Chapter 2
The cold air crashed against her scales, trying to penetrate and eliminate any warmth she had left. It made sense since her ceil was made completely out of ice, along with the chains that held her down to the ground, causing most of her limbs to go halfway numb. The room which she assumed was some sort of dungeon was dimly lit, forcing her to squint her eyes until they adjusted to the poor lighting.
"Why me?" she sighed
"Because, we find intruders like you, unwanted here..." came a smooth inky voice
Ying turned to see the same snake from yesterday come walking down the ice like stairs, with a mighty air to him and long elegant strides to go with, coming towards her.
She quickly tried to get up and away, but could not for the chains that held her down, and so began to bite at them.
He just snickered at her, almost feeling sorry for the poor thing...well almost "It'ssss uselessss you know" he added, coming nearer
She only growled in response, and he gave a vicious laugh at it, while slowly opening her ceil.
"You can't keep me here" she whispered hoarsely
When they were finally face to face, he viciously grabbed her around the neck and brought her up to his height, causing her to dangle three feet from the ground.
Eyes fierce and narrowed, began to flick his tongue in and out, making her uncomfortable "You know it'sss very odd that we found you on our territory, we mosssstly find ice dragonsss, but you...my dear are a rare ssssight" he hissed with frightening warmth to it
In that moment she spat a plume of fire right in his left eye, he instantly released her from his grip, recoiled and gave out a short scream of both surprise and anger.
With great haste crawled back into the corner, far from the enraged serpent with the thrashing tail.
Still gripping his left eye said "You little rat! You'll pay for thisss" he hissed, and without warning came at her with his needle like talons extended
She didn't have enough time or strength to move out of the way, and so took the blow. His talons sank deep into her scales causing a screaming pain on her arms to erupt, and his weight was no better either, if made it harder for her to breathe.
While she struggled underneath his weight, he continued to scratch and claw at her. When seeing that blood had covered his talons, and the intruder was covered in bloody scratches and deep claw marks, stopped. He slowly got up and walked away from the dragon who was taking in large gulps of air, and locked the ceil.
"I won't hold back next time" he growled, quickly making his way out of the dungeon
She watched as he left, feeling grateful that he had but guilty at the same time. Guilty that she had burned and probably blinded his left eye, though now was not the time to feel guilt but to heal, and so began to curl up into fatal position, slowly falling into a land of dream.
A young midnight black dragoness with a snowy white mane, and matching white paws sat on top of a large red pillow, facing a very beautiful silver mirror, admiring her own reflection.
"Oh look at that glorious mane" she purred, voice soft yet a bit scratchy
Suddenly the door to her chamber flew open, and appeared two silver dragons, both wearing silver chainmail all over their scaled bodies.
She instantly swirled around, fangs bared "How dare you disturb me?!" she snarled
Both of the guards cringed at her harsh tone, but soon regained their composure.
"But milady, it's about your sister, Ying fourthstar" the left started
She gave a bored groan, and trned back to her mirror "What about her?" she asked, her voice as cold as ice
The right gulped "Well...it's just that...she hasn't arrived yet and word has it that she may have been captured"
She just rolled her eyes "And so? What am I suppose to do about it?"
Both starred at her surprised "Well we thought you might want to know" the left quickly added
Slightly she turned her head, and gave a false smile "Well you did your job, now leave me"
Both nodded "As you wish milady" and both soon left, leaving her alone to her thoughts
As soon as they left the dragoness turned all her attention to her silver mirror.
"Mirror, mirror on the wall, tell me where my pathetic sister lies" she chanted
Her blood boiled at the thought of her younger sister, creating vast images of the many ways she could kill her slowly and very painfully, but said thoughts were soon interrupted when an image formed from within the mirror. In it showed the tiny figure of a pale rose colored dragoness, covered in scratch marks and deep claw wounds, shivering herself to sleep in her ceil of ice. This she took great pleasure in.
"Oh dear sister, how it pains me to see you like this..." she teased "...oh well, nothing we can do now" she chuckled menacingly, before leaving the mirror
As soon as it sensed it's master gone the image vanished, replacing it with that of a blue egg, on a nest of hay.
