, sixteen year old Parker walked by clad in her pajamas and wrapped up in a blanket. "Well," said Clint, "look who's awake at last."
Parker merely grunted, still trying to wake up. Steve sneezed. "God bless America," she muttered. Everyone turned and stared in shock. Never had Parker come up with such a quick witted remark.
"Teenage Parker is my favorite!" said Tony. "She's my new best friend!"

Elizabeth and Lily had gathered all of Avengers into the living room to talk about Parker's current situation. "Tomorrow," said Liz, "Parker will be to the point in her memories where we end up in this universe." The others nodded in understanding. "And the day after…" Elizabeth trailed off.
"She'll be eighteen," finished Lily.
Only Steve knew what this meant. "So she'll know about her battle…" he said. The two members of the Golden Trio nodded.
"Battle?" asked Bruce.
Elizabeth took a deep breath. "Not even Lily or I know the details," she said solemnly. "All we know is that when we were in Huston Texas – making our way to New York – she went missing." The Avengers were silent as Wonder told the story. "It was for eleven days, and when we found her, she was severely injured and half conscious in a ditch thirty-five miles out of the city." Elizabeth opened and closed her mouth for a bit, trying to find the words.
Lily took over. "She couldn't sleep for months. Even now she'll still have nightmares, but not nearly as often as she use to. She had one when she first changed, probably brought on by the stress of the physical and mental straining."
Clint and Tony shared a look. "We saw," Clint said. "Tony, Steve, and I went to check on her when she started screaming. That's why the window shattered and the room was torn apart."
Elizabeth nodded. "So until she hits age twenty-one, be…gentle…" she finished, not knowing how to phrase the ending.

Parker remained to herself for the next several days. The whole day she was sixteen she was only spotted a few times. At age seventeen, she sat on the couch for a while, sketching in her notebook that was in the box. Steve was walking behind the couch when he caught a glimpse of what she was working on his eyes widened a bit. It was a very intricate drawing of what seemed to be two Hobbits. The adult one was holding the child. Parker stopped mid-pencil stroke. "Hello," she said softly, somewhat annoyed.
Steve blinked. "Uh…hi…" he shook his head. "Sorry, I didn't mean to–"
"No," interrupted Parker, "it's…it's fine." She continued sketching, working on the ears.
"Are those Hobbits?"
"Young Frodo and Bilbo, yeah."
Steve nodded. "It's good," he complimented. "I didn't know you liked to draw."
Parker stopped and looked behind and up at the super soldier, her cheeks red and her ears pink. "Erm…thanks…Sorry, it's not everyday my art skills are complimented by Captain America."
Steve smiled and came around the couch to sit next to Parker. "I like to draw," he stated as Nightingale went back to her drawing.
"I know," she said.
Steve cleared his throat awkwardly. "Yeah…you probably would…"
Parker leaned back into the couch. "So what's it like?" she asked.
Steve raised an eyebrow. "Pardon?"
"Learning all of this about me."
Steve was silent for a while. "It's…interesting…you aren't the age you're suppose to be, so you don't have all the memories you should. With that, I can't talk to you about everything I would like to – not yet."
Parker nodded. "Since all of this doesn't involve time travel and telling me won't effect anything…can I ask you a question?"
"Of course," he said, turning more at an angle to face her.
Parker wrung her hands on top of her sketchbook. "Do I…did I ever see my parents or family again?"
Something stung Steve's heart. He paused. "Wesley's in this dimension as well–"
Parker sat up straighter, eyes wide. "He is?!"
Steve nodded. "He's at SHIELD right now, not sure why." Parker's excitement deflated a bit. "But I'm pretty sure he'll be back by tonight or tomorrow."
Parker's eyes lit up and she grinned widely. However, it went away quickly. "Is that it?" she asked quietly. "My parents? My sisters?"
Steve's eyes widened. "Um…not to my knowledge." She closed his eyes for a moment. "Sorry…I was unaware you had any other siblings than Wesley. In fact, until about two weeks ago, I didn't know you even had any."
Parker had a downcast gaze. "Two younger ones. Lizzy and Abby. They were twelve and eight last I saw them. Except for me and Wes, who are different by three years, we're all four years apart." She frowned. "I left on a bad note with them." She closed her eyes, keeping away tears. "I never got to apologize before I ended up here. And I didn't say goodbye to anyone…"
The two superheroes were both still and silent for a while. Steve pulled her into a tight hug, taking Parker by surprise. "I know what it's like," he whispered. "There are some things I wish I got to do and some things I wish I got to say. But I never did. And I never will. But I have to look forward now, because I know I can't go back."

When Wesley got back that evening, he was greeted by a crushing hug and tears from his sister. She babbled quite a bit through her sobs, but he couldn't make any of it out.
He simply hugged her back

When Parker was eighteen, they didn't see her all day. Sometimes one of the guys would try to get her to come out, but she simply sat on her bed with her back to the door, looking down at her lap. She was in this position every time someone went to check up on her. They decided against bothering her.
That night, Steve heard screaming and he had no doubt some of the others could hear it too. He jumped out of bed and hurried into Parker's room. She struggled around in bed wildly as she cried out. He comforted her until she calmed down.
He did that for the next two nights as well.

