Doflamingo chuckled and watched Avara while she rubbed her now free wrists. He was planning on keeping the cuffs on longer, mainly because he was aware of how much it infuriated her but he'd noticed the lack of energy coming from her after the fourth day, and he couldn't have that. She wasn't any fun to be around when she was submissive and tired.
"About damn time" She muttered as she looked back at him, with that pissed off look returning.
"Fufufu~ That look really doesn't suit you" Doflamingo said, "You need to smile more"
"I'll look however pissed off I want to look" Avara said as she sat back on his bed, "Especially after you kept those damn things on me for four days"
"That shouldn't be too bad for somebody like you" He retorted
"They drain my energy, and they're heavy. Maybe you can stand them with your inhuman stature but I'm normal" Avara said
"Normal?"
"Closer to normal than you" She muttered as she glared over at him, "Anyways, I've got a few questions about this place"
Doflamingo chuckled, he knew she had questions about Dressers and the current situation it was in.
"Why should I answer your questions?" He asked, "You've been throwing a tantrum since you arrived"
"I have-"
"Fufufu~ I'll answer them, no need to get upset again" Doflamingo said, "After all, that pissed off look just left your face"
Avara huffed and sat back on the bed. Honestly even though she found Doflamingo's personality oddly enthralling she'd also forgotten how exasperating he was.
"Well, ask away" He said after a few seconds of silence had slipped by
"The dungeon with all those gladiators" Avara stated, "It seems unlike you to keep them around"
"Well I can't just outright kill them, even if the citizens want them dead it'd raise suspicion on my merciful character" Doflamingo explained
Avara scoffed. He really did have these people eating out of his hands if they thought he was a merciful man. She could easily recall the pirate ships he'd have her attack and finish off when they were sailing together for all those months. Not to forget the islands he'd practically destroyed after she'd left.
"How'd you take over? The people wouldn't just give up their king"
The grin stretched across Doflamingo's face as he recalled the fond memory, "What a great question"
Avara sat in silence letting the story of Dressrosa and Doflamingo's past sink in. She wasn't entirely too sure what to say now. She felt bad for the people of Dressrosa and how ignorant they were to this whole situation but at the same time she also felt bad for Doflamingo.
"Are you surprised?" Doflamingo questioned as he made his way over to her, "You didn't just think that I happened to rise to all of this power did you?"
"I didn't think you were a dragon"
"I'm not a dragon anymore, I'm much better than one", He said as he grabbed her chin and looked down at her, "And I'm much more powerful than any of them"
