By the time Aomine and Momoi had shown up, the game had already started. The heat of the room and the smell invaded their senses. Of course, staying inside of a gym half their lives made it so the warmth that would be too much for some people with the stench seemed like home to the childhood friends. They looked around the gym, observing the people on the court. Imagine the surprise when they caught sight of Misaki on the court.
Even better; Misaki driving past Kagami and dodging Kuroko's hands to stop him from grabbing the ball.
A girl? This is a girl that is beating Tetsu and Kagami? What is this world coming to?
"This sucks. I lost to a team that is a losing to a girl." Aomine grumbled. He grunted when Momoi slapped him on the back of his head.
"Shush! Her team beat Kirisaki with a score of 93-50, Dai-chan. She's good-no great even."
"I'm glad that you think of my sister so highly. Please don't say that to her face, though. Her ego will inflate; she's enough to handle as it is." A voice came from nearby. The cotton candy haired friends looked over in the direction of the voice to see the white haired girl watching the game. Her silver eyes looked over at them in interest.
"Hello!" Momoi greeted in her usual cheerful manner. "I'm Momoi Satsuki and this is my friend Daiki Aomine. What's your name?"
"Crystal Momoka. I'm Misaki's sister. We're the cousins of Kagami. It's nice to meet you, Satsuki-san." Crystal smiled at them before she went back to watching the game.
"No need for formalities! Just call me Momoi." Crystal nodded in Momoi's direction, watching her sister steal the ball from her cousin. Until she got stuck from the three players guarding her, making Misaki have to pass to Minga.
"This is going to test the whole team, no matter what they thought." Crystal muttered.
"Depending on their Ace isn't how our team usually plays, anyway." Mr. Momoka sighed. "Why is it so different when Misaki is on the court?"
"It's probably because how much she's dragged their butts in gear whenever they seemed to land in a tough spot." Crystal shared a sigh with her father.
Misaki tsked at the situation she was in. Her teammates weren't looking as sharp as they were supposed to be. She couldn't help them when she was surrounded. How was she going to get out of this one? Trick them with thinking that a flying bird was in the gym, hoping that they would fall for it? High school students usually don't fall for those tricks.
She would have to store that idea for later.
The one idea would be to escape silently. She only needed a distraction. A great one. But what?
Of course, one of Miskai's partner in crime chose that moment to catch her eye. The mischievous glint in his eye had her grinning from ear to ear. Ayumu had a plan. And it was the one that she was looking for.
Ayumu did the unexpected to even Misaki.
He stole the ball from his teammate.
That must be the hint. I guess. Misaki ran around the three people stopping her from stealing the ball back from her friend. She smirked as she ran past the troublemaker, stealing the ball as she got past him. Running towards the goal with the beat of her fast footsteps surrounded her. The goal was in sight. speeding up the beat, she jumped at an angle that would have been impossible to dunk with.
Good thing that Minga was already at the correct height, seeming to read her mind. He grabbed the ball mid-air as she threw it into his palm. They both shared a smile for a split second, knowing that they had gotten the acknowledgment of the opposing team.
"How was that for a girl?" Misaki taunted. "Good enough?"
"That was only good because we practiced that shot a million times, Misaki. Thank god we did." Minga told the gold-eyed ace.
"Yeah, thanks, you two." Misaki laughed. Grinning at her two partners in crime, holding her hands up for a high-five from each. They grinned, Ayumu slapping her left hand and Minga slapping her right hand.
