So, what I originally wanted to do was come up with a second conflict for Velvet and Cardin to face. I've got nothing. So I'm simply going to update a sort of mini one-shot series of Velvet and Cardin's lives. Hope you enjoy. Disclaimer!

"Yatsu, calm down. I can hear your teeth grinding from here."
The giant of a student didn't even acknowledge his leader's remark, just continued to pace back and forth in their dorm room.
"She's been gone for hours; she should have been back by now." Yatsuhashi looked even more agitated when he said that. Coco would have found this funny if . . . no, she found this funny.
"She can look after herself," Fox offered from his spot next to his leader. Coco smirked at his blunt comment.
"He's right; bun can handle herself. So relax Yatsu; I don't think the floor can handle any more of your stomping." The large boy stopped his pacing with an indignant sigh. 'Yep, definitely funny,' the fashionista thought as she watched the usually stoic warrior continue to brood. Little did he know she knew exactly what she was doing. Or who, in this case as she let her mind wander and smirked at the implications of said thoughts. Oh the teasing material she would get out of this. All three heads shot up when the sound of voices could be heard right outside their door.
"See Yatsu? That's probably her right now." Sure enough, a moment later the door opened revealing a familiar pair of rabbit ears. Said ears shot up straight as their owner noticed all attention was on her.
"What?"
"Where were you?" Yatsuhashi asked as he walked up to her. Velvet jumped slightly as the giant walked up to her, a dust of red covering her cheeks easily noticed on her pale skin.
"I told you I would out this evening."
"Yes this evening, not hours after sundown." Velvet didn't say anything; the rabbit merely shrunk away more as another round of red dusted her cheeks. The giant frowned at the sight he would normally find endearing. "Who was that you were talking to?"
Velvet jumped slightly as Coco tensed up. Their leader may have known who Velvet was out with but that didn't mean everyone on their team needed to know, specifically a certain giant samurai. Hopefully she could bail bun out of this one.
"Was that Cardin out there?"
Or Fox could open his mouth and ruin the whole thing. He so wasn't getting cuddles tonight. Yatsuhashi scowled, scowled! He turned back to Velvet who looked increasingly nervous.
"What was he doing here?" He said with obvious contempt in his voice. Velvet would have jumped back again if she wouldn't have hit the wall. She had never seen Yatsu act like this before. Where was the kind, gentle giant who wouldn't hurt a fly? She swallowed before speaking in a meek voice.
"He was just walking me home."
"Why was he walking you home?" She really didn't want to answer that, but she never was good with confrontations. Outside of combat that is.
"He . . . and I . . . were . . ." she trailed off into incomprehensible mumbles. Yatsuhashi narrowed his eyes at her and she squeaked out quickly, "We went on a date!" She clamped her hands over her mouth as she watched the others in the room, aside from Coco, gape in shock. That was until Yatsuhashi's scowl came back.
"You went on a date? With him?! Are you insane?!" Velvet recoiled from that out of hurt more than anything else. Yatsuhashi had never spoken to her like that.
"What are you talking about? What's wrong with him?"
"Velvet he tortured you for the first half of the year now you're dating him?" He spat the word as if even the thought of it filled him with disgust. "You shouldn't be hanging out with him."
That's when Velvet stopped shaking. Something filled her, something she ever rarely felt. She felt angry. Who was he to tell her who to hang out with?! "I don't see how that's any of your business Yatsu!" This time it was his turn to recoil. Velvet never yells!
"As far as I'm concerned, I can date whomever I want and you don't have a say in it! So just sod off!" The door shut behind her with a loud slam. The three hunters stood in shock of what just happened. Yatsuhashi was the first to shake himself out of his stupor. "I'm going after her," he said before closing the door gently.
'Well . . . that was a thing,' Coco thought as she glared over at her partner. He may have been blind but he knew when she was giving him that look. "What?" She merely shook her head with a sigh.
Sometimes boys were just clueless.

"Velvet?"
Cardin was shocked to see the girl he had wished good night not ten minutes ago standing outside his dorm room. She was obviously troubled with the way she clutched nervously at one of her ears. "What the hell do you want freak?" Russel sneered from behind his leader, the other two members of team CRDL watching them all wearily. Cardin had to restrain himself from throwing his partner out the window but he managed. He turned back to the girl in front of him. "Come on." He gave another glance to his team before closing the door and walking down the hall, Velvet close behind. Eventually he led her to the spot on the roof Juaney boy was constantly using.
"So," he said after turning to face her. "What's wrong?" She didn't say anything for a moment but he didn't push. He knew she would tell him what was wrong eventually. "It's Yatsuhashi." His eyes widened at that. Her partner who was more of a giant than even he was?
"What happened?"
"He . . ." She wouldn't say anything more, he knew that but he also needed to know what was wrong. "Vel," he said in a soft tone he didn't even know he had until recently. "Tell me what's wrong."
Velvet breathed deeply. Hearing that voice always reminded her of how Cardin used to act. Mostly of how much he had changed and why she agreed to go on a date with him in the first place. "Yatsuhashi found out we went out on a date."
"What did he do?" Cardin swore if he hurt her he would . . .
"He said I shouldn't hang out with you. Then I got angry and told him to sod off and now-"She was cut off by Cardin's laughter. She narrowed her eyes slightly. "And exactly what is so funny about this?" Cardin continued to laugh for a few more seconds before finally getting out.
"You-you told him to-to-ha ha ha ha!" He couldn't help it. The thought of his timid bunny telling the giant to sod off was possibly the funniest thing he had ever heard. Velvet on the other hand was thoroughly unamused. She scoffed indignantly. "It's not that funny Cardin!"
"I beg he he to differ." The smack to his arm was quick to tell him the joke was over. He cleared his throat. "Right, sorry." He breathed deeply. He looked down at Velvet carefully. "Do you agree with him?" She didn't respond at first. Not because she was thinking about an answer but because she shocked he would even ask such a thing.
"How can you ask me that?!"
"Come on Vel, you know I'm not exactly Mr. Perfect here." Cardin sighed heavily. "The shit I've done . . . maybe he was right." She was going to protest but he cut her off. "Don't bother denying it Vel. I'm a shitty person. How many times have I hurt you? How many times have I humiliated you? I was an idiot and a bully. Someone as kind and gentle as you doesn't deserve to be saddled with me. I mean even after all the shit I've done to you, you forgave me! I don't deserve you. Yatsuhashi was right you shouldn't-*SMACK*
Cardin held his face as the sting settled in. He looked at her in shock. She was crying.
"You idiot." Velvet grabbed him by the collar, pulled him down to her, and crashed her lips into his.
He didn't do anything. What could he do? By the time he even realized what was happening she pulled away.
"I chose to do that. I don't care what either of us deserve Cardin. What do you want?" He thought hard on that, he really did. He thought of all his options at this moment. He could end it here and now. He could walk away and let her find someone better than him.
"I want to do that again." Velvet smirked at the answer.
"Then it's good we want the same thing." As they leaned in to embrace each other once again, Cardin smiled.
He didn't want this moment to end.

Cardin didn't bother to keep track of the time. He didn't know how long he was on that roof with Velvet. It could have been minutes, hours, he didn't care. He just couldn't stop smiling as he opened the door to his dorm room. But then that smile vanished when he saw his team standing in front of the door, their arms crossed, and the window open. The same window that where he could hear whenever Juane was . . . Oh shit.
Funny thing is that as I was writing that kissing scene I was listening to "Yours to Hold' by Skillet. Now I'd like to point out that despite my name, I don't have much experience writing romance.
