Since Taiga knew that Crystal was someone that you didn't want to piss off, he was scared. Maybe a bit more than scared. He shook in terror when he recalled all of the times that he made her mad; they never turned out well.
Especially when he had to go to school in a dress with a wig on. It's amazing how much he could look like a girl in a middle school boy's eyes.
Pink suited his red eyes, apparently.
"Taiga, what are you doing, missing out on family dinner?" Mr. Momoka asked, sounding dejected.
"Dude, I swear, you made Crystal almost cry. She cooked a great dinner before you canceled on us." Misaki sighed, exasperated. "What kind of guy misses out on good food? Or are you a girl?"
"Shut up, shortie." Kagami scowled. "I had to play basketball."
"That's the oldest trick in the book, kitty."
"Don't call me that, you little flower."
"Thanks, stupid, for complimenting me."
"Oh my gosh, shut up. We're here for a game, not to argue like children. Don't act like children." Crystal scolded as she hit them on their backs, not tall enough to reach their heads just yet. The two apologized after she had managed to clip their shoulder blades with the clipboard.
"Ma'am, yes ma'am!" Misaki shouted, raising her left arm against her temple in mock solute. Her blue hair was whipped up in a high ponytail to stay out of her face.
"Drop the act, Misaki. We're here to play basketball, not play soldier." Haru commented. He shook his head, his inky black bangs resting on his forehead. His teammates nodded along with him, ready for the game to start to see just how good the cousin of their ace and manager is. Misaki sighed exasperatedly. Bantering with her best friend that she hasn't seen in a while was heaven to her. Who wouldn't?
"Yes, your majesty."
"Are they serious? Putting a girl in? I don't care if she is Kagami's cousin; she shouldn't be on the court with boys. It's suicide." Hyuga muttered. Unfortunately, the mutter wasn't as much of a mutter as he would've liked. Kagami glared at his captain.
"Of course they are; Misaki is good, captain." He told him, glaring all the while. It brought back memories of middle school in America whenever someone talked down to his family. Living through that once was fine, thank you very much.
"I can prove it to you, if you want me to." Misaki grinned as the gym's attention shifted from Hyuga to her in less than a second. "So what of it, 'cap? Want to see my skills? Who knows, I might be even than blue over there."
"It depends on what you're talking about, skill wise." Crystal spoke up. "On quietness, he's better than you. Though, you seem to be focused on the game, anything outside the shooting and maneuvers isn't in your skill level."
"That was a compliment, sis."
"It sure didn't sound like it."
"Alright!" Mr. Momoka interrupted, not wanting the two teams to watch a cat fight. "Let's get this game started. Misaki. Crystal. Keep in mind that we are in public. Please don't embarrass our family."
"Yes, dad." Both the girls grumbled, looking at their feet in shame. Their father sighed, making the girls look up at him.
"Go warm up, Misaki. Crystal, let's sit on the bench."
"Yes sir!"
"Wake up! Dai-chan! Tetsu-kun texted me about having a game in his gym!" A pink girl called to her childhood friend. Said person was ignoring her, trying to get some shut-eye.
"Did he even invite us, Satsuki?" Aomine's voice sounded annoyed, not that Momoi even cared.
"Yes! I promise that it will be interesting!" Momoi pleaded.
"And what makes you think that?" Aomine drawled, yawning. I wish I could go back to sleep. But someone's not letting me.
"Kagami's cousin from America is going to play him!" Momoi blurted. A family member of the redhead? Maybe the boring life he once had was going to get even more interesting.
Aomine and Momoi were out the door before you could say 'basketball'. Not that Aomine wanted to go to the game.
Author's Note:
I'm sooooooooooo sorry! I forgot all about this story because of school being so stressful. Thanks for reading it, anyway!
Aniqua1234: Thank you so much for reviewing! I'm glad you like it!
Also, I would like to have some feedback on who I should pair with Misaki. I'm stuck between two, and I would like to have the reader's input. I only have two, but feel free to add any that you would like to be with Misaki.
-Aomine
-Jake (I'll probably be introducing him in the next two chapters, but he used to be Misaki's boyfriend until he betrayed her.)
Thanks again!
