Chapter 5- Im currently on the road so to pass the time I decided to write another chapter. Judging from the reviews on the last chapter I believe my writing ability has risen dramatically. Well Ik ur just here for the next chapter so, without further adeu i present Chapter 5!

Soul Society

After the fiasco with the 5th company, Ace's desk had been blown up with paperwork.

"Ugh so much paperwork over a single fight, this is insane! Oh well, I guess its a small price to pay for fixing that problem." Said Ace softening his eyes towards his new Vice Captain "Isn't that right Hinamori?"

Hinamori looked up from her load of paperwork, gave her captain a warm smile and replied "Hai, Captain Ace!"

Ace gazed into Hinamori's eyes for a good 5 minutes before they were interrupted by a messager bursting into the room. "Captain of Squad 5, Portagas D. Ace you have been summoned by the Head Captain!"

"Eh the big guy huh? Ok then I will be right there." Said Ace getting up and heading out "Be back in a little bit Hinamori, If you get done with your work don't be afraid to start on mine, Bye!"

Hinamori's eyes made thier way over to her captains gigantic stack of papers and then over to hers again "Captain Ace your a jerk."

In the Head Captain's Quarters

"Ehh so you guys got called too" Said Ace to Minato, and Itachi

"Yea Im Guessing this is a "New Captains Only" Meeting" Said Minato with a bright smile that seemed to match Ace's, meanwhile Itachi only nodded.

Just then the Head Captain called for them and they all filed into the room. "As you all might be aware of now, the troops have a hard time adjusting to new captains, Especially the 3rd company after what happened with Amagai, so you Itachi will have the hardest time convincing your company to trust you-"

"With all due respect, Head Captain Genryusai I don't require the trust of those people. They will follow my orders precisely and exactly, or they will face severe punishment. It is as simple as that." Said Itachi the same meloncholy expression on his face.

Everyone's faces varied at that statement, from Understanding (Minato), to Reprimandment(Ace), to resolved(Genryusai).

"Itachi was a ANBU commander so he is only used to extremely obedient subordinates but thats going to have to change abit in this case" Thought Minato.

"Dude that's not how subordinates usually work, whats this guys deal?" Thought Ace.

"I see, Well moving on the reason i called you here was to give you missions for the sake of bonding with your Sqaud. Minato I want you to take your squad and head to the the world of the living and rendevous with our substitute shinigami, Kurosaki ichigo, to help supress a wave of rampant hollows. Find the source and eliminate it."

"Ace you will go to the world of the living as well but you will be there to go and ask a certain group of Ex-Shinigami about thier alliance in the up and coming war."

"And Lastly Itachi you will be going to track down a certain pair Rogue Shinigami who had recently been working with hollows for money. the only thing we know about them is that one carries a gigantic blade and one uses an Ice shikai."

"Got it dismissed! Except for you Itachi stay behind." Minato and Ace filed out leaving just Itachi and Genryusai in the room.

"Itachi, I know that you might not exactly be the "Leader" type, But i chose you because i saw potential of a great commander. But you should know that even soldiers are human, and you need to respect each other before u can truly be a Captain. So make the best of this chance to bond with your squad."

"Yessir." Replied Itachi and filed out.

Hueco Mundo

A lone masked figure walked into a dark hidden den. "Yo. King of the sands Gaara."

A 16 foot Tanuki turned around with dangerous yellow eyes and looked the figure in its face. "Who Are you and how do u know my real name?"

"I know alot about you. I know that you have a lack of sanity, that you are angry, confused and that you are powerful." Said the figure stepping close enough to divulge the fact that he wore a swirled mask and that he only had one red, swirling eye with 3 tome. "But what if i told you that i could make you even more powerful."

"What?" Exclaimed Gaara eyes growing wide at the reveal of the information.

"Im sure that you have heard of the recent method of obtaining great power which involved ripping your mask off."

"You think I'm a fool? Yes i have heard of it and every person i have seen try it has died." Said Gaara narrowing his eyes.

"Thats because they didnt have the proper artifact needed for the ritual." Said the Masked figure giving Gaara a smug eye smile.

"What artifact?" Asked Gaara Intrigued

"A Hogyoku."

Alright Chapter 5 done. So as u can see this was a set up chapter for lots of interesting events to come, dont worry I have plans for Masked man, not just as a filler. Anyway I will continue writing. See ya later.
