Nina's POV

"So Nina," Patricia started after I sat down in the school lounge. "What's up with you and the newbie?"

"You mean Eddie?" I laughed. MY stomach did flips just at the sound of his name...as cliché as that sounds.

"Sure...you two have been spending a lot of time together lately."

"Yeah," I replied." I guess we have" Gee it's only been a week since Eddie got here: yet it feels like I've known him my whole life.

"Do you think you'll tell him about Sibuna?"

Sibuna. The mystery. I've only just met him, I can't ask him to involve himself in this.

I looked up seeing him walk into the room like he owned the place. I smiled when he winked at me and turned back to Patricia.

"I don't know."

Patricia's POV

Look at how she looks at him. She definitely likes him. He's only been here a couple of days and Nina is all over him. They have all their classes together, they always are talking to each other and it's almost as if Nina has forgotten all about the mystery that she was so determined to figure out. All because of that dumb ninny, Eddie...

Well I guess he isn't all that bad...

It's kinda cute how he spikes his hair up and gives everyone that killer smirk of his.

And I hear he likes Sick Puppies, another plus.

SNAP OUT OF IT PATRICIA! YOU CAN'T LIKE EDDIE! Nina likes Eddie and she's you friend. I though mentally chastising myself.

"Screw Nina." I mumbled to myself. She's got Fabian.

...But I'll be more than glad to take Eddie off her hands...

Eddie's POV

"Alright Edison, what information have you got for us?" Victor asked, standing beside my father in the head master's office.

"Well...I over heard them talking the other night. Something about the elixir and finding the real one."

"And the other children have no suspicions that you are working alongside us?" my father asked. I nodded.

Victor looked over to my dad. "I'm sorry I doubted you, Eric. You passed your great thinking to your son after all."

I walked out of the school bout a half an hour later only to be bombarded with...Amber?

"So ,Eddie," she started as she hooked her arm around mine." You do know the school dance is coming up right?"

"Amber, where are you going with this? I asked, very amused

"I was just wondering.."

"Yeah?"

"If you were gonna..."

"I don't have all day Amber."

"Ugh, you're no fun." She decided. "I was wondering if were going to ask Nina to the dance."

Gee I never thought about it. Nina and I have hardly even talked about the dance. She's got her mysteries and I've got my dad.

"Yeah...I was thinking about it. But don't tell her." Amber smiled widely.

"Eep! Okay, Eddie. I promise." She skipped away with her blond hair whipping around in the breeze.

Later_

Nina sat across from me as we did our homework in the common room. Her hair fell over her face, occasionally her eyes would peak out. She seemed so calm around me. Like she could trust that I'd never do anything to harm her. Her wrists worked effortlessly as she wrote in her elegant print. This girl did something to me. She made me take a pause from my player lifestyle.

I'm pretty sure she's the only girl I've looked at since I've been here.

She's tamed the un-tamable Eddie Miller.

She's special.

"Hey," whispered Nina, breaking me from my trance."

"Yeah?" I responded.

"Have you ever thought about..I don't know..Egyptian Mythology. I mean have you ever thought of it being real?"

I was taken aback by the question. Coming from her, the leader of this Sibia or whatever club, this could only lead one way. "I don't know," I tell her finally.
"It's possible..Have you?" She looked away from me as if she was thinking hard.

"The thing is, Eddie, I know it's real."

"Wait, what?" I was intrigued now.

"I was chosen to find some sort of cup. It's supposed to grant eternal life. The only thing is, I don't know why I was chosen. I've never done anything special. Heck I don't even believe in mythology, I was raised a Christian. But...I guess I just wanted to know what you thought about it...Probably think I'm crazy."

"N-not at all Neens. I mean, when I came to this school I knew something was off. Every house is named after an Egyptian God. the school is Amun-Ra Academy. But if what you say is true, then I'd be more than happy to help you find the answers you need." I grabbed her hand in mine, she seemed to relax.

"Thank you ,Eddie." she smiled. "I guess it's time for you to meet Sibuna. Come on out you guys." In walked Fabian, Amber, Alfie, and Patricia.

"I guess that means the newbie's in." Yacker commented.

"Welcome to the group, Eddie!" Amber exclaimed.

"Same here, man." Alfie added.

I waited for Fabian's comment, but he remained quiet. I guess he wasn't so happy that I was part of the group now since it was kinda Nina and his thing.

"We'll have initiation at 4 tomorrow. Bring something that's important to you. Fabian will walk with you." Nina stated.

"It's 10 o'clock-" Victor boomed.

Nina walked over to me and gave me a tight hug, I returned it. "That's for helping."

"Anything for you." Even after I said them, the words swam around in my head. Not only had I broken her trust, but I had made a promise that a spy should never make.

But what hurt the most, what irked me to the very center of my being-is that I meant it; I'd do anything for Nina..in this life or the next.
