CHAP 6

Weeks pass and Netra's forces continue to find no sign of John. Tension begins to rise as fights break out about whose fault it is that nothing has turned up. Fearing the worst Netra put out the call to end the kill parties, saying that more areas need to be built to accommodate for new adoptions.

More days pass with talk beginning to go around for Netra seeming to forget about Monar's disobedience. But Netra had not forgotten, in fact, Monar was due a meeting with her later that day.

*You seem to have forgotten the rules that follow per your adoption,* Netra spoke looking down on Monar. *Let me go through them again. Number one, all adoptees must come to terms that I am your new queen. Number two, all adoptees must forget their past including friends, queen, habits, routines and attitude. And number three, this will be your new and last home you will ever have. Now I seem to remember that in your past you found joy in making many of the males that fell for you fight and kill each other over you, which led to your banishment. It appears that you broke rule two and made it so that 'John' was banished. Although I must thank you for showing me 'John's' true feelings towards me, you still broke a rule, and for that you will be executed tomorrow at dawn by drowning. You are relieved of all your duties for today and will spend the rest of it guarded in your room till dawn. You may leave now.*

This destroyed Monar's plan. Her perfect little plan to get rid of that human infected freak. How could have gone so wrong. The faces of her ex-brothers and sisters as the news spread showed her how. She had broken one of the three sacred rules. She asked herself again and again why drowning. She had seen few executions here each one different according to the crime. The worst she had seen was Larx's, a praetorian who had killed five for not working hard enough. He was buried alive, with a small hole to breath, to starve to death. At least they would bury her respectively; Larx's corpse was desecrated after which he was hung under tree by his feet, where he lies to this day.

Monar could not sleep knowing what awaited her in the morning. She began to ponder: Was it right what I did, was it the right choice. Maybe I should have left them but … would then another have done it. What would have happened if nothing had been done? No, I must live with the choice I made; it was the right thing to do. I could not have let that infected freak stay; he would have corrupted us all. He was probably going to sell us to the other humans. Yes, what I did was right. But if only Netra had seen that as well.

The day of the execution was an affair that none would miss, even the young would see it. Monar was led down the passage made by the crowd that had gathered towards the lake edge. Stood and listened as her crime was preached to the gather mass. After which Netra turned to Monar, *Do you have any last words?* Monar stared towards the crowd, *Yes, I do not regret my actions and I hope you all will realize why I did such things!*

Netra held Monar by the arms before she was pushed under. But Manor did not see that, she saw the one person she truly cared about, then let the water enter her lungs.
