Chapter 3

-New training

Tigress got to the Palace late that night. No one noticed though. She was feeling nervous and excited to learn new things. ..but also guilty. She knew that training secretly under Fenghuang was not one of the right things to do, but she wanted to do it. Is not like she would lose control of herself just by training with someone who is supposed to be in jail.

"Tigress?" She looked up from the bowl of noddles she was currently stirring.

"Yes Po?" She answered.

"Are you ok, you are acting... more serious that usual" he stated, the rest of the five turned to see her response. Tigress just emitted a low growl and answered,

"Yes, I'm fine" and she began eating her noodles. Po decided to leave her alone and drop the subject, but he still kept a close eye on her during breakfast.

Tigress started thinking what would happen when she showed up, would it be like with Master Shifu, or would it be easier, harder? Would it be a trap? A set-up? Tigress widen her eyes,

'How dumb can you possibly be Tigress!" She yelled at herself. If this was a trap, she had basically set it up herself and accepted to be the prey...She formed a fist and hit the table lightly with it, still making it tremble. Everyone turned to look at her.

"Tigress, are you sure you are fine?" Viper asked her, worried ab out her friend's attitude.

"Yes, I'm fine" She answered a little bit more roughly than she would have liked. Everyone exchanged glances and continued eating. After finishing their breakfast, they all went to the Training Hall, where Shifu was waiting for them.

"Mantis and Crane will be sparring together, followed by Po and Tigress and Viper and Monkey" They all bowed to their master. Crane and mantis went to the training grounds since there was more space. Their fight lasted about 5 minutes, and it was won by Mantis, who did a sneak attack.

"Very well Mantis. Crane, you did well just try to be more alert" The insect and the avian nodded and headed to the kitchen for drinks. Po and Tigress started heading to where they were seconds before. They got into fighting positions. And with a thump caused by Shifu's staff, their fight began.

Tigress started to block the panda's attempts to hit her. When she saw an opening on his legs she went for it, but the panda expected this, so he dodged it, throwing the tiger off balance. Tigress landed on her stomach, and just as she was going to do a flip to stand up, she felt weight bring her down. Po sat on her.

"Po, get off, NOW!" She roared, trying to get the panda off her, but the attempts to do it were useless since the panda being heavy himself, was also not willing to give up his victory.

"Po, you can get off her, the victory is yours" Tigress stood up and brushed the dust off. She was upset. Po and Tigress bowed down to Shifu, waiting for criticism.

"Po, I'm proud of you, you did very well using your weight against your opponent" Tigress rolled her eyes.

"Tigress, I'm disappointed, I expected more of a fight. You were easily defeated, hopefully you will improve next time" And just like that, he walked away from them. Tigress breathed heavily. She had worked years to get that, but she never did, that panda did! She never got a 'I'm proud of you". She was always given criticism. At least once she would have liked to know that she wasn't a disappointment. She sighed and stomped off. She was determined to improve, she was going to train with Fenghuang. It couldn't be any worse than training with Shifu.

She was in her room meditating. When she noticed it was almost sunset, she took a small dagger with her and started heading out of the barracks.

"Hey Ti, dinner's ready" Po said, blocking her way out unintentionally.

"Ok" She went around him and continued walking.

"ok? Aren't you going to eat?" Po asked her.

"No, I'm not hungry Po" Tigress responded slightly irritated by the panda's curiosity. Po widen his eyes,

"This isn't because I beat you at training, right?" He asked.

"No Po, now if you don't mind, I want to...go outside" She said, not leaving room for the panda to argue with her. Po just stared at the feline who was walking out. She seemed tense. Po sighed, sooner or later he would find out why she was acting this way.

"Hey Po, where's Tigress?" Viper asked him as he sat down.

"She is not hungry" He muttered, beginning to slurp his noodles sadly. The rest started having a conversation, and cracking some jokes, trying to cheer Po up.

With Tigress...

she sighed, she didn't meant to be that cold with Po. She would apologize to him later. She continued walking to the forest, when she got to the spot where she met with Fenghuang yesterday, she stopped and looked around. One hand was ready to take out the dagger, while the other was ready to defend.

"Don't worry, I didn't came to hurt you" She heard a voice say. She looked up to the dark sky and saw the owl fly above her. The owl smiled and landed in front of her.

"Well, since you are here, let's begin shall we?" Fenghuang said. Tigress smiled and vowed to her. The owl smiled to herself, the tiger was eager to learn...she had observed her earlier on the day, she knew how Po was so worried about her, and how Shifu called her a 'disappointment', she was going to use that to her advantage.

Tigress was practicing some punches and stances.

"That's good, but not good enough. You are just fighting, but here, I will teach you to destroy, to use your power to your own advantage" Fenghuang ordered. Tigress stopped for a second.

"Wait, Shifu said-" She got cut off,

"Oh, of course, Shifu, the guy who is never content with your progress, even though I think you are the most effective of all of them... and to my opinion, that panda is just lucky"

Tigress nodded and did as instructed. She tried the knew technique on a tree, and the moment she did, she left a big crack on it. The feline and the owl smiled at the scene before them.

They continued working on those, and even through the night, Fenghuang taught her some of the impossible moves. It was almost midnight, when their training ended.

"Very well Tigress. I'm very proud of you" Tigress smiled "You've made a lot of progress, we'll continue tomorrow" Fenghuang said, then she spread out her wings and disappeared on the sky. Tigress bowed and started heading to the Palace. She liked it, she enjoyed it. She learned a lot of new stuff Shifu never taught them. Somehow, she felt as if this was a missing part of her life.

Once she got to the barracks, she started to tip-toed quietly and cautiously to her room, hoping not to wake up anyone. She stood in from of her door, she opened it and stepped inside. She let out a sigh of relief. She took the dagger out of her belt and set it down. She then went to her bed and immediately fell to sleep; that night, she didn't have any doubts, she wanted to continue training under Fenghuang, even if it was secretly.

YAY! I mean, NO! Well, I think is pretty good so far, what do you guys think? I will try to update soon, though I'm not so sure of that happening, but still. Anyway, leave your reviews(3?)! Thanks again, and glad you are enjoying it!

(Also, this will center more around Tigress, just to let you guys know)

-Peace out:)
