The first years were shagging balls when they stopped to watch Echizen practice with Eiji. Their play intensified as the guys got serious. The first years noticed both boys were smiling.
"Ryoma-kun is enjoying himself." Said Katsuo.
"Kikumaru-senpai is a funny guy and makes the practice games fun." Said Kachiro.
"I wonder why he wears that bandage? At first I thought he hurt himself but months went by…"
"I know, it's a mystery."
"Maybe for you, but my two years of experience…" Bragged Horio.
"Kikumaru-senpai's bandage has nothing to do with your two years of experience with tennis." Interrupted Kachiro.
Horio was only sidetracked for a second to glare at his friends. Then presented them with his theory.
"Kikumaru-senpai is secretly in a gang and that bandage is hiding a prison tattoo."
The boys laughed at the idiocy of the idea. The laughter drew the attention of Kaidoh.
"Oi, first years back to work." He growled and the boys snapped to.
At lunch time the first years gathered under the big tree. The boys asked Sakuno and Tomoka for their theories. They were eager to hear some sensible ideas as Horio's were getting wilder. His last suggestion was that Eiji has parents who were secretly pirates and he's hiding a scar from a knife wound.
"That has to be the stupidest thing you ever said." Said Tomoka and the two began to fight.
"Sakuno-chan what do you think it is?" Asked Kachiro while ignoring the others. He really wanted her opinion as the girl was sensible and thoughtful.
"I'm not sure, perhaps his special someone likes it. Kikumaru-senpai is very cute…" The girl paused as she was embarrassed, Katsuo encouraged her to finish her thought.
"…Well, I just thought he was trying to make himself less cute by wearing it. But it only made him even cuter in the eyes of his special someone, so he keeps wearing it." Sukano blushed to the roots of her hair at the boldness of her suggestion.
"Only Kikumaru-senpai doesn't have a girlfriend…" Said Kachiro.
"Really?" The girl asked.
"None that I know off."
"Huh, I was under the impression Kikumaru-senpai was in love…"
"Girls…" Murmured Katsuo.
"Oh, sorry." Said Sakuno.
"Don't apologize, it is the most sensible idea we heard all morning." Said Kachiro.
"Ugh, I'm tired of guessing, let's go back to class." Sighed Katsuo.
The boys and Sakuno stopped Tomoka and Horio from fighting as they were tired of the game and they all went inside.
Eiji and Oishi peeped from their hiding place. They were hiding next to the building for their daily make out session when Eiji heard his name. Now that the first years have gone inside they came forward.
"That granddaughter of the coach is sharp. How did she guess? It was how cute you looked in that bandage that made me kiss you that day." Whispered Oishi with an affectionate smile to his boyfriend.
"How did she know I was in love?" Eiji had a confused look on his face and Oishi wanted to kiss him again, but they could be seen by the students now.
"You wear your heart on your sleeve. It's one of the things I love about you." Said Oishi, so low only Eiji could hear him. Eiji gave Oishi a hug for that and they headed to the third year's floor just as the bell rang.