Finally, after a few more days, when Parker was back to normal, she spent the day with the both teams, doing all she could to catch up. She remembered everything of course, so no one had to explain, which was nice.
The day after her complete return, Wesley found her on the couch next to Steve, looking through her sketchbook. "Hey," he said happily.
Parker looked up at his towering, taller-than-everyone-she-knew-except-for-Thor brother. She smiled. "Hey. What's up?"
Wesley grinned. "Nothing much," he said casually, shrugging. "The usual. Recently had my sister go through an age crisis, met the Avengers, and joined SHIELD. You know, a normal week."
Both Steve and Parker looked at Wes in shock. "You were hired by SHIELD?!" Parker asked.
Wesley nodded. "Yep. They find my background 'interesting' and think my powers 'could be of use'."
Parker got up and hugged her brother. Wesley was taken aback. "I'm proud of you," she said. Wesley smiled awkwardly. Parker pulled away. "Well," she said, "I've got to go."
"Where are you going?" Steve inquired.
Parker shrugged. "Out. I haven't had a chance to do that since I first thought I was really a kid. I want to be an adult again for a bit."
Steve smiled. "That's understandable." He got up and gave her a quick peck. Wesley looked away awkwardly. "You think you can be back by four-thirty? Tony says he has a special dinner planned or something of the sort. I'm pretty sure it's a welcome back present for you and your team."
Parker smiled, holding Steve close. "No doubt." She said goodbye to her boyfriend and her brother before leaving.
Wesley shuffled his feet awkwardly. "It's not everyday you see you're younger sister – who became your older sister – kiss a superhero…"
Steve laughed. "You can come tonight, if you want," he offered. "I'm sure Stark wouldn't object."
Wesley shook his head. "Nah," he said. "This is your celebration. Besides, I have to go to SHIELD and do some polishing up of my hiring process." Steve nodded in understanding.

Everyone was at dinner at Parker's favorite place that evening as a celebration of everyone getting back to normal. It was on top of one of the skyscrapers close to Stark Tower and had one heck of a view. This made it very expensive, but they decided they might as well. Everyone sat at a large table together and chatted and laughed, happy that everything was as it was. But it wouldn't be for long.
Elizabeth stared at their waiter – Tom was his name – as he walked off after taking their orders. She smiled and the others caught her. "What?" she said innocently. "He's kinda cute!" The others simply chuckled and let her be.
"So," said Lily, "that whole experience gave me more than enough practice with kids." Parker glanced over, somewhat upset. "I'm pretty sure I'll be an expert when I have my first kid."
Tony looked at her. "You…want kids?"
Lily paused. "Well…yeah, eventually. I think it'd be nice."
Elizabeth smiled and looked over to Parker. "You?" she asked. "You relived every year. You'll be the perfect mother."
"No, I won't," Parker said, too quickly for anyone to let it go.
"What?" asked Lily. "Of course you will!"
"That…that's not what I mean…" Parker said, looking down at her lap. "I mean…I…" she held back tears. "…I won't even be a mother."
Everyone looked at her, very confused. "What do you mean?" asked Steve quietly.
"Yeah," said Clint to Parker, "you and Steve are getting pretty–"
"That's not what I mean either!" Parker snapped. The others backed off, surprised and worried. She took a breath. "What
I'm trying to say is…I can't have kids."
The table was silent. "What?" asked Elizabeth after a long silence. "When…When did you find out?"
Parker sighed, trying to stay calm. "Just this morning," she said quietly. "After I got back to normal I was kind of thinking about it. You know, about kids and all that." Steve put a comforting arm around Parker's shoulder. "I decided that I should go see a doctor and get that whole thing and whole process checked out since now's around the time I'll be getting married and start a family. I figured that I might as well learn when I should try, how hard it would be, how long it would take – stuff like that." She closed her eyes for a moment. "And then I found out." She shook her head. "Ever since I was a kid I wanted kids. And now…that doesn't…it isn't…there's…there's…" Parker wiped away a singular tear.
All the others stared at her in silence. After a few moments, Steve pulled her into a tight hug. Parker rested her head on his shoulder, trying to keep her tears at bay. "Things will be no different," he said softly. "This doesn't change anything."
"But it does," Parker said. "I know you want kids, but I can't give you that, so go find another woman who can…Why should you stay with me?" She let some tears fall.
"Because I love you," he said, "and nothing can change that." He stood up and held her hand. Parker stood too and Steve led her away from the table. "Do you want to make it official?"
The team's eyes widened. Parker looked at Steve in slight confusion. "Wh…um…Steve, what are you doing?" Some of the bystanders noticed and turned to watch. Clint slowly pulled out his phone to take a video.
"I suppose you're right about one thing," the super soldier said, "things will be different; but not in the way you think." Steve got down on one knee and Parker's eyes widened. He pulled out a small black box and held it open in front of Parker. Nightingale's hand flew to her mouth as her eyes landed upon a silver and diamond ring. It was simple, but nice, just the way Parker liked it. "Marie Kiehof, will you–"
"Yes," said Parker hurriedly.
"You didn't let me finish," Steve said with a smile. "Marie Kiehof…will you marry me?"
Parker began crying. "Yes," she choked out. "Yes, of course I will!" She rushed forward and hugged Steve while he was still kneeling on the ground. He stood up, still hugging her as the two teams (and a few bystanders) cheered. Parker cried into Steve's shoulder. "I know we won't be a normal family if we start one–"
"We will," said Steve. "I know it's been you're dream to have a family of your own and we can do that. There are other options."
Parker nodded. "Of course. Alright." She pulled away. "I love you," she said happily, brushing away tears.
"I love you too. And nothing can change that."
