Chapter 4: The explosion

As all the agents got down stairs they could see smoke gathered in Abby's lab. They all race in trying to find Abby after breaking down the glass door keeping them out and the chemicals in.

"ABBY!" Screams Gibbs trying to find Abby in all the smoke

"Cough, Cough"

"Abby, is that you?"

"Gibbs?" asks Abby close to a whisper "You can't be in here you have to leave now!"

"We are not going anywhere without you Abby"

"Gibbs you have to, the lab is going to blow"

"Well then, what are you waiting for let's get out of here."

As Gibbs grabs Abby and start to run out all the agents quickly start running just in front trying to get out of the building before something bad happens. Without even speaking to Gibbs they all realise that something is terribly wrong. Just as they get to the exit of the building they hear a crash.

"Everybody you have to get out now! The building is about to crash!" Yells Gibbs as he pushes everyone out of the building.

Just as everybody leaves the building the entire thing comes crashing down. Luckily everyone was out before it happened.

"Help, someone get over here! She's unconscious!" Yells Gibbs to the paramedics just standing around

"Gibbs, you go to the hospital with Kate and Abby, we will stay here and find out what happened" Said Hotch to Gibbs as he walks over to the bomb squad

"Okay just be careful" That's all Gibbs had time to reply with before him and Kate left to follow the ambulance to the hospital.

At the Hospital: Gibbs POV

I can't stop thinking about Abby, she's like a daughter to me, if something bad happened I swear to god I will find the son of a bitch that has done this to my Abby. She deserves better than this. How could this have happened? Everything is checked when we come into the building, unless the person that is responsible for this hid the device or chemical inside some of the evidence where no one would think to look except for Abbs.

As I look up I see Abby's doctor walking towards me, he doesn't look happy he looks tired and exhausted.

"Agents Gibbs?" Asks the doctor with an extended hand

"Yes, that me" I say shaking his hand "How is she? Please tell me she is okay!"

"She is stable but the next 48 hours are going to be critical, we are going to keep her here for the next 7 days to keep an eye on her and hope that everything improves"

"Thanks-you Doctor, can I see her?"

"Yes you can but not for long she needs her rest" Replies the doctor as he shows Gibbs to Abby's room.

As I walk into Abby's room I see all these tubes and monitors, the doctor said that they have put her into an induced coma so that her body can get the rest it needs to heal, but she should still be able to hear me if I talk to her and she might wake up herself if she feels the need to.

I go and sit down in the chair which is beside her bed and I hold her hand, I've never seen her so down and out of it, she's always been the one to hold the team together with her cheerfulness and her hugs. Oh how I miss her hugs, I could really use one of those

"Abby if you can hear me, please come back to me, you mean everything to me I can't lose you, you're my family."
