Hi guys. I am back with yet another chapter.. The main focus for this and possibly the next chapter will be Zartin's life. I hope you all enjoy it.
5 years have passed since the birth of Zartin. He has become quite the little man in that short amount of time. He has gray hair and dark brown eyes. He always wears a green jacket that was bought for him for his 4th birthday from his Aunt Lucy as she is referred to as. Many things have happened in the guild. Some has been amazing and happy. While others were sad and very emotional. To start off Master Makorov died. He had a heart attack about a year ago and no medicine was ale to help at the time. He lived a long life up to about 90 so it wasn't a very big surprise when it happened, but tears were shed everywhere. The funeral was long and no one wanted to believe it, but it happened. Since it came so suddenly he never had a chance to pick the next master. To settle this, the entire guild decided to have a tournament to decide the strongest member, and thus the master. Only those who wanted to compete did so no one was completely maimed. Gildarts sat out since he has already stated being master just wasn't his style so really only 5 people were part of the fights. These 5 included Natsu, Laxus, Erza, Gray, and Gajeel. Obviously Natsu, Gray and Gajeel ended up getting knocked out since they were no match for Erza or Laxus. The final battle was the two S class mages and it lasted hours. Both were close to collapsing and neither wanted to give in. Laxus mange to pull off one final attack though and Erza lost. Laxus was the new master of the guild and everyone was fine with it. On to a bit more happy news, Natsu and Lucy got married. It took a while but Natsu finally confessed his love for Lucy and they got married about a month after Laxus became master. Juvia managed to get Gray to date her but it ended up not working out. They are still friends so no worries there. Gajeel and Levy also got married. Pretty much the same situation as Natsu, but they also had a kid who at the moment was a little more than 2. They named her Cindra and she was just one of the cutest things ever.
One day, a dark guild came calling. They busted down the guild hall doors and started attacking everyone there. They were much stronger than other guilds they have faced in the past. Sensing how bad this could become, Raxon took immediate action to ensure Zartin's safety. He grabbed him and ran to the back off the hall where no fighting was happening at the time and placed him behind a few tables.
"Now listen to daddy Zartin. These people are bad so I don't want you to get near them. Stay back here and don't come out until I come and get you ok?"
"Yes daddy. I'll stay right here." To show he understood Zartin curled into a ball to avoid being seen even more. Raxon smiled.
"Good, I'll be back don't worry." Raxon ran back to join the fight and Zartin sat and watched the conflict from behind the tables. Something caught the corner of his eye and it filled him with wonder. It was Levy using her solid script magic. Zartin never saw a magic like that before and even for being so young he loved books. Seeing that someone could make letters appear from thin air and do all those amazing things filled him with happiness and delight. The battle raged on for a while before Laxus had enough of the harm coming to his guild family. He cast the Fairy Law spell and wiped out the enemy completely. With the guild hall safe and no one gravely injured Raxon and Laxus went to get Zartin from is hiding spot.
"You aren't hurt are ya buddy?" Laxus said picking him up.
"I'm great dad. Can I ask a question?"
"You just did but I'll let you ask another one." Laxus joked.
"Can I learn her magic?" Zartin asked pointing towards Levy.
"You want to learn solid script like Levy? I think that's a great idea. You are always in those books we got you and I bet Levy would be a great teacher." Raxon said getting excited that his child wanted to be a wizard to. "Levy could you come here for a minute?" She walked over after making sure Gajeel was ok.
"What do ya need Rax?"
"Zartin here says he wants to learn solid scrip magic. Is there any chance you would be willing to teach him?"
"Oh I would love to. This is going to be so much fun. Now remember Zartin this isn't an easy magic to learn. The training might be tough but seing how you are the son of Laxus I think you'll be just fine."
"Horay thank you Levy." Zartin said and started jumping for joy.
Days passed and Levy started teaching him the art of solid script. It was hard work memorizing what every word did and how precise you had to be when writing it. One wrong stroke and you end up spelling FIKE instead of FIRE. It took months of practice but Zartin was finally able to master 5 words. These included Fire, Water, Drill, Light, and Lightning which was the hardest due to the length of the word. Now that he had magic at his disposal, he wanted to help his parents somehow. So one night during dinner he asked them an important question.
"Is there any chance I can go on a job with you at some point? I've practiced really hard and I bet I could help."
"I think its a little to early for that Zartin. Maybe in a year or so you could..."
"But daddy I want to help you now." Zartin interrupted.
"Hey I see no problem with it. We take a nice easy mission and nothing bad could possibly happen." Laxus stated.
"Fine I'll see what they have up tomorrow. If I find an easy one then I'll let yo go on it ok?" Raxon responded
"Ok Daddy. Thank you" Zartin resumed eating and then went to bed.
The next day Raxon checked the request board and found a job that was actually quite perfect for Zartin's new skills. He went over and told Mira that he would like it and then he grabbed his son and they went to the site of the job. It was very easy, an old women just wanted her plants watered since she couldn't do it herself in her old age.
"Ok Zartin all you have to do is use water on those plants there. Give it a shot."
"Right. Ok here I go. Solid Script Water!" The word appeared and went over to the plants dosing them in a fine layer of water. This task was repeated with the next few boxes and then the job was complete. The lady paid them the 500 jewl for the job and then they made their way home.
"That was great work you did there son. I'm proud of you."
"Thank you dad. I can't wait to tell other dad how much I made." Just then a figure came out from a near by ally way and jumped in front of their path. He held a magic pistol up to Raxon's head.
"Ok man. Hand over all the money you got and no one gets hurt." Raxon stood in shock for a moment not quite sure what to do. He could probably beat this guy into ext week, but that may put Zartin in danger. Before he could make a decision Zartin did for him.
"No. This is my money that I earned I'm not giving it to you ya big meanie."
"Oh so we got a tough little squirt here. Ok you die first." He aimed the gun right at Zartin's head and Raxon reacted faster than he ever had before. He summoned a dark barrier then jumped right on the robber trying to steal the gun from his hand. The guy was a little stronger than Raxon thought and he managed to turn him around and put Raxon in an arm lock. He held the gun to Raxon's head and spoke to Zartin. "Ok kid ya got 1 minute to give me all the money you have right now. Hurry up or your daddy is gonna get a blast in the head."
"Run Zartin, don't worry about me just get out of here." Raxon pleaded.
"No Daddy I can help you." Zartin thought what word might be best here and only one came to mind.
"Times up kid." Before the burglar could pull the trigger Zartin fired one spell at him.
"Solid Script Lightning!" The word flew at the guy and light speed and sapped the gun right out of his hand. Raxon turned and kicked him in the stomach then shot a dark missile at him causing him to run in fear. Raxon turned to his child and spoke to him.
"That was very brave of you Zartin. I'm glad you were here to protect me."
"No problem daddy. Can we get some ice cream?" Raxon chuckled at his kids calmness.
"Sure, any kind you would like." The two enjoyed their treat and then went back home and told Laxus about what happened. He wasn't very thrilled that someone threatened his kid but since he was dealt with he didn't make a big fuss. Zartin went on a couple of jobs with Raxon and Laxus every now and then and after a few years became a full fledged member of the guild. He got his guild seal on his upper right arm and it was black just like his fathers'. More adventures were bound to come for Zartin and his family, but that is a story for another time.
So that is that. That is the story of Raxon and his son. I really didn't want to end it, but I have run out of ideas of where to go with this. I'll have a new story soon I hope. Till next time.
