Marcus and Shaundi had been walking the seedy streets of steel port for a half hour since landing from there escape. They were now looking for a vehicle.

"there that one" Shaundi said as she pointed to a run down two door beater.

"uh..no i'd like something that doesn't look like it will fall apart while driving" Marcus replied looking around some more "here this one" as he walked towards a dark grey SUV and smashed the window and unlocked the vehicle.

Shaundi got in as Marcus jump started the ignition and pulled out of the parking spot.

"so what are we gonna do" Shaundi asked as she looked around for a cell phone

"well first we need to get a hold of pierce and then find a place to hold up." he said. "so you got any idea of were the hell we are" he asked as he kept driving

"sorta, just drive it'll come back to me."

They drove until they found a friendly fire and decided to get some weapons for when they ran into more morning star thugs.

"Why are we here" Shaundi asked

"I need a gun i feel naked without one" Marcus said as he opened the door

Inside the store was mostly empty only a few people seemed to be wandering the store. Behind the counter was a seedy looking man who was watching Shaundi with smug grin as his eyes looked over her assets. She just ignored this and followed Marcus as he browsed the guns.

Marcus was looking over the guns and found one he liked, he picked up a sliver 45. with a custom slide and grip.

"Oh look at this eh" Marcus said looking like a kid on christmas.

"It's a gun, besides how are you gonna pay for it" she asked crossing her arms across her chest.

"What about your back up stash" Marcus asked as he knew that she had a knack for hiding small stashes on her in case of emergencies normally he would just steal what ever it is he needed but now was not a good time to draw attention.

"Really you want to use the emergency stash" she asked while Marcus just raised an eyebrow to which Shaundi sighed.

"Fine here" she said as she fished a small roll of bills from her tight cleavage which caused a few customers to stare which produced a harsh glare from her.

"Thanks love" Marcus took the money and went to pay for the gun once at the counter the seedy looking man behind the counter was still looking over Shaundi to which Marcus noticed but ignored it. Shaundi on the other hand just gave the seedy little man an ice-cold glare.

Once they had paid they returned to the car. "Hey i was just thinking, i think one of my ex's lives here and i think he's been outta town for a while so i guess we could use his place." Shaundi said as she looked to Marcus who was stashing his new gun.

"that sounds good we should let the crew know, you here from Pierce yet."

"ya I already offered it to him and the boys." Shaundi replied as she sent a text to Pierce.

"alright then lets head there and wait for the others" Marcus said as he started the car and pulled out on the street.

Ex's Apartment

Shaundi used the hidden key to her ex's studio apartment and unlocked the door Marcus walked in and looked around the place. It was quite large, there was a large bed against the far wall and a kitchen that ran along the left side of the apartment and a couch and TV sat in the middle of the room. It was fairly well furnished.

"so where exactly is your ex" Marcus asked

"huh...oh he's in Europe for a year, so we'll have run of the place" Shaundi said as she walked over to the couch and sat staring blankly. Marcus noticed the look and sighed as he went to sit with her.

"hey, whats wrong" he asked as he put his arm around her reassuringly.

"I..I still can't believe he's gone" she said as she closed her eyes as they began to sting with unshed tears. As the events of the day started to sink in. "That could have been you...how many more of us are going to die." she rested her head against his shoulder as they sat there for a few moments of unbroken silence before Marcus spoke.

"listen no else is gone die, we're gonna get the rest of the crew together and then were gonna find Loren." He said quietly

He seems far to calm about this. Shaundi thought. Accepting his words she let out a ragged sigh as she rained in her emotions for the moment. "It's late we should get some sleep, Pierce and the others will be here tomorrow."

She walked over towards the bed and was followed by Marcus. Shaundi not wanting to feel alone that night moved as close as she could to him as he held her tight and soon both drifted to sleep.

The next morning Marcus and the others were trying to find a way to get at the syndicate but there main problem was not having the firepower to do it so Marcus suggested raiding the national guard armoury. Both Pierce and Shaundi looked at him like he sprouted a second head.

"you want to pick a fight with the military!" Pierce said in a louder tone

"ya, I don't think i like this plan" Shaundi replied

"come on guys whats the worst that could happen" Marcus said with a smirk

"getting shot comes to mind" Shaundi said

"well you could always give burke a call i'm sure he'd give you a loan" Marcus said trying to get a rise out of her. It worked a bit too well

"not funny" she muttered as she glared at him.

"So how we gonna do this?" Pierce asked bringing the focus back to the plan.

Marcus studied the map that was laid out on the table in front of them.

"well we need to get to here so why don't me and Shaundi come in from the main gate and work are way from there. Then you and the rest of the crew can come in by chopper and load up the weapons."

