Chapter 13: Early morning
Serah woke the next morning with Clare standing above her, waiting and smiling at her friend.
"What is it Clare?" Serah inquired.
"It's time to get up for our initiation, so get up, get up, get up" Clare laughed.
"Please stop" Serah groaned.
"Well get up then" Clare responded. Serah sat up and looked around at the other students who were still sleeping aside from Adam who was already dressed and doing weapon maintenance.
"You're joking right?" Serah said to her companion.
"The early bird gets the worm" Clare smiled.
"I'm not getting up at this ungodly hour" Serah responded.
"Clare, best to leave her sleeping so she isn't so angry" Adam interrupted. Serah glared at him and laid back down and continued to sleep while Adam and Clare continued their early morning routine of weapon maintenance and breakfast. They both talked to each other about what Ozpin meant when he talked to them yesterday and what challenges await in them in the initiation. They both left to explore the school more and when they returned the students started to wake and prepare themselves for the initiation, they walked up to the twins, Lance, Serah and Reginald and waited for them to get changed and prepared and then they made their way over to the cliffside of the forest where Professors Ozpin and Goodwitch were waiting for the students. Everyone got set onto each launch pad and prepared themselves while Ozpin spoke to them.
For years you have trained to become warriors. Today your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest.
After which, Professor Goodwitch continued.
I'm sure you have all the rumours about being placed into teams, allow us to end your confusion. You will each be given teammates. Today.
And Professor Ozpin continued the explanation.
These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon, so it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well with. That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years. After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest, you will meet opposition along the way, do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path or you will die. You will be monitored and graded for the duration of the initiation but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff, you will guard that item as well as your standing and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?
