Rose POV

I wake up to my cousins, ALL of them.

"What's going on?" I muttered, still feeling a bit dazy.

"Rosie!" Screeched Lily.

"James she's up!" Yelled Albus.

"Well then, I guess we might as well play who can make Rose deaf first." I glared at all of them.

They looked down sheepishly. "Sorry Rosie." Lily whispered.

"So what happened? How did I get here?" I asked. "I have no idea what happened." That was a lie. I know exactly what happened. That absolute… PRAT Jonah tried… Well you know. I remember someone saving me, and call me crazy, but I have a feeling that it was Scorpius, yes Scorpius as in Albus's best friend aka the devil spawn.

Except that there was something else in his eyes last night. He wasn't all smirks for once, he looked genuinely concerned. About me?

About me…

But then I fell asleep, then woke up-and didn't he say something about him not wanting me to know he saved me? I tried to listen afterwards, but I had fallen asleep again.

My cousins' eyes hardened. "That Jonah tried to pressure you into-things." James voice was full of pure loathing. "You're lucky that Sc-" Lily elbowed him in the ribs.

"He means that you're lucky that he came to save you, and gave him a very nice black eye as well." Lily's mischievous grin turned almost malicious…

So they weren't going to tell me? The gears were turning in my mind-why did he not want me to know? I mean, I would expect that they would want to tell me so that Scorpius's and my rivalry would get a bit better.

Everyone thinks that I hate him. I honestly don't hate him. In fact… I'm jealous of him-he fits in to my family better than I do more than half the time, and it's very clear that Al found a new best friend in him.

So yes, I was jealous of him.

I don't understand why he would do this though. He could have left me there for Jonah to...But he didn't. It surprised me, especially because I wasn't very nice to him. Okay fine, I was a complete jerk to him… But its not my fault! It's like I have this Scorpius defense system. Whenever he's with me, I feel the need to be better than him. Sometimes it isn't because I need to be better than him, but because I want to… impress… No. Never mind. I'm not about to go all soft on him and melt like all those other mental girls at Hogwarts, but it doesn't help my opinion of him.

"Okay, up you go." Lily said condescendingly.

"And where exactly am I going?" I challenged, standing up so we stood eye to eye.

"Easy there, tiger." Said Al as he walked towards us. "Rosie you have to go to the hospital wing to go get that wrist checked out."

"There is no way in bloody hell that I'm going to the hospital wing."

"Language, young lady." Chuckled James.

"As if you don't swear also." I muttered, scowling.

James cleared his throat. "I have a simple solution to this." He scooped me up in his arms and threw me over his shoulder so I was hanging. I immediately began pounding on his back and screaming for him to put me down. I'm pretty sure I woke up the entire Gryffindor tower but ehh, there was no way I was going to the hospital wing. Don't get me wrong, Madam Pompfrey is a lovely lady, but the hospital was stuffy, sickly, and constantly smelled like cough syrup. We began to approach the hospital wing and I began screeching even louder.

"JAMES POTTER! YOU RELEASE ME AT ONCE YOU BIG BUFFOON!"

"No can do Rosie."

Louis pushed open the doors to the hospital wing and James dragged me in. Madam Pompfrey quickly arrived with a very confused look on her face. When she saw me she rolled her eyes, muttering. "Just like her parents, gets into as much trouble as she can."

James laid me down on one of the beds, with me still glaring at him, and smiled cheekily.

"Well, Madame Pompfrey, this little troublemaker got herself into a lot of trouble, could you fix her wrist?"

I looked down at my wrist and disgustedly noticed the blue-black tinge to it.

"Why did you not come earlier, dearie?" She asked.

"Consider it lucky that I came at all honestly." I replied.

"Well, let's see what I can do. You're going to have to stay the night, so have one of your friends get your schoolwork."

"No way! I can't miss school!"

"Come on Rosie. The little teacher's pet can take a sick day." Al chuckled.

"AL!" I yelled.