Shaundi and pierce looked at each other with skeptical looks

"i know how it sounds but a frontal attack is what they least expect besides who'd be stupid enough to attack a military base." Marcus finished smirking as he went to get ready.

It took a couple hours to get things set up but now Marcus and Shaundi were sitting in a stolen car they had acquired for the job waiting for the signal that Pierce was ready.

"I still think this is a bad idea" Shaundi said as she checked her gun again.

"I think you've said that already" he replied as he looked through binoculars at the main gate. But before they could continue they heard Pierce

"yo we're all set here"

"finally Pierce, alright were going in now don't leave us hanging"

"do i ever?"

with that said Marcus floored the gas and charged the main gate, the guards at the gate were taken by surprise as the car took down the main gate and slammed into a near by truck.

"well that went better then i thought" but soon there was an alarm blaring out over the speakers and more guards poured out of the buildings.

"well, fuck" he said as he put the car in reverse and cranked the wheel to cause the car to flip around.

Shaundi was shooting at the guards to keep there heads down as they sped towards the armoury.

Marcus steered the car into the gated yard just outside the armoury building and smashed through the gate once through they both jumped out and began making there way to the building there were only a few guards in the building itself.

"well this isn't so bad" Marcus said as he leaned out of cover to drop the last few guards. Once the building was cleared they looked around to see what they could steal. There were dozens of crates of all sorts of weaponry in the back. On a table were a large number of smaller items that looked like laptops.

"what the hell you make of these eh" Marcus asked as he held one up to Shaundi

"they look like UAV drone controls we should use them" She said as she finished looking threw the crates.

"UAV drone controls... How the hell do you know what UAV controls look like"

"does it really matter right now just use the damn things we got company" she said as she pointed to the front of the warehouse where more guards were coming in with riot shields.

Marcus quickly grabbed one of the controls and ran to cover where Shaundi was returning fire at the advancing soldiers. Marcus grabbed his radio to signalled Pierce.

"Pierce where the hell are you were in a bit of a tight spot down here" bullets pinged off the surrounding crates as the gunfire increased.

"I'm coming up on the base now hold on"

"If i die here i'll kill him" Shaundi yelled over the gunfire

"I still think we need to talk about your knowledge of uav controls" Marcus yelled over the gunfire as he reloaded.

"oh shut up!" she replied which caused him to smirk as he downed another two guardsmen

looking around at the steadily worsening situation before turning to her. "okay, you were right this was a bad idea" he said as he shot a guard that had tried to get the jump on them from the catwalks above.

Shaundi gave him a glare of frustration "your just realizing this now!" she said as she reloaded her gun but before Marcus could reply the sound of helicopters was heard which drew the attention of the guards who turned to see five choppers approaching fast and low.

Before they could react the choppers gunners opened fire and cut down the guards as they tried to find cover.

With the weapons and a very large bomb they had discovered loaded on the choppers everyone jumped on as they made a quick getaway there was an intense chase to shake the police and military choppers that followed but soon they had lost all pursuit and found a place to stash the goods.

Apartment

"well that wasn't so bad" Marcus said as he walked into the apartment helping Pierce haul in one of the weapons crates and crack it open.

"ya sure considering we almost got are asses shot off back there" he said as he inspected a shotgun

"so what's next" Shaundi said as she closed the door and walked over to the table where the two men were laying out the weapons.

"what's next is we find Loren and you head back to still water".

"What!... fuck no this is my fight too i'm not gonna sit this out just because you think its too dangerous" she said defiantly as she grabbed a rifle off the table.

"Girl, you don't get dirty let us do the heavy lifting." Pierce said as he loaded a handgun.

Marcus sighed and set the last of the weapons down on the table he knew she would not agree to go back to still water easily but it had to be done it was gonna get bloody and someone needed to keep the business running. But he also couldn't help but feel that maybe she had a point. She has improved in skill since the days of fighting Ultor and she did spend a lot of time with Gat learning to handle a gun better, maybe she was ready to do more.

"alright, you can stay for now though help pierce organize the crew and find out what you can about syndicate operations around town." Marcus said as he loaded a gun and handed it to her.

With a smile of relief she took the gun from him and gave him a quick kiss to show her own appreciation.

"you got it" she said as she left to go talk to the rest of the crew downstairs.

Pierce who had be watching the whole conversation just shook his head at Marcus and went back to sorting the weapons.

Marcus just shrugged "what" but pierce didn't reply. Marcus looked over the newly acquired gear and sent Pierce to go get the rest of the crew ready tomorrow was gonna be a big day.
