Chapter 5: The coma
Abby's POV
"Where am I? Gibbs!? Is anyone there?"
"Hello Abby" Responded a voice in the distant
"Who are you?" I ask questioningly
"Im Shannon and this is Kelly" said the voice moving closer "Gibbs may have told you about us but he's not really one for sharing"
"Yes I know who you are, Gibbs has told me a little bit about you but he doesn't like to talk about it. Wait….if I can hear and see you, does that mean I'm dead?"
"No Abby, you're not dead you're in a coma stuck between life and death. Kelly and I are here to help you make a decision" Replies Kelly
"And what would is this said decision?" I ask
"You need to decide if you are going to move on with us or if you are going to go back to Gibbs and the rest of the team."
I just stand there taken by surprise, "You mean I have to choose if I die or if I live?"
"Yes Abby, that is exactly what I am saying."
"Abby, daddy needs you, as much as we want you to come with us you need to live, daddy can't lose anyone else he's close to" Says Kelly with a slight smile
What am I going to do? I love Gibbs he's like a father to me and Tony, Kate and McGee are like siblings, we are one big happy family. But I want to know more about Shannon and Kelly, Gibbs never talks about them but when he does they sounded like the most amazing people ever. After meeting them I've realised that they are.
"Okay Kelly, your dad does need someone to be his family but what if I am meant to die? What if I'm not meant to be your dad's family?"
"Abby, you can't think like that, everything happens for a reason, Mummy and I were meant to die so that you and the team could become Gibbs family, you all need to look after him. He needs someone to talk to on occasions but you have to get him to open up first."
I start to feel a pull, something was pull me back to my body but I don't know what it is.
"What's going on?" I asked scared about what is happening
"Because you haven't chosen Heaven has chosen for you, you are to stay with Gibbs and live until you are meant to die." Responds Shannon from the corner where she had just been listening to her daughter
"Ohh, well in that case I hope to see you again someday and I promise I will look after Gibbs"
"Bye Abby" both girls say just as I reach my body again
Gibbs POV
As I'm holding onto Abby's hand I can feel her squeeze it lightly it wasn't very tight I only just realised she was doing it. The only thought running through my head was that she's going to be okay, she's a fighter.
"Abby I know you can hear me, please come back I need you I can't lose you"
"Gasp, Gibbs?"
"Yeah Abbs I'm here, I'm going to get your doctor he needs to know your awake, I won't be long
As I go to leave her room to find her doctor he walks in and looks very surprised to see Abby awake.
"Hello Abby, I'm your doctor, it's a surprise to see you awake but let me take out the tubes before you try to talk."
I watch as the doctor walk over the Abby and removes the tube that is down her throat.
"Hey Abby, how are you feeling?" I ask her
"Hey Gibbs, I'm sore but I'll live, something happened though when I was out and I don't know exactly what, it's like im not supposed to remember" Replied Abby with a frown
"Abby, that isn't uncommon for people who have been in a coma, some people end up remembering while others don't" Said the doctor with a slight smile
"Thanks Doc" Smiled Abby
"Let me know if there is anything I can get you" Responded the doctor as he walked out leaving Abby and I alone
"Abbs you look exhausted you need to rest I'm not going to leave I'll be right here when you wake up" I tell her with a smile
"Thanks Gibbs" Replied Abby and she slowly starts to dose off into another dream about Shannon and Kelly
