Chapter 9
In so much as Jacob and Renesmee have consented to live together forever in marriage, and have witnessed the same before this company, having given and pledged their troth to each other, and having declared same by the giving and receiving of a ring, I am joyous to present to you, the loving couple, Mr. and Mrs. Black."
He smiled, and looked between the two of us.
"You may now kiss the bride."
I looked up at my now-husband's eyes, and suddenly, the butterflies vanished, for good. He stepped closer, and grabbed my waist, pulling me close to his body. He looked into my eyes, and down at my lips, biting his own. Looking into my eyes again, he smiled.
"Renesmee?" He whispered.
"Yeah?"
He grabbed my face gently, leaning in. "I love you."
His lips brushed against mine, and it was as if thousands of fireworks started around us. It had started off as a gentle kiss, but once I opened my connection, it became aggressive. I wrapped my arms around his neck, digging my fingers into his soft hair. I licked his lips, and he allowed entrance.
He pulled away from the kiss, resting his forehead against mine. In the background, I heard the celebratory claps of our families. But soon, everything around us faded, and it was just me and him.
xXx
We stood for a few moments, in only each other's company.
"I love you," I grinned.
"I love you, too, Mrs. Black," Jacob replied.
I felt the heat rise to my cheeks, and electricity shoot up my spine. I was going to have to get used to my new name.
Renesmee Black.
There was a few more moments between us, before the light strum of an acoustic guitar reminded us that there was still a group of people behind us, waiting for us to walk back down the aisle as a married couple.
"Ready?" Jacob whispered.
"Ready,"
I took my hand in his, and we turned, facing the crowd. Rachel handed me my bouquet, and began to walk back down the petal-covered aisle way.
Marry me.
Today and every day.
Marry me.
If I ever get the nerve to say "Hello" in this café
Say you will,
Mhm-mm
Say you will…
Everyone stood as we walked down the aisle way. The song faded in the background as Jacob and I made it into the church's foyer. A Piano Guys cover of a classical piece faded over Train, and served as background music, as everyone surrounded us with their congratulations. It felt like the night of the bonfire all over again.
Before long, Alice had begun to drag Jacob and I away, saying something about the photographer and couple pictures. She loaded us into the limo, and met us at a park that had a view of the Puget Sound, and the Seattle skyline. Half-way through the couple pictures, everyone in the attending parties showed up, and we did a few pictures as a group. After an hour, Alice shoved us all back into the limos, and sent us off to the hotel for the reception.
I kicked off the stilettos with a groan, unclipping my veil and wrapping it up. "That's better."
"Here," Jacob took my feet in his lap, beginning to rub them. He dug his thumbs into the soles of my feet, and I moaned softly.
"You are the best," I relaxed against the door of the limo.
"Anything for my Queen," he placed gentle kisses on my toes.
"We're married now!" I giggled, sitting back up in the seat.
"I guess that makes you my wife," Jacob smiled, and pulled me in for a kiss.
"And that makes you my husband," I responded, pulling away from the kiss, resting my forehead against his.
Before long, we arrived at the hotel, where Alice was waiting for us outside the main entrance.
"Come on, you two lovebrids," she chimed, opening the door. "Everyone's waiting for you."
"We shouldn't keep our guests waiting," I kissed Jacob one last time, before taking Alice's hand and stepping outside the limo.
"I'll take those for you," Alice smiled, reaching for the shoes and veil. "I got you shoes for the reception, too."
She handed me a pair of white ballet flats, which I gratefully took.
"You're the best, Alice." I smiled, giving her a quick hug.
I used her shoulder as balance, as I slipped on the shoes. Jacob got out of the limo, and took my hand. Alice smiled, looking between us.
"You guys ready?"
I looked at Jacob, and he looked at me. "Ready," we said together.
Alice turned, and led us into the building, and to the double doors that led to the reception hall. She took a deep breath, and pushed open the doors. The music stopped playing, and I heard Emmett's booming voice over the room.
"For the first time, ladies and gentlemen, I would like to welcome the new couple, Jacob and Renesmee Black!"
Jacob and I walked into the room, and everyone burst into cheers and claps. Everyone was eager to give us their congratulations for the umpteenth time, and the music was turned back on.
"Renesmee," I recognized Charlie's voice from behind me. I turned to find my grandfather standing behind me.
I let go of Jacob's hand, and almost ran into Charlie. "I've missed you." I wrapped my arms around him, and rested my head in his shoulder.
"You look beautiful," Charlie said, returning the hug. "Just like your mother."
"Thanks," I smiled, feeling my cheeks turn bright pink. I left the hug, and held him at arm's length.
"I didn't think you were coming," I commented.
"And miss my granddaughter's wedding?" He chuckled. "I wouldn't miss this for the world."
I pulled him back into a hug. "Thank you."
"You're welcome, sweetie." I felt his shoulders rise as he laughed.
He gave me a kiss on my cheek, and returned me to Jacob. "Save a dance for me, will you?"
"Of course," I smiled.
He nodded, and walked off, going to talk to Mom.
"Alright, it is time for the bride and groom to share their first dance," The DJ announced. "Clear the floor!"
Everyone cleared a large space for Jacob and I. He wrapped his arm around my waist, and too his other hand in mine. My free hand was wrapped over his shoulder. Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw Emmett give me a wink.
The music began, and Jacob began to lead me in a waltz that matched the tempo of the song.
Whether near or far
I'm always yours.
