Crossed Paths
"Have you got him yet Professor?" Kitty asked.
"Not yet Kitty, I'm still searching." The Professor told the teenager as she passed back and forth on the cerebro pylon.
"Professor, you have to go faster! Imagine what that kid could be doing to Kurt!" Kitty snapped at the Professor.
They had been searching for Kurt's mental signature for the past three hours with no detection. Both Kitty, and Charles were becoming irritated.
"Kitty, you know cerebro can only detect him when he uses his powers! I have told you that at least ten times by now!" The Professor snapped back.
Kitty took a step back the Professor never shouted at her before, not like that.
"Kitty, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to shout." The Professor took off the helmet and wheeled towards Kitty, and put a comforting hand on her arm, "I'm worried too. Don't worry, I'll never let any of my X-men be taken from me this way. We will find him. Now, get some sleep Kitty. If I find anything, I'll alert you."
Kitty nodded, and headed out of the spherical room. The Professor was right, she needed sleep. She hadn't realized it was already midnight.
As she rode up the elevator, Kitty couldn't stop the tears from flowing.
"Kurt, where are you?" She said to herself.
The elevator door then opened and she saw a lone light on in the living room. Kitty walked towards it. She entered the room with the comforting bright walls, and the fire place, which wasn't lite, but always had a comforting charm to it, no matter if its function was not being used.
"Hey Rouge." Kitty said as she sat down next to her roommate.
Rouge remained silent, just starred ahead, unblinking.
"You know," Rouge said after a few seconds, "Right now, Kurt would be doing something like putting itching powder in Bobby's sheets or messing with my stuff. I used to hate when I would catch him reading my books, especially my horror books, cause he would get nightmares so easily. Now, when I go in our room, I, I don't see him. My books are all neat, right where I left them. I couldn't stay in there. It just wasn't right."
Rouge allowed a single tear to roll down her cheek uninterrupted.
"Rouge, the Professor, or one of the search teams will find him. He'll be back to mess with your stuff again. Only this time, you'll have to counsel him through his nightmares, not Scott." Kitty tried to cheer up her friend. It helped a little. "Come on, we gotta get some sleep."

He was playing the piano. His fellow X-men gathered around him, and were listening to him play Fur Elise perfectly. The notes came so naturally to him. After he finished, his friends applauded him.
"Well done Kurt!" The Professor cheered.
"Play us another one fuzzy!" Kitty suggested.
Kurt thought, and he picked the perfect one.
He put his hands in position to play. He then stopped. He starred at his hands, something wasn't right.
"Jason! Stop it!" Kurt broke the illusion.
"Oh, but Kurt, you were doing so well! Why would you want to stop?" Jason asked.
They were back in the warehouse. Kurt was still tied to the chair, and he felt something around his neck.
"Oh, I see you've noticed the little gift I gave you. I call it a mutant inhibitor collar. Something my father thought up. It keeps you, in here, and stops you from going far away. Neat huh?" Jason talked to Kurt as if they were just sitting at lunch together.
"Jason, please. Vat are you up to? Vhy are you doing zis to me?" Kurt asked as calmly as he possibly could, trying to avoid aggravating the illusionist.
"Oh, simple, I'm trying to give you a better life." Jason told Kurt.
"By holding me captive?" Kurt asked.
"Let me explain, you see, the world we live is a cruel and sadistic world. I knew that when it took my father. I thought kindness was at its end with me, and then you saved my life. But, I heard the thoughts of all those who saw you stop that gunman. So, I switched their thoughts to immediately accept you. I couldn't let them hurt you, not you, such a beautiful creature. My savior and protector." Jason's hand went to Kurt's face as he stroked the blue mutant's chin.
Kurt became increasingly uncomfortable by all of this. He turned his face away from Jason.
"Oh, don't act too shy from me, my Nightcrawler. You'll learn to love me." Jason moved closer to Kurt, "And if you can't, there's no illusion that I can't make, no creatures from Hell, no event too gory, no friend too dear that I can't torture you with." Jason grabbed Kurt's face with force, and forced his lips on Kurt's.
Kurt tried to force Jason away, but he was too strong. Kurt then used the combined weight of both of them to make Kurt fall backwards. The chair hit the ground with great force that it shattered. Now Kurt was free, he got to his feet, and tried to attack Jason. Jason, used his mental powers to knock Kurt out.
"Cleaver Kurt, but you won't get away that easily. I actually don't like this location, it seems a little boring. I know somewhere." Jason deactivated Kurt's collar, and used his powers to make Kurt teleport to the basement of an old church.
"Oh yes! So much better!" Jason exclaimed.
The room was circular with large columns supporting the roof above them. In the middle was a stone table, probably used for meetings back when the church was first founded.
Jason set Kurt down on the table, and reactivated his inhibitor collar. Jason also tied down Kurt's limbs, including his tail, to the table.
"Now, shall we continue?" Jason said, as he used his powers to awake Kurt.
"Vhat, vhere are ve?" Kurt asked.
"Just a little location I found with my mother. Back then she was willing to try anything to get me to stop using my powers. She called on the help of local monks to help. They used this exact room to try and prey the evil out of me, and, let's just say, it didn't do as they intended." Jason said as he felt around Kurt's arms.
"Please, Jason, if you let me go, I von't tell the X-men vhere you are. I'll let you go free." Kurt tried to reason with his captor.
"Don't you understand. I don't want to be free. All I want is you." Jason told Kurt as he moved close to Kurt's face and held Kurt's chin in his hand.
"Jason, vhatever you do to me, it won't be real. My heart belongs to somevne else." Kurt explained.
"Is that what has kept you going? The thought of another? Well, once I destroy all these thoughts, you will learn to love me. And we'll be together, forever." Jason took Kurt's cheek in his palm.
Jason reached into Kurt's mind.
"No, stop!"

Kitty held on to Rouge's shoulder as Rouge had taken comfort in Kitty's presence. Suddenly Kitty heard the Professor's voice.
Kitty I found him!
Kitty looked at Rouge.
"Rouge! The Professor found Kurt!" Kitty shot up from the couch and ran to the elevator, with Rouge trailing her.
Once they reached cerebro the Professor was waiting for them.
"Well, where is he?!" Rouge asked.
"New York city, Manhattan." The Professor told them.
"Right, Rouge, call back all the search teams, I'll prep the Blackbird." Kitty told Rouge.
"Kitty, it will still take a while to find him, I don't have an exact location." The Professor told Kitty.
"Professor we have to try." Kitty told him.
The Professor nodded. After Kitty left, the Professor turned back towards cerebro, and looked at Kurt's picture.
"Please be alright." The Professor said to himself.
The Professor then sensed a presence behind him, he turned around quickly.
"Charles, please, I know I'm the last person you want to see, but please. He's my son." Mystique looked at Charles with pleading eyes.
"I know. You can accompany us, if you so desire." The Professor told the shape shifter.
"Just don't try anything missy." Logan said, suddenly appearing behind her, "If I see so much as a hand raised against one of my kids, you won't be on the ride home." Logan looked at her with daggers in his eyes.
"I'm just trying to save my son! There is no other motive!" Mystique told the shorter man.
"Fine, then we won't have a problem." Logan turned away from her, and walked on. "Elf, you better be okay. If you aren't, no one will stop me from what I have to do.
Alright, that's all folks! Review and tell me what you think! Thanks for reading, and as always:
