Chapter 9
I muster my inner strength and thoughts race through of my mind from when I was scared as a child. But I should have known better than to lose focus. My feet slide on the dew of the grass as I halt to a stop to see a male demon in a commonly worn top and black pansy glare down at me.
"Excuse me, but I have a little girl to protect." I raise my fist and throw a punch, the demon blocks it in a second. I drop to the ground and sweep a leg, only to be countered with a slight jump from the demon. I look up and see his eyes glint while his tongue crawls out of his mouth and slithers as it licks his lips. His green slit eyes creep to Rin's location.
Mouthing my thoughts I jump up and reach out my right arm "OH HELL NO!"
Sesshoumaru doesn't need to know what the yell was about, his free hand instinctively draws out his other sword and he simultaneously has his energy whip wrap around his opponents body, he flings the hilt of his sword to his partner's outstretched hand. He then turns his full attention back to the enemy as he zooms in on the demon and raises his right hand with his green poison steaming and slipping off his claws. In one swipe he slits its throat, the demon vanishes. Unnerved Sesshoumaru swings his Toukijin into a full moon as the real body of the demon is cut into thirds.
I clasp my hands on the hilt and brings it to my chest. I do a fast prayer and the blade glows silver instead of Sesshoumaru's golden power. I raise the blade like an axe and slice the air, a boomerang shape emerges and the demon draws his lance and slices the blade of air in half. Oh great, I think to myself as I land on the ground. I toss the blade into the air and do a quick enchantment. The blade takes life and starts to spin, I opens my eyes and clasp my hands together. The boomerangs now wrap the demon and I change the position of my clasped from my right hand being on bottom to the top, and the blades of air engulf the demon and the blade whirls behind me and catches the demons throat, Sesshoumaru stands directly behind him.
I dig my right heel in the ground and spin around to face this demon and I grab the swords hilt, "Tell her majesty that I hope she was entertained. And that I'll see her very soon."
The demon's eyes widened as Sesshoumaru replaces my hands on the hilt. As I walk away I hear Sesshoumaru say to the demon in a venomous tone, "Don't you ever look at Rin with those eyes again, if you do, I promise you that my Mother will never hear from you again." He pressed the blade until a slither of blood trailed down its neck.
"Yyyyes Lord Sesshoumaru." The demon stutters and slides out from under Sesshoumaru's hold. The demon takes a bow and like ripples in a lake his body disappears.
I hug Rin tightly, "Oh my cute Rin! Were you scared?" I let go and look at her round face.
Shaking her head she smiles, "Not when you and Sesshoumaru-same are around." She then shifts her gaze from me to Jaken, "But I think Lord Jaken was scared, because he was shaken really bad." I look to the toad and shake my head.
"Jaken!" He snaps to and sees all of us staring at him.
"I'm ok!" He puffs out his chest then turns to Ring, "Don't lie to this woman and to Lord Sesshoumaru."
Rin laughs and I join her, but I look to Sesshoumaru. His eyes soften as he watches us, then I notice his golden eyes goes to the clouds above us, a howl is heard then a cold chill slices right through me.
I gasp as my eyes widened and the world fades to black.
