Please excuse my laziness.

"What's that?"

"A cell phone."

"What's that?"

Randy frowned. He was actually, for some reason, doing his homework. He had left Howard's early, passing it off as a headache. After Howard gave him a strange look he'd walked home. The whole way home, he was trying to see if he could figure out how to talk to the Tengu. Randy needed to know how he got out so he could force him to stay in. He'd almost gotten hit by a car and ran into a stop sign because he wasn't paying attention.

"It's a device that allows people to talk to each other."

"How does it find the people?"

"Every device has a number, and when you type in the number, it can find them."

The Tengu was silent. Randy took the opportunity to do another math problem before the Tengu asked him another question. 'Okay so 27x-34=493... add 34 to 493 and then divide by 27...'

"What are you working on?"

Randy stopped typing into his calculator. "Homework."

"What is that? Work that you have to do from home?"

Randy clicked the 'Enter' button on his calculator and roughly set it down to write the answer on his paper. "Yep."

"That's irrational. Most human children would never submit to being forced to do schoolwork while not at school."

Randy laughed and copied down the next problem. "You're right."

"But not you."

Randy hmm'd but slowly stopped working on the problem. He squinted his eyes and sat up. "Yes, me. I would never do my homework. Most times I would barely slip by in a class to be able to pass."

He could feel the Tengu scoff within him. "You? The Ninja would never let himself fail. He is a student of discipline and hard work."

"You've been cooped up in that stone for too long." Randy stopped and his eyes widened. 'The stone...'

Randy felt his head start to pound. At first the small ache transformed into a splitting headache. He couldn't tell if he was screaming or not. He hoped he wasn't, as it would wake up his mom, but he doubted that he would be able to hold it back with all the pain. But as quickly as it came, the pain subsided. Randy's vision cleared and he noticed that he was clumped in a loose ball on the ground.

The first thing his eyes focused on was his hand. It was shaking and he couldn't feel it. He was laying on his side, face nearly buried in the floor. Trying to sit up, he noticed that he couldn't recall why he was on the floor. Finally managing to get one arm propped up and push himself up, he sat back onto his knees. Looking around his room, he didn't notice anything different. Looking at the floor, he laughed.

"Homework." I was doing homework. I was actually attempting to do homework. 'Explains why I passed out; I couldn't bear the thought of doing it.' I slammed the textbook closed and shoved the papers off to the side and climbed up my ladders to go to bed. Halfway up, I went back down. Running to the hall closet right outside my door, I grabbed a few extra winter blankets.

Once again reaching my bed, I curled in the 3 comforters. "Goodnight Tengu."

... I'm sorry for this chapter. I would delete it if I had something else to replace it with but I don't. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Please stick around for hopefully better chapters. Forgive me for this one. Please help me with ideas. I'm begging you.
