Demons and humans alike crowded the Ito grounds. Gossip and rantings filled the air and hung over the place. Many were convinced the new god was simply a demon trying to fool Inutaicho. Others had thought it was a scheme to keep Yue from being married into another family. Tenka heard the many rumors surrounding Kagome's appearance and Yue's engagement to the Ito deity. The Rajiu was sure that stress lines were apparent on his face. When he had decided he heard enough, it was time to clean up the grounds. Lightning and thunder boomed overhead. Cries and gasps of suprise heard. Rain came down with avangance and soaked the unwelcomed guests. Tenka's presence had flooded the area thick and heavy just like the rain. Those who knew of him fled the area. The rain and lighting that nearly touched the earth scared off those who had not none better. Some foolish few remained, but Tenka had a trick for them as well. "Komainu wake up. We have stubborn uninvited guests."
The stone statues of lion dogs came to life in a burst of blue and violent flame. Rain evaporated on the over heated beasts as it fell upon them. They were living and breathing as if they had always been. The pair leapt from their matching pedestals and ground groaned upon impact of their weight. The broad headed dogs stepped in front of Tenka with flattened ears and tucked in tails. Although massive with lion like fangs and claws, they behaved like simple dogs with a lions wrath. Tenka had breathed life into them and therefore his will was their will as well. The pair stared down at Tenka with big black eyes. But puppy eyes would not break Tenka's feeling of disappointment. "Clean up the grounds or I'll be forced to replace you." Almost immediately the komainu's demeanor changed. It took them a short amount of time to clear the steps of unwelcome guests. There had been several gasps of surprise and cries om anguish. But the dogs only brought harm upon those foolish enough to even dream of challenging Kagome. With the clean up duo set to work Tenka made his way up the steps. The rain seemed to phase right through his being as if he were a ghost.
When the place was being built Tenka made special care when creating the komainu. They would protect the shrine in his absence or if he was occupied protecting kagome. He hadn't allowed them to meet Kagome yet. Kagome got attached to those of the canine variety, but Tenka had a need for guards, not pets. If they weren't useful then he would try again. He did realize he could have opted for a different animal. But his sense of humor wouldn't allow him to chose anything but the lion dogs. Dogs were a simple bunch, but they were loyal to a fault.
At the top of the steps the pair of dogs roared and growled ferociously. Their furry and manes standing up right, with electricity cackling through their being. But they had nor dared step closer to the intruder. Tenka was not surprised to find that it was Guiren. He stood with his hair soaked with rain and his arms crossed. His expression stony and stoic. He was dressed finely in black silk and seeing as his clothes were dry they must have been of the demonic variety. His sword seemed ready at his hip. Those golden eyes saw passed the lion dogs, and we're trained on Tenka. "Heel. Don't bother with him. I rather you remove the more annoying pests." The Rajiu waved the lion dogs off. They left to rid the grounds of other intruders with a huff. "Mumei, it seems you have been busy in your time away from the Shiro." His voice was steady and almost uninterested. But Tenka knew better than that. "My Master has been kind enough to name me Tenka. It would be wise to use it in reference to me Tengu."
The black haired dog demon visibly twitched in annoyance. Hus eyes narrowed and if looks could kill then the Raiju would have been dead. Guiren would not have allowed anyone else to insult him in this way. But Tenka was monster beyond him. It would be foolish to kick a monster such as him."Tenka.." The name tasted foreign to the black dog, but he continued anyways." I have matters to discuss with your... Master. Apparently my dear brother is being foolish again." Tenka's violet pink eyes did not so much as blink. "... You think my master has the time to waste on you? It seems like you've still over estimate your place Ren." Tenka had seen this pup struggle to be on top his whole life. He always had more bark then bite when compared to his siblings. Yue had more fangs then both the brothers combined. If he had not bothered to respect the pup around his sire, then there was no reason to do so now with him grown and his sire passed. If there was one thing Guiren would not forgive and it was disrespect. Tenka had seen his father deeply in grain that in his eldest son. However Tenka was immune to such a thing. Guiren clicked his tongue in annoyance. His fingers itched to draw his sword. But the celestial beast was untouchable in a sense. Guirens sire had not allowed him to even attempt to cut the beast down. Tenka had the respect and fear that one could only hope to inspire.
"I simply wish to ask his intentions. It is my right as Yue's brother." Vaguely Tenka wondered if the young pup knew how entitled he sounded. But honestly the pup had probably thought he sounded humble at at best. It sounded almost cruel to leave Sesshoumaru in the care of a dog this proud. It may just ruin him in the long run. But Tenka had no time to think about such things.
"Ahh. I see then. I hope you are not so foolish then. I would hate to cut down one of Susumu's sons. After all he was a dear friend of mine." Electricity cackled around Tenka as he walked passed Guiren, a silent warning in the air. The Rajiu may have seemed to be on the same ground as the other noble youkai, but he was more then they could imagine. Tenka had darted through the ages searching for his Master. He was a heavenly beast, time meant nothing to him. Demons may have sturdy bodies and the potential to live seemingly immortals lives. But they were weak minded. They either lost their lives to battle or were unable to adapt and evolve.
The god companion had finally found Kagome in one of the bigger living rooms of the shrine. The Kami was sat on top of a transformed Inutaicho. The kami had buried them self in the mass of long white fur. Tenka could only laugh in amusement. The mighty lord of the was being treated as a common dog. "Apparently the only way to soothe a wrathful kami is to allow them to play with your ears and pet your fur." Tough sounded amused with the situation. "Tennnnnnka. Do you have a animal form?" Kagome drunkenly hi-cupped as they sat atop of Inutaichou. The Rajiu hadn't even bothered to seem surprised. This was definitely something his master would do in his absence. "I have a form slightly similar."
Kagome's face was screwed up in thought. It was extremely cute and almost child like. In the moment the Kami's form was androgynous. Tenka doubted Kagome had even realized the change. "Can I see?" Tenka simply shook his head no. "Maybe when you aren't so drunk. I'm offended you had not waited on me. I haven't been able to share a drink with my dear Kagome. But little Touga has. I'm jealous." Kagome's eyes got big in surprise and guilt bit into them. The Kami leaped from the dog and into Tenka's arms. The raiju caught his master without missing a beat. The kami clung to him as if their lives depended upon it.
Just like that the walls Kagome had built up between them had crumbled. So many things and feelings passed through Tenka as if he had experienced them on his on. He was sure that Kagome was going through very much the same. Kagome's past lives had been relived in a single moment. If kagome and he had been less than what they were, than he was sure they would have lost themselves to madness. Kagome was a simple earth bound god with the duty to restore balance. Kagome and Tenka were meant to ensure that neither of the dominant races wiped out another.