Any change in time
We are young again.
"I didn't know you could waltz," I giggled softly. I almost felt like Cinderella dancing with the prince.
"Ask your father about it," he smiled, looking down at me.
I smiled, and rested my head against the crook of his neck.
Lay us down;
We're in love,
We're in love.
In these coming years,
Many things will change,
But the way I feel
Will remain the same.
"Did I tell you that he had me dip him?"
"Maybe if you showed me…"
"My pleasure," Jacob spun me during the piano break, and pulled me back. Resting his hand against the small of my back, he let me fall slightly, holding onto my back, and my hand. He pulled me back up after a few moments. I smiled like mad.
"He taught you well," I noted.
"I would do anything for you," he winked.
When the song was over, he pulled me close to his body, and kissed me softly. I rested my head in the crook of his neck, as the song changed and everyone got back on the floor. We remained like this for a few moments, until I felt a tap on my shoulder.
"May I have the dance you promised?" Charlie asked when I turned. He looked over to Jacob.
"Go ahead," Jacob kissed my cheek. "I promised Elizabeth I'd give her a dance."
He left, and Charlie took me in his arms. I wrapped my arms around his neck, and he wrapped his high around my waist.
"It's been a while," I commented, as we began to sway to the music.
He nodded. "It has."
I smiled lightly. Charlie was still a man of little words, and I liked that. We danced together for the rest of the song, until the Dad/Daughter dance was called. Daddy tapped on my shoulder, and formally asked for a dance, referring to me as "Mrs. Black".
"Daddy, you don't need to call me that," I smiled, as he took my hand, leading me in the dance.
"It's your name now, love." He said, as the song began.
Gotta hold on easy as I let you go,
Gonna tell you how much I love you, though you think you already know.
I remember you looked like an angel, wrapped in pink, so soft and warm.
You've had me wrapped around your finger since the day you were born…
"I'm still your little girl, though." I smiled, looking up at him.
Daddy chuckled lightly, with a sad smile. "But, it's time for me to let you go. To me, you're always going to be a little girl. But you've grown up now, and it's time for you to be with Jacob as his wife."
I sighed, resting my head against his cold shoulder. "I love you, Daddy."
He kissed my forehead. "I love you, too, Little Bug."
"Did you really teach Jacob how to waltz?" I smirked.
"Worst mistake of my life."
I laughed, and Daddy led me in a twirl as the song ended.
Soon, dinner was served, which meant that it was time for speeches. Alongside Rachel and Paul, it seemed like everyone had something to toast. The rest of the night was spent making jokes, sharing memories, and being around family.
It had been a good night, but it had also been long. Everyone left around eleven, with last congrats and well-wishes. Alice checked Jacob and I into the Honeymoon Suite, where we would spend the next two nights, until our flight to the destination honeymoon left.
I collapsed against the bed, feeling dead. I felt the weight on the bed shift, and turned to find Jacob lying next to me. I smiled, taking his hand in mine.
"I still can't believe we're married," I sighed.
I heard Jacob chuckle. "That might take some getting used to," he agreed.
I heaved myself off of the bed. "Can you help me get out of this?" I pulled my hair over my shoulder, feeling it crinkle as it moved under the weight of the hairspray.
I heard the springs in the bed creak, and Jacob's warm hands over my shoulder. "Of course," he replied sensually.
"Honestly, all I want to do is shower and sleep." I said, catching up to Jacob's mood.
"I know it's our wedding night and all, but today was just so exhausting. Running around everywhere, rushing to get ready…I've been looking forward to this bed since the moment I woke up."
"That's fine," Jacob said, beginning to untie the ribbons on the dress's back. "If you're not up for anything tonight, we don't have to do anything tonight. If you want, though, I can order some dessert, and a movie, and we can just stay in bed."
"I'd like that," I smiled.
Jacob finished untying the back, and helped me step out of the dress. I left him in the room as I went into the bathroom, getting ready for my shower. I counted the bobby pins as I pulled them out; Alice had used a little over one hundred to secure my hair for the day. I laughed to myself, thinking about how long she had been planning my hairstyle.
I turned on the shower, and stepped in, feeling relaxed as the hot water hit my aching muscles. I moaned softly, letting the water roll over my back, steam already beginning to rise. I was sure that this shower was comparable to sex.
I took my time washing my hair and my body, making sure that I was ridding myself of the hairspray and body glitter. Nearly an hour passed by the time I had finished. I turned off the stream, and grabbed a towel, gently patting my skin dry. I put on a pair of panties and a bra, and wrapped my hair in the towel.
Jacob was already in bed, a sundae in his lap. "I think I just figured out Victoria's secret," he smiled.
"Shut up," I laughed, slapping his arm gently, as I curled into bed next to him.
"So, I found Drop Dead Gorgeous on Pay-Per-View," Jacob kissed the top of my head.
"Mhmm," I smiled softly, curling myself around Jacob's body. I could feel my eyelids begin to droop.
I felt Jacob's body quiver with a small laugh, and the click of the 'Select' button on the TV.
Sarah Rose knows you're a beautiful person…
I smiled contently, knowing that although today had been exhausting, it had been wonderful. Realizing that today, I had gotten married to my best friend. That I would spend the rest of my life with him; and I couldn't help but feel butterflies in my stomach. I was happy, and so was Jacob. And right now, it was the only thing that mattered.
Today had been long; and it was exhausting. But it had been the best day of my life.
