The city seemed deserted, there was garbage everywhere, wrecked vehicles, old blood whose stains could be taken for anything.
Cities all over the planet probably looked the same.
What happened you ask? The answer is simple, xenomorphs. They destroyed the entire planet in 3 weeks. This was possible because this planet, Hephaestus 3, had one supercontinent called Pandora.
It started innocently, with a series of disappearances, and then a full-blown invasion.
Many became hosts to the aliens, many died, and a few managed to escape the planet.
Unfortunately, Jason was not included in the third group , fortunately, he wasn't in the second group either.
Yes, in the first days of the alien invasion, the facehugger caught him, but he was transported to the hospital where the alien who managed to escape into the ventilation was removed.
He barely survived, but he survived. The only thing that bothers him to this day is a slight chest pain.
Now Jason was sneaking towards the military base hoping to find the coveted spaceship there. He'd already searched two of the five and was slowly losing hope. True, the ships were at these two bases, but they were either destroyed or required several people for a successful interplanetary flight.
He reached the walls of the base and entered through the destroyed defensive wall. There were several buildings and watchtowers. He headed for the canteen, always looking for food first, if strangers showed up at least he wouldn't return to the shelter empty-handed.
After packing military rations into a large rucksack, he headed for the hangar. Before he entered, he noticed the mucus on the door.
He was pulling out the machete he found in the body of a dead Xenomorph on the first day of scavenging. It was resistant to acid, and since he had a knack for modification, he upgraded it with a special device that heats it red hot.
He also had a modified pulse rifle. It had no stock, sights, or front grip. This made it possible to use it with one hand.
He entered cautiously and looked around, there was a vehicle on a lift at the back of the hangar. He was of medium size, he hoped it was a model that only required a remote control. And that he wasn't badly broken, spaceships were never his strong point, he could only do basic repairs and maintenance.
He knew he was being watched, it felt almost like a touch, when he felt a subtle movement of air, he reacted instantly and fired.
The roar of the gunshot was almost deafening in the silence.
Alien howled as bullets hit its right side, Jason moved out of its flight path and swung the machete at the base of its tail, severing it.
Alien landed and spun around with an angry screech. Their attacks might seem chaotic and wild, but if you get plenty of opportunities, you'll notice a pattern.
It looked almost comical as Jason dodged Alien's attacks.
He shot the alien three times in the chest, and cut Achilles tendon . Alien fell and Jason quickly ended up severing his head.
In the distance, he heard a distant hiss.
- Shit. He thought.
He ran out and headed for town. He had intended to go back there, but now he had to run. He could handle one, maximum two aliens. As soon as he ran away, at least 9 of them fell into the hangar.
He didn't know he was being watched.
