I know, short. Should I continue this? But I don't even know what universe this is in. Are they robbers? Murderers? THE MAFIA? Dunno lol
I have a poll on my profile! Please vote! And and and and and I wanna make a multichapter story but I have no freaking idea what to write. Help?
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
He flicked open the lighter with his thumb, allowing the small flame to illuminate the dark room with its light, enveloping his pale face with an unearthly glow. His dark onyx eyes focused on the slightly dancing flame making it reflect on his orbs before he flicked his wrist, allowing the top of the lighter to cover the tiny fire and the room descended into darkness once more. A few seconds passed before he flipped it on again, repeating the process.
His mind was empty, a blank canvas devoid of any color. For him, thinking only brought worry' worry for his family. If he worried, stress would no doubt take over him and he would be rendered useless. He had a short temper; he didn't do well under pressure and he would only be a burden. He couldn't afford to become excess baggage, since he was trusted by everyone, being one of the strongest in the group.
He once again flipped open the lighter, but this time he didn't allow the flame to appear.
Also, he had something to protect. Rather, someone, and he would willingly destroy anyone in his way without hesitation as long as not a strand on her hair be touched.
"Oi teme, go to sleep."
Sasuke grunted in reply to his best friend's sleepy demand. The blond was situated to his right, looking uncomfortable on the floor while using his arms as a makeshift pillow. His blue eyes were swollen with sleep, looking at Sasuke through hooded lids.
"Seriously Sasuke, it's what?" Naruto glanced at his wristwatch, squinting through the dark, "three in the morning. You're creeping me out."
"Shut up."
"Whatever you say, teme," yawning, Naruto rolled over so he showed Sasuke his back, "just look after Sakura-chan if you don't wanna hit the sack."
He didn't need to answer because Naruto knew that he would do so without being told. A few moments after rolling over, the blond's snores began to fill the air and Sasuke moved.
Standing up and ignoring the pain in his joints from not being able to stretch for a good three hours, he ran a hand through his messy blue-black locks then made his way to the other side of the room where the only bed resided. As he neared, his gaze softened at the sight of pink splayed on the pillow, white skin almost glowing in the dimness. The comforter around her body was moving up and down along with her even breathing and his attention automatically zeroed onto her covered stomach.
His heart clenched along with his fists.
A child was already starting to form in that still flat stomach, a miracle amidst this life called hell. This was not supposed to happen. Raising a baby was currently impossible with all that was occurring. They were on the run, most of their allies were dead and they were known as wanted criminals. It was not safe for the baby.
It was not safe for her.
Maybe in the future, a baby would have been everything he wanted; a son or daughter that he would spoil, or maybe both. Preferably both. He and Sakura would live peacefully in one of the Uchiha mansions somewhere in Japan. Osaka would be a nice start, away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo.
He imagined the love of his life standing in front of the stove making dinner, a beautiful smile on her face as she watched the children racing around the kitchen. Such a nice scene.
But first, they had to survive this ordeal. To attain that simple dream of having his own family, they must overcome this. They would survive.
And if he didn't, he would make sure Sakura and their child would.
