Edward's POV

The last few months have been the greatest months I have ever had. I moved in with the love of my life and my beautiful 5 month old daughter Renesmee. I have been on crutches for the last week and a half and hopefully can stand by myself soon.

Right now I am hanging with the guys. Bella and Renesmee went to pick up her father who is visiting for the weekend which is good for what I am planning.

"Guys I'm thinking of asking Bella to marry me." I say out of nowhere.

"Mate! Good on ya get in there why don't ya!" Emmett yells whacking my shoulder.

"Good job man, I hope she says yes, I don't know why she wouldn't she's crazy about you." Jasper says shaking my hand.

"Nah in all seriousness man congrats and I know you guys will make each other very happy." Emmett says quietly.

"Thanks guys." I say

"Oh group hug." Emmett yells.

Jasper comes unwillingly I start pushing back in my couch.

"no… no… no." No use they come straight at me and wrap their arms around me.

"What a nice thing to come home to." I hear Bella's voice from the doorway.

"Hi that was nothing, nothing at all." I say trying to cover my tracks hoping she hadn't heard that conversation.

"Right." Bella says dragging on the 'I'.

"Where do you want me to put my stuff Bell's?" I hear Charlie call.

"In the second room on the right." Bella calls.

I hear Renesmee gurgle, which is the most adorable sound I have ever heard.

Apparently Bella saw me giving my daughter googly eyes. "Come on Renesmee let's go see daddy."

"what I didn't think you knew who the father was Bells?" Charlie says rounding the corner.

Bella was close enough to me for me to whisper " You haven't told him yet?"

"I was waiting until he was here before I did." She whispers back.

"Let's just hope he didn't smuggle some guns here." Bella playfully nudges my arm.

Renesmee gurgles again and I smile up at her.

Bella hands me Renesmee and watch her eyelids flutter open.

And then something amazing happens.

She's staring right into my eyes and suddenly a huge gummy smile spreads across her face. She's smiling at me. Her first actual smile is at me.

"Dad I hav….." Bella starts to say.

"Bella come here quick." I call not taking my eyes off her for a second.

"What? What is it?" She asks hearing her rush over, I can tell the moment she sees her, because all of her breath gushes out.

"Oh my God is she?" Bella asks sounding like she is on the verge of tears.

"She's smiling Bella, Renesmee is actually smiling.

"Hey beautiful are you smiling at daddy hey?" she coos touching her finger down Renesmee's cheek.

"So you're the father?" Charlie asks, I totally forgot he was here.

"Um…yeah. Yeah I am." I say the nerves coming back up with the fiery glare that he is giving me.

"Ok this is where I leave." Jasper calls pulling Emmett behind him. "Let's go Emmett."

"No we can't go now there is going to be a showdown."

"Bye everybody." Jasper calls again and disappears with Emmet screaming at him to let him stay.

That's when Charlie decides to speak up.

"Bella can you leave the room for a minute?"

"What?" Bella asks shocked.

"Well I would ask him to come for a walk but he obviously isn't in any state to walk anywhere right now is he?"

"Dad this isn't necessary." Bella says obviously by my terrified glance.

"Oh it is Bella, please just go to another part of the house, you know what I wouldn't actually mind a cup of tea."

"But-" Bella tries again but gets cut off.

"No buts, and no listening in and I'll know if you do I have very good ears you know that."

Bella comes to take Renesmee off me but I don't let her go.

"Please leave her, she's my protection." She smiles and kisses my cheek. "You'll be fine."

As soon as the door closes Charlie pounces.

"Good to see you didn't knock her up and dump her."

"Excuse me?" I ask shocked at what he is saying.

"I've seen the way you have looked at her in the past. However, I do know how males operate. All I want to know have you been taking good care of my girl Edward?"

"Um… As much as I could Charlie."

"Why did you pause?"

God this guy is good.

"well, you see sir, what happened was Renesmee was conceived at a party and we had both had a little bit too much to drink…"

"Oh so Renesmee was a mistake is that what you are getting at?" Charlie asks seeming to getting angrier and angrier by the minute.

"No sir, Renesmee has never been and never will be a mistake though she was not exactly planned she is a miracle, my precious little miracle." I say cuddling up to Renesmee.

"I can see the love you have for your daughter Edward but I would like to know about your intentions with my daughter. I mean are you only here because she is the mother of your daughter? Or because you are guilty? I mean what really are you here for, you and Bella have been friends for years BEST friends I've let you sleep at my place now and again. And in those years nothing has happened so why now?"

Charlie sat down on the couch directly across from me. I gently and slowly sat down thinking about my answer.

"Well?" Charlie asks getting impatient.

"Well sir, the thing is I love your daughter. And not out of guilt and not because she is the mother of my daughter although it makes me fall in love with her all that much more seeing her interact with her child, but because it's Bella. To be honest sir I cannot remember a time when I wasn't in love with her, she is beautiful inside and out. She is the most genuine person I have ever met and I could not imagine my life without her no matter how I tried I have to have her." I finished

"What do you mean tried? Did you try and stay out of her life?"

"Oh well um when she found out about being pregnant she was so upset and I couldn't tell her it was me. I knew it was me because I was her first. I knew I had to tell her but I was so scared of losing her that I couldn't tell her so I tried to stay away but it didn't work. And then she found out about it overhearing me and my sister talking about it and she was mad and didn't talk to me for a long time. I know I should have told her sooner but I couldn't bring myself to do it. To be honest sir I am a weak man I am terrible at owning up to things because I get so terrified of how people are going to take it. But this, I shouldn't of kept quiet about. I understand if you do not like me and do not want me around your daughter. However as much as I respect you I can't leave your daughter. She and Renesmee are the two best things in my life and I would be so lost without them."

The room was silent for a bit, Charlie seemed to be taking everything in. When he finally speaks up.

"Although I am not extremely happy about how this all came about, but I am happy that she has someone like you. The way you spoke about her shows me how much you truly do love her just speaking about her I can see a whole lot of difference in you. You were so nervous when I was speaking to you and then when you started talking about Bella your face totally lit up. So yes I approve of you guys."

"Thank you Charlie I truly do love her. There is also one other thing I would like to discuss with you. Well not quite discuss but to ask."

"Go ahead boy spit it out."

"Well I kind of… well…. I… want to….."

"Stop stuttering boy."

"I want to ask Bella to marry me!" I blurted out.

Charlie sat shocked.

"And I would kind of like it if we could kind of have your blessing."

"H-have you already asked her?" If this was any other situation I would have pulled him up for his stuttering but this is not any other situation.

"No sir I wanted to get your blessing before I asked her. I am kind of old fashioned that way."

"Are you sure you really love her?"

"Yes sir I truly do."

"And you won't leave her after one big fight?"

"N I will never leave her again I couldn't live with myself if I did I couldn't rob Renesmee of one or both of her parents."

"Well then Boy, I give you my blessing. Let's just hope she says yes first."

"Thank you so much Charlie it means the world to me."

So Edward and Charlie Finally meet and OMG A PROPOSAL IS ON THE WAY! ARGGGGGHHHHHHHH SO EXCITING! Now all I have to do is find out the perfect was for him to propose to her. Hmmmmmmm. Anyways I REALLLLYYYY hope you are enjoying this story I love you all Sally out.
OH and PS I hope I didn't make Edward sound too girly and also I am wondering how all of you guys would feel if I did another chapter in Edward's POV later on in the story.