"Fine, fine," he said as he put his hands up in surrender. "I'll have Scorp get your schoolwork because he's in all your classes. Now before you say how horrible he is-"

"Okay." I interrupted.

"Really? Wow, that was a lot easier than expected." He sighed.

"I don't completely hate him, you know." I said matter-of-factly.

He rolled his eyes. "Sure seems like it."

"If you see him… Tell him I say thanks."

"For what?" He asked, shifting uncomfortably.

"For the schoolwork of course." I said, smirking slightly.

"Alright Rosie."

Al walked away and I closed my eyes, drifting off.

Scorpius POV

I was pacing back and forth in the Slytherin common room, anxiously awaiting news about Rose.

When Al walked into the common room, I nearly attacked him for an answer.

"Is she okay? Did you take her to the hospital wing?"

He took my shoulders and shook me slightly. "Calm down, mate. She's fine, at the hospital wing and said thank you."

"SHE WHAT? Which one of you bloody Weasleys couldn't keep your mouth shut?" I exploded.

He chuckled nervously. "Not about that Scor, she's thanking you for offering to get her schoolwork for her."

Oh. I calmed down slightly.

"Now let's talk about a more… pressing issue." He said smirking.

I felt heat rush into my cheeks, which was ridiculous-because Scorpius Malfoy doesn't blush. Pshaw. No.

"So. You love Rosie?"

I looked down, the carpet suddenly extremely intriguing. "Well… love might be exaggerating it. Why would you think I LOVE her? Love is… a pretty strong word."

"Yeah. And you said it about her. And you don't use love ever-not even with your family. You say that you 'tolerate' them."

I don't say anything, my eyes flitting back and forth from the carpet to the ceiling.

"Listen mate. I know how you treat girls, and I know that you wouldn't treat her like that because she's special. I know you think she's special. Now I just wish you the best of luck with the others."

"Others?"

"You know. When you get one Weasley or Potter, you face the whole clan."

I closed my eyes and internally smacked myself in the face. Of course I would love one of the most protected girls in Hogwarts.

Love?

UGH! I have to stop thinking like that.

I hate her.

Right?

RIGHT?

Right.

I think.

But I still have to check on her. You check on your enemies-if she's in trouble who else do I have to fight with? Right? And besides, I have to deliver her work to her.

That's it.

When I arrived at the Hospital Wing, her fiery hair immediately stands out and I nearly run to her.

When I'm at her side, I breathe a sigh of relief-she was okay, she was asleep and she was… beaut-nothing. NOTHING.

I absentmindedly go to tuck a lock of hair behind her ear but my hand freezes.

Did she?

No.

"Scor." She murmured again.

Did she see me? No her eyes were completely shut. So what…?

I shake out of my stupor and rummage around in my bag for her schoolwork.

When I get her stuff out, I leave it at her table. I get up to leave, and am halfway to the door when I hear a whisper.

"Scor?" She whispered groggily.

"Trouble?" I reply softly.

I walk slowly back to her and see her smiling up at me.

Smiling. At me?

"I'm glad you're here. I wanted to properly thank you."

"For what? The schoolwork? It's no problem, really." I say uncomfortably.

"No. You know what for."

I sighed, and distractedly ran a hand through my hair, messing it up.

"Who told you?"

She looks at me seriously. "I heard you. Last night."

I froze. Oh no. Oh no no no. "How much did you hear?"

"Not much. Only that and the part about you not wanting me to know. Why did you not want me to know?"

I shrugged awkwardly.

"I thought you'd you know… want to gloat about rescuing me."

"I would never do that."

"Then why did you not want me to know?"

"Because I didn't want you to think I did it just because I didn't like Jonah." I lied easily.

I felt my heart stop when her fragile hand slipped in mine.

"Thank you Scorpius."

There are so many things I can say. "So first name basis? Rose?" I exaggerated her name.

She laughed. "Sounds weird if you ask me."

"I'll stick with Trouble then." I swear I saw the tiniest bit of pink tinge rise up on her cheeks.

"Yeah, okay."
