This is something I really, really needed to write. And now, here it is, my first Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso fanfiction. I hope you enjoy it, and please leave feedback!
Tenebrific means 'producing darkness' and Effulgent means 'shining forth brilliantly; radiant'.
It is a demon's path he must walk.
It is, indeed. For there will always be sadness surrounding this pianist, a cloud of darkness. It is thick, it is heavy, and it is as much a part of him as his black hair and night-sky eyes. Once, it almost consumed him, this cloud of darkness. It was born from his own grief, you see, and once it was in the world, it didn't want to leave him. So it grew roots, and sunk them in as deeply as it could. It took over everything, turned his world grey, and changed everything.
He became a pianist who could not hear his own notes, and as such a thing is a paradox, so he left the stage. Instead, he chose to live in a daze, in a monochrome world, surrounded by the darkness he had created. And all the time, ghosts, also of his own making, persecuted him. He was no longer a pianist. Instead, he was the epitome of sorrow.
Until it all changed. The time came when he decided that enough was enough, and that the darkness had no right, no right at all to make his suffering worse. He decided it was time to take the stage again. So he took his dark cloud into his own hands and used that to play, instead. When he could not hear the notes, he would feel them instead. And he did so, brilliantly, shiningly so. The cloud became something he controlled, instead of the other way around.
Even so, he was still the epitome of sorrow. He was harnessing his own pain to create something beautiful, and then move on. And to continue that way, he must indeed walk a demon's path. A path of darkness. The type of path most people fear.
But somehow he shines. It shouldn't be possible, but he does. Through his sorrow, he shines. But how is that possible?
The answer is simple, really.
There is this girl, you see. He loves her, and has always been following her. She is a radiant girl, an angel on the violin. A starry girl. And he is a night-sky eyed boy. And where is it that stars shine the best? Why, it's the night sky, of course. The darkest of places. It's something that people forget-when it's dark, the stars come out. They forget, all too easily.
But he remembered. After he met the violin-playing angel, after he got back up on stage again, after he got a hold of his pain and turned it into something beautiful, he remembered. And now, he is not afraid of his own darkness.
Because that darkness, it shines, so much. It's so bright, like the best starry night sky. And he'll always love the stars.
