Author's Note: Well, well, well ... of course I should be preparing for an exam right now but I felt bad for everyone that has read the story and wants me to continue and I just haven't done anything to it in four months. I apologize for my lack of updates. I promise to be better. OF COURSE I will be better as this is a wonderful way of procrastination. If you find anyone that can help me ... send them my way. It's kinda urgent. Anyway ...

The Nightgown Dislocalization - Proposition - Chapter 5

Just like that the room was empty. The covers carelessly thrown to the side, the bed unmade, one door of his drawer not fully closed and the closet door stood wide open. 'He must have had one hell of a day,' Leonard combined and went t search for his roommate in the bathroom. When he found the rest of the apartment equally deserted, he wrecked his brain.

Where could Sheldon have gone?

Leonard slowly checked the apartment again, room after room until he was one hundred per cent sure that his roommate was nowhere to be found. As far as he remembered, there were no scheduled emergency protocol trainings (not that that would prevent Sheldon from scheduling an unscheduled emergency protocol training!) nor any other event that Dr. Sheldon Cooper would declare fathomable to leave his bed at this unusual time of night.

Stifling a yawn, he closed the apartment door and scruffed back into Penny's apartment. His fiancée has just cleared any remainders of the movie night and was just about to make her way to the bedroom when Leonard re-entered her apartment.

"Hey, what took you so long?" Penny asked, her brows furrowed in confusion. She, too, needed to stifle a yawn.

"I just had to be sure..." Leonard trailed off, his gaze staring into nothingness. At first, Penny assigned this to his obvious fatigue but something with the tone of her voice made her feel as if there was more to the story.

"You had to be sure of ... what exactly?" she asked and ushered Leonard on into the bedroom.

I had to be sure he really wasn't there..." Leonard said. Penny stopped in her tracks, increasing the distance between them as Leonard sloppily undressed himself at the foot of her bed.

"Excuse me .. what?"

"He is not there. The apartment is empty. He must've left in a hurry, his room is everything but tidy..." Leonard explained, his fiancée's gaze still fixed on his every movement.

"Are we sure he wasn't abducted by aliens?" Penny questioned.

"Are we sure they would want him back?" Leonard grinned.

"Fair point!" Penny concurred but became solemn within seconds, "are we sure nothing happened to him? I mean, nothing serious?"

"You mean as in, his lovely personality and quirks gain him friends and admirer for each breath that he takes?" Leonard huffed but Penny's concern worried him. Was he taking the situation too lightly? He didn't really know.

"Ohhhh, why don't we track him again?" Penny suggested, slipping under the covers, grabbing her phone on the nightstand.

"Are you sure? Last time we tracked him at the station he wasn't too happy we had done it..." Leonard expressed his concern at Sheldon's possible revenge for their spy agenda.

"This is what you get for chasing after a balloon!" Penny smirked and started the program on her phone. The more the GPS tracker narrowed down the location of their quirky friend, the more anxious both Penny and Leonard got. When the signal came to a halt and they realized where Sheldon had to be at almost 3am in the morning they stared at each other, dumbstruck.

"Are you really sure you are ok with it?" Amy asked for what felt like the hundredth time during the short minutes Sheldon had spent in the bathroom. She currently stood in front of the bathroom door and talked to the wooden door.

"I already assured you a couple of times, I am..." Sheldon quietly replied, almost inaudible through the barrier that was the bathroom door, "now stop talking. I can't be distracted when I floss. I don't wanna miss. If my gums start bleeding, the night will be very unpleasant."

"I'll leave you to your flossing, then ..." Amy grinned. Exhaustion wore her down but the excitement to have her boyfriend in her apartment at this time of night bubbled up and her stomach made little twists and turns the moment she dared to think that they would be having a sleepover in some short minutes. An unplanned, unannounced and fully spontaneous sleepover, initiated by Sheldon. Amy decided to return to the bedroom to not pressure her boyfriend further by eagerly awaiting him finishing up his nightly routine. She made her way back to her bedroom, realizing that they hadn't talked about sleeping arrangements. yet. She didn't know whether to choose her usual side or to wait for him to decide together. She still stood there, pondering her possibilities, when Sheldon re-entered the bathroom, dressed in his sleeping attire, his hair freshly combed and the smell of baby powder so strong that Amy had to close her eyes for a second. She exhaled deeply and turned toward Sheldon, her eyes darkening nuance by nuance at the closeness of him.

Sheldon swallowed. Hard.

"I wasn't sure which side you would be taking," Amy said and gestured toward the bed, "I know you have your routines."

"That's very considerate of you," Sheldon replied, a sudden shyness noticeable.

"Of course," Amy replied, still standing in the same spot as before, waiting for his decision.

"You go ahead," Sheldon said, willing to compromise which caused Amy to raise her eyebrows.

"Really?" she asked, incredulously.

"Now, hurry before I can change my mind," Sheldon grinned mirthfully and Amy could not help but grin back at him. Amy slipped under the cover on the left side of the bed and scooted over to the far left corner of the bed, allowing him to take up as much space as he would be needing. Preoccupied with her decision and with climbing into bed she did not notice Sheldon's gaze fixed on her shape, the curves of her body and the way her nightwear hugged all the right places just exactly right ...

Sheldon swallowed again. Oh boy. This would be one interesting night. He slowly made his way to the right side of the bed and cursed his spontaneous decision to have a sleepover. This attire of hers would get him into all kinds of trouble. He wasn't even sure if she knew.

Amy turned toward her nightstand to switch off the light, "ready?" she asked and Sheldon nodded.

"Alright then, goodnight, Dr. Cooper," Amy said and switched the light off.

As the moon dimly lit the room, Sheldon's eyes remained wide open as he whispered, "Goodnight, Amy."
