So here's the next chapter. I know it was short but it's been forever since I've updated and Im working my way up. So here it is.
Chapter 12: Home Sweet Home
Davis's P.O.V
So now I have to sit in a hospital room for a few hours. Yay...I said sarcastically.
"So...how long was I out?" I asked. "About an hour and a half" Dad said. I groaned. Man! I hate hospitals. I also hate this stupid cathader! "How much longer am I staying here?" I asked. Dad sighed and took out his phone.
"2 hours. Why don't you just take a nap or something?" He said. I was pretty much dead for an hour and he wants me to go to sleep!?
"You know, i think the cafeteria has good food so why don't we all run down there and get you some food and bring it back up?" Tasha asked. "Sounds good" Dad said. Tasha, Adam, Bree, Chase, Leo, and Dad walked out of the room leaving me alone. Im starting to see why they put me up for adoption in the first place. I layed back and my phone began ringing.
"Can't the world just shut up!?" I reached over and picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Hey Davis, it's Dylan, you know you were just on the news?"
"Yeah, Im also in a hospital so..."
"What happened?"
"My lungs shut off or somethign I can't remember, but Im fine now"
"Good, well not about the lung thing but the fact that you're better. I guess I'll see ya"
"Bye"
Great Im on the news. Maybe I can just watch some tv and let the time pass.
Tasha's P.O.V
We all walked through the hospital trying to find the cafeteria. I still can't believe that happened to him, just out of the blue too. My phone began ringing. Ugh it's the witch of Mission Creek.
"Hello Principal Perry"
"Hello..Tanya"
"It's Tasha"
"Whatever. I need to have a parent teacher conference tonight with you and the Daven-freaks"
"Why?"
"Because, the big one has been hasseling the vending machine. The girl has been tracking paint all over my school. Dooley and little bo-peep caused the girl to have paint all over her. So in other words. I need to give you some options about punishments"
"Alright, well my youngest son is in the hospital right now"
"Well tell him to hurry up and quit being sick and get over here!"
"He had lung surgery"
"I don't care... JUST BE HERE AT 7:00!"
"Alright..."
I hung up on that w(b)itch. I know it's improper language and I hate cursing, but that woman needs to be taken down a peg or two.
"Ok guys when we get home take it easy with him" I said. Everyone nodded. I knew I wouldn't have to tell them but I just figured. We got to the cafeteria and picked out our food. Afterwards we went back to the room and found Davis watching Old and the Relaxed. Which was a soapopra.
"Enjoying your show?" I asked. He looked at me. "Shhh! Martin's about to propose to Margaret!" He said. We all laughed. Especially when Margaret was shot dead by Martin. Poor Davis was a little heart-broken.
He sat there and ate his chicken fingers that we got him. After a little bit te doctor came back in with a hippo shaped machine.
"What's with the machine?" Donald asked the nurse.
"Well while his lungs are developing, he could have something similar to an asthma attack. When he does just make him breath through this breathing treatment machine" She said. It was pretty cute.
"Why is it shaped like a hippo?" Leo asked. "It's our childrens model. You know, for kids" the nurse responded.
"And don't worry about paying for it. It's on the house for patients" She said. Great, we won't have to pay for that, but knowing Donald and how he likes to be prepared; he'll probably re-create it and place a bunch of copies around the house incase his lungs break down again.
"thank you" I said. She smiled and checked Davis's charts.
"Everything looks good. Let me get the doctor in here for a check up and you might be able to leave early" She said. Then she left the room.
Davis's P.O.V
YES! I might get to go early. I pulled out my phone and texted him asking if he wanted to come over and celebrate.
"Dad, can Dylan come over?" I asked.
"Your father and I have to go by the school for a parent teacher conference over a certain foursome of bionics and pranksters" Tasha said while glaring at Adam Bree Chase and Leo.
"Please!" I pleaded. Tasha and Dad looked as if they were thinking it over. "Im almost died today, I need my ONLY friend" I said trying to sound pitiful. They both caved.
"Fine, but your Uncle Douglas will come and watch you two. And if your lungs shut down again, Im going to put this in the cabinet in your bathroom" Dad said. I nodded. He texted back saying he'd be over around the time we would get home. Good, he's never been over before!
The nurse walked back in with the doctor.
"Alright Davis, we're gonna check your heart to see if it's beating evenly" He said. I nodded. He placed the stethoscope on my chest.
"Alright, from the way things sound, you should be ok to go" He said. FINALLY! I got out of the bed but not without a sharp pain running down south. Apparently my pain was noticeable.
"The cathader came out?" Bree asked. I nodded, holding back tears of pain.
"We're just gonna go" Dad said while helping me over to the door.
-Way Home- Adam's P.O.V
I can't believe Davenport and Tasha have to go to a conference about whatever we did. Im my defense that vending machine kept taking my dollar and saying 'insert number'. I inserted 5 numbers/dollars in there and it kept taking it! If anything that vending machine deserves detention!
Im also a little worried about Davis tonight. What if his lungs break down again and we're not there to help?
Once we got home, Davenport put his breathing machine up in his bathroom and came back. Soon enough there was a knock on the door. I went to go answer it and opened it.
"Hey Marcus, Douglas!" I said. They both walked in. "Hey guys, so when is the meeting?" Douglas asked.
"Now. Come on Donald we need to g-" Tasha was cut off by Dylan at the door.
"Hey Dylan" Davis said. He waved. "Hey guys!" He said. He walked inside. He was jsut this short-ish blonde haired boy. I think I've seen him at a football game.
