Sorry for disappearing, ya'll. All I can say is I wish I was with Luci in this chapter... it woulda been hella easier on me. Anywho. Here ya go. Oh! And I hope to have a second up today.

As it turned out, it was closer to two days. For the first day, no one even knew where Lucifer was. He hadn't shown up to work or his local hangouts and his car wasn't outside his house. Sam had tried calling him several times that evening, and when that didn't work, Charlie and even Cas tried, to no avail. Around midnight on the second day, Sam's phone went off, a very drunk Lucifer on the other end.

"Sammy?" Lucifer asked, well slurred.

"Lucifer?! Where are you?"

"I don't know... some bar in Aggieville."

"You're in Manhattan? How...why?"

"Better bars. Kinda far away. Anyway. I wanted to say I'm sorry. You were right, I didn't have the right to do what I did."

"Luce. I shouldn'tve blown up like I did." Sam talked as he grabbed his wallet and keys. "I didn't mean half of what I said. I'm just getting over Jess, I mean... we were together for so long, and then she was gone. I like you Luce, I guess I have for a while, but I can't move too fast OK?"

"OK." Sam could hear the hope in the other man's voice.

"You gonna remember any of this in the morning, Luce?"

Lucifer laughed lightly, "probably not. Will you remind me?"

"Sure," Sam smiled, "OK. Now can you come up with the name of the bar you're at?"

"A place called Rusty's."

"OK. Now, Luce, can you stay there for about 45 minutes?"

"I guess, why?"

"No way in hell am I letting you drive back to Lawrence. So I'm coming to get you."

Lucifer sighed, "Thanks Sammy."

"OK. So what did you do for the last day and a half?" Sam wanted to keep Lucifer talking so he wouldn't continue his bender. It was also an easy way to make sure Lucifer didn't go anywhere. When Sam got in his truck, he plugged his phone in to keep the battery up and turned on the bluetooth connection to the speakers. He pulled out of the driveway and hit I-70 towards Manhattan.

As he drove, Lucifer talked about all he'd been up to, which was mostly a lot of drinking. He'd gone to a couple bars in Lawrence before deciding to just drive, ending up in Manhattan. It was the Fake Patty's Day Weekend, so Lucifer just joined in, nobody noticing that he wasn't really a college kid. As Sam pulled into town, he made his way to the bar district connected to K-State, finding the one that Lucifer was at. Walking in, he saw the man at the bar, trying to pay for drinks.

As he got closer, Sam could hear the conversation. "I'm sorry sir, but your card's been declined. Do you have another or maybe cash?"

"It can't be declined."
"I'm sorry, sir."

Sam walked over, talking to the bartender, "How much is the tab for?"

"140 bucks."

"Damn, Luce, no wonder your card's maxed out."

"I didn't drink that much," Lucifer said. Sam looked at the bartender who was shaking his head. Sam handed him his credit card, telling him to add a $40 tip.

"I'm sorry for any trouble he's been."

The bartender gestured to the rest of bar as he handed Sam his card back. "No worse than these kids."

As they were leaving, Sam's phone went off. He answered and Charlie's voice filled the cab. "Sam, where are you?"

"Manhattan."

He could hear Charlie tell someone in the background before Dean's voice came on. "What the hell are you doing in Manhattan?"

"Lucifer called me." Sam looked at the sleeping man in the passenger seat. "He was drunk out of his mind. Think Bobby could send someone to come get his car?"

"I'll ask, but dude, it's one in the morning."

"I know. Sorry for disappearing like that. Where are you?"

"We're all at the Black Dog. Today's the day the food critic guy comes, remember?"

"Julian Hanley?"

"Yeah. Him. So we had to get ready. Cas swung by our place to check on you and you were gone. You can't do that, man."

"I'm sorry, Dean, but I couldn't let Luce drive home like this. I'll see you in about half an hour, OK?"

"Yeah. Just bring him by the bar. Ya'll can crash here."

"Thanks, Dee." Sam smiled and could hear in his brother's goodbye that Dean was smiling too at the use of Sam's childhood nickname for his older brother.

OK. So I'm halfway through the next chapter on this one and am almost done with a chapter in the unnamed Samifer/Denny fic. I also had a couple ideas for one shots and one for another fic... it'd be 50's greaser style, so like Grease or the Outsiders. I was thinking Dean be a poor kid and Castiel not so much... yes I know it's been done... but I like the idea so... we'll see. Lemme know what ya'll think!
