The next day Sakura was able to feel the bruises from last night's fight. Though the fight was broken up half way through she didn't have as many bruises. The rosette looked over at the clock and gasped when she saw that it said 3:00 PM. She rushed to grab her phone and saw that she had one new voice message.

"Hey Saku, I know that you are sleeping and I am just calling to tell you that you don't have to come with me to pick up Britlynn. I'll get her."

There was a long pause before Neko said anything more.

"I am so sorry Saku"

"End of message, to delete this message press 7..."

Sakura was left confused at her apology. Why was she sorry? Questions just floated through Sakura's head for the rest of the evening.

Earlier that day: 6 hours before. Neko's POV

I heard my alarm go off at 9 O'clock and I just rolled over and groaned. Today was a day that I didn't want to get up. Yesterday tired me out but I had work today. I was saddened that I only got one day off but that was life of a detective. I work on the homicide unit as I was better figuring out these things than on other unit. I also work in a private company as they pay more and I won't be on TV making myself more of a possible target (although after yesterday that may change.) it was also another way to protect Sakura.

Today started out like any other day. Went to the coffee shop and got my usual of a normal coffee and one for Yukiko and my boss then went to the office. I should have known that something was wrong when a very fancy new car was parked outside of the building and a police officer stationed outside beside the door.

I crossed the street to where my office was and walked up the steps to the entrance only to be blocked by the officer.

"Sorry only authorized personal only Ms."

I reached into my purse, looking for my ID badge. Once I finally found it, I took it out and showed him my badge.

"Oh I am sorry Ms. Melnychyn, I didn't notice that you worked here" he stated.

I only nodded my head curtly and walked passed him and into the building, receptionist sat at her desk and smiled at me kindly.

"Good morning Yukiko-san, how are you today?" I asked politely.

"I am good and yourself Neko-san?"

"I am good, anything I should know for right now?" I asked her

"Yes, Mr. Hanamura would like to see you in his office when you came in."

"Alright thank you"

I made my way up stairs and to my office first to drop off my purse, and took the two coffees to his office one floor up.

I got to the door rather quickly and shifted the coffees around so I could knock on the door. Instead of hearing a come in I was greeted with the door opening for me and I walked in. I didn't notice the other people at first but I walked to Hanamura's desk and handed him the coffee in return I got a very happy smile.

"Ah Neko-san! You didn't have to do this!" he exclaimed.

I liked Hanamura a lot, he was a very good boss and nice on the eyes.

"I have someone for you to meet, you will working with his team from time to time as you are the very best we have to offer." He told me, getting down to business.

I looked over and I would not believe my eyes. We stared at each other for sometime before introducing ourselves.

"Hello Ms. Melnychyn, my name is Itachi Uchiha how nice to meet you" he greeted.

"Ah likewise, I am Neko Melnychyn." I greeted back

"Now you two are greeted, we have an important case to deal with. Yesterday morning we found a body by the old warehouse where your team busted an underground fight and drug deal. The person found deceased was tied to class A criminal Kenchi, A note was found at the scene"

Hanamura's handed use the note, Itachi read the note first then myself.

"I will kill innocent people related to Kenchi and their families to get him out, if you don't want any more deaths, release him"

I froze in my spot. They were going to go after Sakura and this was somewhat my fault. I did point them to Kenchi's direction to save her but now…I may be her death.

I snapped back and we talked some more and bore I knew it I had to go pick up Britlynn at the airport.

"Ah, sir may I leave? I have to go pick up my sister from the airport" I asked

"Go ahead I think we are done here! Tell Britlynn-chan to come see me later! I missed her!" he said with a huge grin on his face.

As I turned around and was walking towards the door I walked past Itachi. As I did he whispered something to me.

"How is she?...is she still….hurt?"

"It's none of your business" I whispered harshly back.

As I walked out the door I noticed that Sakura's old friends were outside. I was a few years older than Sakura but I still knew them, I gave him the harshest glare I could muster and roughly walked past them, my height towering some the girls but still shorter then some of the guys.

"How's that pink slut? Still going around?" I heard someone laugh.

I quickly turned around and got in the face of none other than Karin Uzumaki.

"I mind you to keep your mouth shut. I have power of you and you would be wise to not say a word or someone important, higher than Uchiha-san to make sure that you have no career. EVER. That goes to all of you. Now sit like good dogs and wait" I said darkly.

"Who gives you the-"

"YAMNAKA! Shut up and sit! And respect your higher ups!" Hanamura's booming voice yelled out to where I flinched a little.

It was nice to have your sister date your boss sometimes. You get away with a lot of things. I walked away with a smirk on my face and walked back to my face to get my purse. I threw out my coffee cup half way there.

I got into my care that was parked across the street and went into the direction of the airport. I picked up my phone and speed dialed Sakura.

When it went to answering machine I knew I had to leave a message and before I could say anything the words flew out of my mouth.

"Hey Saku, I know that you are sleeping and I am just calling to tell you that you don't have to come with me to pick up Britlynn. I'll get her."

I paused. Tears started to well up into the corners of my eyes and I knew my voice was going to crack.

"I am so sorry Saku" I sobbed out and hung up.

Life was just about to get so much worse now.

So...I honestly did NOT expect myself to finish this in one sitting. I started today and ended today. It just flowed.

Also I got the name Hanamura and Yukiko from Persona 4 Golden. I love that game so I don't own them either?

I might actually do chapter 6 today too. That would be amazing.

So this was a Neko based chapter. There will a few more as the title of the chapter is: The one that holds regret. which means there will be a chapter on the past for her. I plan to make her important to this.

So is Sakura going to be a target or Will Neko be the target? both play equal parts!
