"Sir..? Hello? Yoohoo? Leon? LEON? LEON!"
The vacant look from the tall Brunette vanished almost instantly as he snapped back into reality, "Whuh?" he answered stupidly.
The short raven haired girl puffed up her cheeks and poked her finger into his chest none too lightly and scolded "Hmph! You know, we've been friends for six years now…SIX YEARS!"
Leon cleared his throat and straightened out his suit, "So…?"
"So…SPIT IT OUT! You were obviously thinking about something, important enough to ignore your debriefing, gosh what would you do without me."
Raising an eyebrow he chuckled, "That's why I have you Secretary Kisaragi. I was just thinking about him."
A flash of recognition flashed across the Tomboys face, she was stunned and at a loss of what to say. It wasn't the first or the last time this had happened.
"It's alright Yuffie. You look like a fish!" He smiled softly and turned to face the stunning view that his office allowed in his seventy two floor building, it was a stunning building that towered over the rest of the city, yet he was one of the few in his workplace that had an unrestricted view to the east side that faced the suburban hometown he and his brother used to belong to.
Without turning back around, he spoke, "I've already made arrangements."
The former ninja snapped out of her daze, "W-Wait what? The upcoming meeting with Shin-ra inc?" she questioned, her eyes wide with fear. It took up to three weeks to put together her current plan for the business meeting and ball afterwards.
"No, left that task specifically up to you. I trust you have completed it to perfection?" The long haired brunette male questioned with a ghost of a smirk.
"Of course I have Leon! Jeez who do you think I am? I'm Yuffie Kisaragi damn it!" The energetic girl stomped her foot down childishly, slightly insulted that he would even have a shred of doubt. Despite her childish personality she was extremely competent.
"Was only teasing, relax. I meant…for Sora." He turned around to face her with a dark look, "He's alive."
It was at this moment, the large wooden doors burst open in front of him, several men in black suits came stumbling in, out of breathe and wheezing. Leon raised his eyebrows expectantly, waiting patiently for his officers to calm down.
"We…We found him sir!"
Yuffie was the first to react, "WHAT?! WHERE?!" she roared quickly marching up to the man and demanded. Her sudden actions and the realisation that they were not alone caught the officer off guard, looking between both Leon and Yuffie, unsure if his superior would appreciate the privacy.
Quickly reassuring him, he listened on as the man continued and explained the events that had transpired, keeping a stony and hard face. Ignoring the gasps coming from his friend, he dismissed the man, thanking him for his hard work.
His dark haired friend recomposed herself and sat down across from him, leaning in slightly to study him sharply. Ten minutes had barely passed since the discovery of Sora's location and Leon had yet to say a thing.
"What do you want to do about this?" Yuffie asked solemnly, she was in dangerous territory now, despite his stony appearance, he was without a doubt unstable emotionally.
A few more minutes passed by, and his stony façade soon began to show cracks, nostrils flaring and a fire in his eyes, he murmured back, "I already made plans. Crush them."
Without so much as a nod and a shiver, she muttered, "I'll have the papers on your desk by tonight. We'll begin with their shares." With that, she turned and left the office, leaving the furious brunette behind in his chair.
...
"It's all your fault…" A soft whisper echoed through the dark world, bouncing off what seemed like the walls. "All your fault….all your fault!"
A second voice soon joined followed by more in the chant, the eerie voices continued to taunt the red head in the center of the dark world, progressively getting louder until it was a roar.
"ALL YOUR FAULT! ALL YOUR FAULT! ALL YOUR FAULT!" They jeered followed by crazy cackles of laughter.
"No…NO! STOP!" the red head cried, covering her head and collapsing onto her knees, desperately trying to block out the voices. "STOOOOPPPP! I'M SORRY!" her voice becoming shrill. Tears flowed freely from her eyes and down her smooth cheeks, as they touched the black floor, yellow orbs began to form and crawl.
As the jeering grew worse, taunting her cowardice and her lack of sympathy, the yellow orbs began to multiply and take form physically. Swarming together and forming a gruesome blob before metamorphosing into a humanoid form, but where the eyes were supposed to be, were only yellow orbs.
It was all too familiar, the spiky hair and lips resembled someone so closely, yet she just couldn't pin it down. Covering her ears as it let out a horrible screech, "TRAAAITTTORRRR!" the horrible black figure sprinted towards her.
Her voice caught in her throat as the figure raced towards her, with claws out and sharp teeth. With a few leaps and bounds like a rabid animal it had closed the distance, before its unfortunate victim could even react she found herself pinned to the floor. Excruciating pain ran up her shoulders, with a gasp she realised the figure had pierced her shoulders with its claws.
Looking up in a mixture of horror and pain, her eyes widened as she recognized the appearance. A small squeal of pain escaped her lips as it twisted their claws into the wound, emanating a small chuckle from the monstrous being that took the form of Sora.
"W-Who a-a-are you?" she managed to stammer out, earning a growl of disapproval from the monster.
It leaned in to the fearful red-head, until the foul stench was all she could breathe, "Me…? I'm…So-"
"KAIRI!" a voice roared through the eerie dimension, causing cracks, slowly as her name was continually called out, eventually shattering the darkness into light.
Her eyes snapped open and she looked around fearfully, unaware her blurry vision was due to the tears from her eyes. As something white flew towards her eyes, she instinctively shut her eyes tightly.
"You're awake." A soft yet familiar voice murmured, as they dabbed at Kairi's wet eyes.
With a groan, she weakly pushed herself up, "Where…am I?" she mumbled, shaking her head.
"Hospital, careful you've been out for a bit."
She turned to face the voice, staring at him for a short moment, "Roxas…why are you here? I-" Kairi cut off as the memories came flooding back in, paling significantly.
"Easy now, you passed out, guess the trauma is blocking your memory." The light brunette turned and wringed out a towel till it was dry, turning back to face her he offered the towel gingerly.
"Th-Thanks…" her voice was barely a whisper; she was still attempting to piece together the fragments. With a quick snap she lifted her head up to look into Roxas's stony eyes, "Where is he?!"
Fidgeting slightly, he met her eyes sternly, asked in a strangely calm tone, "Who?"
"Him! The…The lunatic! Murder, torturer, depraved sick son of a bitch or whatever you want to call him!"
The tired teenager turned away, his back facing her, "Payne. He's dead…." He paused for a moment, hearing Kairi let out a sigh of relief and a small cheer, as the experience finally caught up to him, his fists balled up and struggled to hold back the tears, he managed to blubber out, "So…So is Sora…"
A/N: KEKEKEKEKE I am so evil. Please do not kill me 3.
