Chapter 16: Initiation Part III
Ace watched as the other students were launched one by one waiting for his turn to be launched into the forest, he saw Joker get launched into the air and start flailing his arms as he flew through the air and he just sighed at the sight of his brother being so childish. He prepared himself as he was launched through the air towards the forest, he was flying through the air as he started to fall to the ground he saw that he was going towards a branch and he stretched his arms out and caught onto the tree. He raised himself up onto the branch and used his bladed gauntlets to slide down the tree and use his height to quickly scour the area around him for any signs of Grimm or another hunter. When he reached the ground he noted the temple in the distance and started running towards it, along the way he heard howling and roaring in the forest coming from every direction. He stopped when he heard the rustling of the bushes off to his left, Ace turned to face the bush and readied his weapons to face the threat. A large Beowolf emerged from the bush and jumped on top of him, he held it back with his legs so he could get a chance to recover. He kicked it in the face and stabbed it with his gauntlets in the throat and skull to quickly kill it, he withdrew his weapons and sheathed his weapons and continued walking through the forest until he came upon a small group of dead Beowolves. He walked closer to them and upon closer inspection he noticed the gashes in their bodies and the unclean hack marks on them.
"Seems like him" Ace smirked to himself.
"I know, and I love it" a voice called out to him. Ace turned to see his brother sitting in a tree with his axes embedded in a tree.
"Why the sudden narcissism brother?" Ace commented.
"Do you really need to ask" Joker chuckled.
"Well I guess we're partners" Ace replied.
"Then let's go" Joker called. He jumped off the branch with both weapons in his hands and started marching towards the temple with his brother following behind him, they continued their way through until they came across an Ursa sleeping in the middle of the forest. Joker stopped and Ace followed suit, they looked to each other and came to a non-verbal agreement that it would be pointless to fight the creature and waste time when they could just get straight to the temple, they continued their way through the forest cautiously and quickly until they came to a large opening where the temple was placed. They ran their way up to the temple and they noticed there were only two relics left, they figured there was one pair left so they grabbed one and started walking off when they heard someone calling out to them, they turned to see a blonde girl running towards them.
Emerald landed in the forest and started sprinting towards the temple, she continued at a steady pace through the forest when she suddenly stopped at the sight of the forest around her.
"Where am I?" Emerald asked herself.
"This whole place looks the exact same, how can anyone find their way through?" she continued to question. She looked around when she saw some sunlight piercing through the branches in the forest, Emerald followed the light until she entered a large clearing with bushes covering edges of the clearing, and she quickly looked around the clearing knowing that someone or something was hiding from her vision.
"Hello is anyone there?" Emerald called out naively. She heard no response so she started walking to the other side of the clearing mentally preparing herself to fight. She leaped into the air away from the King Taijutu that had just struck at her, Emerald faced the black side of the beast while waiting for the white side to strike. She had drawn her weapons when the other half quickly slid around her trying to crush her, Emerald stabbed at its eye causing it recoil and move away from her. Both sides hissed at her as she pointed her swords at it, the creature struck with its injured head, Emerald side stepped and stabbed it in the face causing it to go slightly limp. The black side grabbed her and threw her into the air and swallowed her whole, the beast laid down contently that it had emerged victorious in its battle. The King Taijutu raised both its heads and started shaking it from side to side until it went limp fell to the ground, two swords stabbed through the skin of the beast and started cutting it open when Emerald fell out of it to the ground. She coughed and spat as she tried to get the blood and guts off of herself.
"Ewwww, gross" Emerald moaned.
"This is disgusting" she continued to complain. She managed to eventually clean herself off and continued her way through the forest until she came to the edge of another clearing where she noticed the temple was standing, Emerald smiled at her luck and started running towards the temple. When she got closer she noticed two people standing there.
"Hey you two, wait up" Emerald called out to them. They turned to face her and both smiled, Emerald backed up when she noticed that they had their weapons drawn; they realised what she was doing and put their weapons away.
"Sorry about our weapons" the man with sandy hair apologised.
"And I apologise about my brother here" the other with black hair said
"So you two are brothers?" Emerald asked.
"You know it, I'm Ace and this is my twin brother Joker" Ace introduced.
"I'm Emerald" She responded.
"A pleasure to meet you" Joker chimed in.
"Where's your partner?" Ace asked with a concerned look on his face.
"I don't have one" Emerald said back. She looked at the ground with a sad look on her face.
"Hey, its fine we'll just talk with Professor Ozpin about this when we get back" Ace said sympathetically.
"Thanks" Emerald smiled.
"So grab your relic and let's go before more Grimm show up" Joker interrupted. Emerald grabbed her relic and the three of them started to walk to the cliffs, they stopped when they saw the corpse of a large Deathstalker laying dead on the ground. They all looked at each other and started laughing at their blunder.
"So how did we miss that thing on the ground?" Emerald asked.
"I guess we weren't paying attention" Ace responded.
"I don't think it really matters, let's just get to the cliffs" Joker pointed out. They all agreed and started making their way to the cliff, they all arrived safely without any distractions or interruptions to find Professors Ozpin and Goodwitch waiting for them.
"Well congratulations on arriving back safely but you got here last" Goodwitch announced.
"I don't really care but I don't have a partner" Emerald responded.
"Yes you do, but unfortunately he wasn't here for the initiation but he will be there for the team ceremony" Ozpin responded.
"You should make your way to the grand hall and await for your assignment to your teammates" Goodwitch said to them.
"Right away Professor" Joker responded. The three of them made their way over to the grand hall where they saw all the other students waiting for them and the other members of faculty.