"Hey Dylan. My brother, Douglas, is going to watch you and Davis while Tasha, Adam, Bree, Chase, Leo, and I go to the school for some reasons" Davenport said while glaring at us. This is going to be a long night.
"Ok bye Davis, be good, and you knwo where the machine is" Tasha said while kissing Davis's head. she whispered the last part since apparently Davis doesn't want Dylan, Douglas, or Marcus to worry. We all left the house.
Dylan's P.O.V
I just got to Davis's house, well it's more like a mansion. This place is sooo school! He's been acting a little weird since he got back, but then again he nearly died.
"We're gonna go play some video games in my room" Davis said. His uncle just nodded and his cousin got on his laptop. We got up to his room and turned on his kinect.
"What do you want to play?" He asked. "Track?" I suggested. He nodded and selected track and field.
"Ok you ready to go down?" He asked. I scoffed. "Please. My sister is captain of the Mission Creek track and field team" I bragged. We both hit start and began running in place.
As we kept running hurdles began to appear, not to mention we both were to the point of sweating our butts off. During our game I noticed he was breathing a little heavily. I didn't think anything of it, so we continued. Once we got to the finish it showed that I won.
"Woohoo! Eat it Davenport!" I said. I turned to look at him and he was bent over trying to breath.
"Davis you okay?" I asked. He shook his head.
"Get...Douglas..." He said inbetween breaths. I nodded except I didn't want to go downstairs.
"DOUGLAS! DAVIS CAN'T BREATHE!" I yelled. I immediately heard footsteps.
Douglas's P.O.V
Marcus and I were sitting on the couch. He was just playing games on his laptop.
"DOUGLAS! DAVIS CAN'T BREATHE!" I heard Dylan yell. I quickly ran upstairs with Marcus and found Davis bent over and gasping for air.
"Davis! Davis can you hear me!?" I asked. "He can hear you Dad, he just can't breathe" Marcus said. I looked at him.
"Machine...cabinet...bathroom" He said in between breathes. Dylan ran into Davis's bathroom and grabbed this machine thing.
"Ok how do these work?" He asked. I shrugged my shoulders and hooked it up. I gave the nozzle to Davis for him to use. He gratefully took it. The next thing I could hear was the humming of the machine. I decided to call Donnie to let him know that his son somehow has problems breathing.
Donald's P.O.V
"Im thinking about detention for a week!" Perry said. I rolled my eyes angrily. Of course she would say that. She hates them. My phone began ringing and I found out it was Douglas. Oh no.
"Excuse me" I said while getting up and walking over to the corner of the room.
"Hello?"
"Hey Donnie, what setting do I use on Davis's air breathing thing"
"Probably setting 4- Wait! Why would you use that?!"
"He had trouble breathing and I think he's calmed down"
"Oh no I can't believe I forgot to tell you! His lungs shut down earlier today and that machine is used for when they do it again"
Apparently I go teveryones attention.
"Davis's lungs collapsed again!?" Tasha asked extremely alarmed. I nodded.
"Yes but he still has his machine and it's working just fine" I said. Everyone calmed down.
"Ummm Donnie"
"Sorry, thank you, and Im so sorry about not telling you guys. We're on our way home"
"Ok see ya"
I hung up and turned to them.
"Look we have to go" I said. Principal Perry looked mad...like face red.
"Uh no! I want justice for my school!" She said while slamming her hands on her desk. Tasha was full on mad. She threw her coat on the chair.
"Ok you know what? You can take your "Justice" and stick it right up your-"
"Tasha please, we don't need to get graphic" I warned. I have never seen her this mad.
"Our son. Our YOUNGEST son is at home, he can't breathe, he could die and if you think we're staying here so we can do your sick twisted dance just so you can watch students suffer. Then you've got another thing coming!" She yelled. Perry just sat back in her seat. Tasha grabbed her coat and walked out of the room. Head held high. We were all shocked.
"The woman has spoken" Leo said. We all left the room and drove home.
"Wow Tasha. That was...something" I said. She smiled.
"Just remember this next time you forget to take out the trash..sweety" She said. She laughed a little after that along with the rest of us.
-Home-
Once we got home I ran inside to find Davis laying on the couch. His breathing looks normal. I walked over to the couch and found out he was asleep.
"He fell asleep a little after the inccident" Douglas said. I smiled.
"thank you" I said. He nodded.
"So how was the meeting?' He asked. We all looked at Tasha.
"Somebody took Perry down a peg" Leo said. "Finally!" Marcus said with complete relief. Douglas smiled respectfully towards Tasha.
Douglas and Marcus left. Apparently Dylan went home after the inccident. I walked over and picked Davis up.
"Mmm Dad?" He said. I looked down at him. We were halfway up the stairs.
"Yeah?" I said.
"It happened again"
"I know buddy, but you're okay now" He smiled and snuggled against my chest and went back to sleep. I walked past his room since it was a little hot in there. The radiating Xbox heated up the room by a lot when you do something like Kinect Sports. I took Davis into our room and sat him in between Tasha and I.
"Im guessing he's staying with us again?" Tasha asked while getting in the bed. "Yep, his room is way too hot. Plus..Im worried" I said, She nodded and layed back. I got in and layed back. Finally today was over. Atleast Principal Perry won't bother the kids anymore. Thanky you Tasha...
There's another chapter! I know Tasha seemed a little OOC but I just had to do it. Try to put yourself in her shoes in that part. Anyways please review! Bye!
