Chapter 5

"Karen," She took a deep breath. "you are indeed pregnant."

Matt's face lit up. He squeezed my hand, I squeezed back and it became a squeezing war. The huge grin on our faces, that mirrored each others, confused Doctor Cartman.

"So, are you two together?" She asked.

"No" we replied in unison, before bursting out laughing.

"Karen, you will need to go up to the hospital for further check-ups, but from what I hear you have a healthy little baby inside of you."

I heaved a sigh of relief. I rolled my top back down with my spare hand. Matt helped me off of the bed, still wearing that grin of his. Doctor Cartman was busy on her computer, obviously printing off my appointment sheet.

We said our goodbyes to Doctor Cartman and the receptionist and left for Matt's car, seen as I don't drive he had to. Matt and I reached the car and he was unlocking the car when we saw Daisy 'round the corner.

"Karen get in the car." Matt said in a serious tone. I did what I was told and sat in the car just as Daisy reached Matt. I undid the window a little, not much so they realised that I could hear them.

"Matt, what are you doing with her?" I herd Daisy ask.

"She has a name y'know! And that has nothing to do with you." Matt snapped.

"Oooh, what's got you all snappy today?" Daisy replied with a smirk.

I thought he was going to tell her that I was pregnant. Please don't.

"None of your business." came Matt's reply. Thank god he didn't tell her.

"Now if you don't mind we were just leaving."

"Okay, later." Daisy replied, storming off. Matt got into the drivers side and started up the engine. He must have saw my expression because he asked;

"Karen, are you alright?"

"Yeah, fine why?"

"Don't worry about Daisy I didn't tell her anything."

"Good, I don't want to tell anyone until it's certain." I replied.

We said no other words until we arrived at the block of flats that we both live in.

"I would invite you in but, I need to do something,"

"I will be up later on…"

"Okay, see you later then." I replied and started my long journey up to the top of the building to my flat. I ignored the lift and walked up the flights of stairs. I reached my flat door and unlocked it and walked strait towards my bed. I need to think about what I am going to do. I can't say anything until after my appointment tomorrow. What did Matt mean about needing to do something? No idea. I guess I will wait and see…
