Hi! So I'm going to try to update every week, but I don't know how easy that's going to be because of school. There's only one more month of school left before summer break though, and it will be my last year of school- ever! I'll be starting online school after this year so that will give a lot more time to write/update. But anyways, here's the fourth chapter!
It was the next day at SPR. The first half of the day went by almost silently. Monk and the others weren't visiting that day, and Mai was still on her 'speak and he'll fire you' streak. The only eventful thing that happened was Lin actually came out of his to get an apple. He had run out of fruit in his office.
The others came out to the office around 1:00 P.M to hang out.
"Hey kiddo!" Monk exclaimed.
" 'Ello Mai." John waved.
"Hey there." Yasu smiled.
Madoka and Ayako just gave her a big hug.
"Where is Noll?" Masako asked.
"Oh, um, he's in his office, I can get-" By then, Masako was already in his office
'Noll? She used his English Nickname, they must be getting pretty serious.' Mai felt a small frown on her face, but she only let it stay there for a moment.
"So haw is everybody?" Mai asked cheerfully.
"Good." Everyone replied in unison.
"How have you been?" Madoka returned the question.
"I've been fine." Mai answered.
Be honest, how many fights have you and Naru gotten into?" Yasu laughed. By this time, Naru was already doing what he normally did when they come over; listening to their conversation on the security camera through his computer. It was more difficult this time though with Masako blabbing about how much she loved him. How many times would he have to tell her that those dates were just so she would keep her mouth shut?
"Well, none actually." Mai confessed.
"What! You're kidding right?" Monk exclaimed.
"No joke." Mai said, slightly proud of herself, "Well, we really don't even talk to each other. The only word he says normally is tea."
"What's going on?" Madoka asked, very concerned.
"Well, I assumed since we know he's the renowned Dr. Oliver Davis, He expects to be highly respected. It makes sense doesn't it?"
"I guess so..." Ayako agreed.
"See?" Mai said, "So I've been calling him sir, and working really hard so he won't fire me."
'Fire her? I would never do that. I'm actually more likely to fire her if she continues like this.' Naru thought to himself.
"Do you think we should too? I mean we don't work for him, but he might stop calling us in." Monk asked.
"Guys, I think you have it wrong. He didn't care then and he doesn't care now. He's still the same man." Madoka said, worry in her eyes.
"But we didn't know he was Oliver Davis then. He was probably more lenient about things like this." Ayako countered.
"Still, I don't think he cares," Madoka said, brow furrowed, "And I know him really well, so you should trust me."
"Better safe than sorry." Mai said, ending the discussion.
"On a happier note, Housho and I have some news," Ayako explained grabbing his hand.
"Were getting married!" Monk finished.
"I wanted to tell them!" Ayako said exasperated.
"Too late." Monk said. Before this fight could continue, Mai cut in. "How wonderful! When's the wedding?"
"Next year." Ayako said.
"A whole year? Don't you think that's quite a long time?" John piped in.
"We want to save up a lot of money so that it can be a big wedding." Monk answered.
"Ahh... So who are going to be your bridesmaids?" It was obvious Madoka was just asking if she was going to be one.
"Well of course you and Mai, hopefully Masako too." Ayako replied.
"What about you Monk? Who are your groomsmen?" Yasu prodded, doing the same thing Madoka had.
"Um, I was thinking you, John, Naru and Lin. That is of course if those two are up to it."
"Do you really think Lin and Kazu- Oliver, would do it?" John asked.
"Absolutely not. But its worth a shot!" Monk smiled.
The group chatted about anything and everything for a little while. Then John had to leave. A little after he left Yasu had to go. The last people to leave were Monk and Ayako.
'Well that's everybody I guess... wait, Masako is still in Naru's office. I wonder what they've been doing." Mai blushed, cursing her overactive imagination. But then it really got to her. What were they doing? About an hour before it was time to close up and Masako had already left, she got an idea. She decided that at night after everyone had gone, she would sneak in and check the security cameras.
Mai was snapped out of her thoughts when an angry Naru came out of his office and said, "Mai, I called for tea five minutes ago. Where is it?" Mai bowed then almost whispered, "I'm sorry sir, I'll get it right away."
"Mai." Naru said.
"Yes sir? Mai replied. She looked up at him slightly.
"It's Naru. And stop with this nonsense... or I might have to fire you." Naru only stayed outside of his office long enough to see Mai looking at him, eyes gleaming.
'What did I have to do that for? Now she'll probably bug the hell out of me. I should have just stayed quiet. Why was it even bothering me in the first place? I can't believe I acted like that. It was so unlike me. I'll have to be extra mean tomorrow to make sure I get my point across that it was a one time thing. But I guess it's good Mai's back to normal now...' Even at his apartment that night, Naru was trying to decide if he regretted his actions, or if what he did was worth the results. Mai on the other hand slept like a baby, knowing her wonderful Naru is still just as wonderful as before.
Well here it is! Chapter 4! Please review! I love them!
