Wow! This story excites me more and more! So many different ways it could go! I just can't wait to decide where I want it to go! If anyone has any ideas, let me know, and I'll incorporate them into my general planned plot line! It will be going a touch darker soon and we'll just see how dark I want it to go.

Not as it Appears

Kurt arrived in the tall entrance to the mansion. Usually there was a hand full of students wondering around the house, looking for something to do, but it was quiet. Never a good sign. Kurt looked around for the Professor. He checked his study, the rec room, even his bedroom. The Professor or anyone for that matter was nowhere to be found.

Kurt then remembered the bulletin board in the kitchen. People would always leave notes there, telling the rest where they would be. Kurt teleported to the kitchen, and sure enough, there was a note for him. It was in Kitty's handwriting, he could tell it from anywhere.

Dear Kurt,

The Professor is taking us all to the waterfront. When you get home and read this, you're welcome to come along.

Kitty

Kurt's mind was put at ease. They were not all kidnapped like he thought, they were just off at the waterfront. Kurt headed out of the kitchen, into the front lounge room. He was about to teleport to the waterfront, when he heard noises outside. Kurt went by the window, and saw protesters at the gates. This was not an unusual occurrence, ever since the mansion was ousted as a school for mutants, they were regularly the target for large protests. However, this group made Kurt feel that he shouldn't go with the others, better stay home, and not draw more negative attention to his friends. Though he was accepted, kind of, at school, he knew the public out there, would never accept him.

That's when Kurt heard the rumbling of the ground. It was so bad, Kurt fell into one of the couches that was behind him.

"Avalanche?" Kurt thought.

Kurt's question of who it was was answered, when a figure wearing a purple cape, and red armor came down in front of the window. Kurt gasped.

"Magneto?!" Kurt exclaimed.

Magneto then headed towards the front door, forced it open, then walked inside the mansion.

Kurt teleported in front of him, in a defensive stance.

"Vat are you doing here Magneto?!" Kurt asked, showing his fangs.

"It is simple Kurt." Magneto answered in his usual low voice. "It is to congratulate you on your success today."

"Zat's not all you're here for. Vhat do you really vant?" Kurt inquired.

"To give you truth." Magneto answered, "You see. Back when you found out when Mystique was your mother, I feared that see would let you know too much about the night Rouge told you about. I had to stop her, but know, I have decided that you deserve to know the truth."

Kurt's eyes widened at this.

"Vhy should I trust you?" Kurt asked.

"What would I gain by attacking your home? What reason other than truth could I be here for?" Magneto looked at Kurt with sincerity.

"Alright. Tell me vat you have to say." Kurt told him.

"Sixteen years ago, I was planning a new method of enhancing mutant powers. You already know of my second attempt at asteroid M, but the first was conducted in northern Germany. When you were born with your unusual features, Mystique came to me and asked me to try to make you normal, or give you here shape shifting abilities. I tried to do that, but the results were flawed. The procedure made you look like yourself. You did not always look like this Kurt, you looked like your mother. Blue skinned, five fingers, five toes, no tail. I made you this way, and I have always lived with the guilt. I'm sorry."

When Magneto finished, Kurt looked at him straight in the face.

"You tried to make me normal? You? Sorry, I don't buy it. You did somezing else to me. Somezing you're even more guilty of." Kurt told him.

"Yes." Magneto said, "I enhanced your teleportation abilities, and made it easier for you to heal from injuries, due to your heightened metabolism. How do you think you recovered from that bullet wound a few days ago so quickly, with no residual effects? Or got out of that angry mob without and remaining scars?"

"How do you know about the shooting? How do you know I vas shot? No one released that information." Kurt asked.

Magneto looked at him with shock.

"You! You arranged for the shooting to take place vhere it did! Vhy did you vant to kill me?!" Kurt looked at Magneto with anger.

"My dear boy, who said he was aiming at you?" Magneto asked.

"Jason? Why did you vant to kill Jason?!" Kurt asked.

"What do you know about him Kurt? Do you know who he is, really?" Magneto asked.

"Vhat are you talking about?! Jason is a human! He is no threat to you!" Kurt told Magneto.

"Is he human? You know his father, the superintendent. His father is dead. He was a military colonel. Shot and killed during an operation in Afghanistan. Please Kurt, listen to me. He implanted that vision of you getting congratulated by the Superintendent and the principal, inside your mind. When you were in the dinner, and that server who immediately knew who you were, they were being told to say that, by him. He is a very powerful telepath, and you need to get away from him!" Magneto pleaded.

Kurt looked down. It all makes sense. Jason was grateful for Kurt saving his life, and in return, he makes all the people that would try and hurt Kurt, like him.

"Let me ask you, another question. What is Jason's last name? Did he even tell you that?" Magneto asked.

Kurt thought about the question, he did not know what Jason's last name was. He has assumed it was Liber, like his 'father', but according to Magneto, that was not the case.

"Vat is his real last name?" Kurt asked.

"Stryker" Magneto said.

"What's going on here?!" Kurt heard a voice say behind him.

The Professor, along with Scott, Jean, and Kitty had arrived home.

"Not to fear Charles. I was just leaving." Magneto said, as he flew away through the damaged to, that he manipulated to fix.

Kitty ran up to Kurt.

"Kurt, are you alright?" Kitty asked.

"I don't know. Magneto just told me some pretty enlightening things. Professor?" Kurt turned to Professor Xavier. "Do you know someone by the name of Colonel Stryker?"

Sorry for the shortness, I wanted to leave it on a cliffhanger. Did I make this twist too obvious, or were you genuinely surprised? Review and tell me! Thanks for reading this chapter!
