Hello kittens! How are you on this fine day?
I am telling you this now, this is a short chapter. S-h-o-r-t chapter. I believe that this, in the end will help me write longer chapters. So please, enjoy!
Hours seamed to go by like minutes and the meeting ended shortly after the three hour mark. They discussed the topic of a new education method that will carry out the next year. I don't believe it will work if you ask me, thankfully no one does and I start to make my way out in silence. Three hours...that was all? It didn't seem that long, then again... I was only paying half attention. I wonder what Ciel is doing? He's probably still asleep I bet... Why was I so stupid in not letting him come?
The noise level in the room tenfolds as the staff and board began to converse with one another. I sigh inwardly at the stupid decision I made and gather my things. I want to go home...I want to see my Ciel.
"Mr. Michaelis!" A voice beckons for me just as I am about to leave the room, I turn around to face the possessor. His hair is blonde, which flows down to his shoulders. His skin pale, eyes a fascinating color of purple, his body clothed in a suit of white.
"May I help you?" I asked the man as politely as I could.
"My name is Druitte." He said to me, "I am head master of our school in London, England." London? So could this be the reason why our meeting was held here instead of where I wished it was?
"I see."
"We're lacking a replacement French teacher since our first one disappeared without a trace."
"Without a trace?" I said to him in shock and disbelief.
"Well, that's what I say." He replied, "The truth is she left to pursue her dreams." His eyes practically sparkled as he spoke.
"I see." I said, my attitude turned back to normal.
"Indeed," he said back with a smile plastered, "Any who, that's why I am talking to you now. I know that your teaching is quite superior and we could use someone with that caliber. So what do you say? Come with me and teach in London once school starts?" London? London England, that actually sounds perfect. Ciel claims his ancestors come from England.
"What's the pay?" I asked and he chuckled at me in reply, as if he were expecting me to ask that.
"Well, this academy pays more then at the academy you work at now." He smiled, "But there is one thing." I remained silent, "If you come to London, you'll have to come by yourself. No pets, spouses, partners, nothing."
"Why is that?" I try not to sound confused but I'm failing miserably. It was the shock and anger I hid.
"Because we want you to interact with the city and the people in the area. We know from past experiences that foreigners tend to stay in their homes if they already have something inside waiting for them." Ciel... "It's your choice Mr. Michaelis."
"How long do I have until I have to tell you my decision?" I asked.
"You have until the end of next month." He gave me his business card, "Here's my number. Call me when you've made up your mind." I grasp his card in between my fingertips.
"I will.." He smiles at me before heading out of the conference room. I put the card in my jacket pocket and sigh. How am I going to tell Ciel about this?
...
The time had escaped my grasp, the sun was still set high into the sky but yet I was sitting trapped inside the car. I had returned to the hotel an hour ago, but I did not move, my body practically frozen from the outside.
Why should I be acting this way? The answer is so obvious, I'm not leaving the one I love! In that moment I gained the ability to move my hand. Well now that wasn't so bad...I knew this from the start that I'm staying where I am. I'd rather have him then money because without him, I'd have nothing. After having my internal conflict I stepped out and away from the car and rushed to my hotel room to pack. I have a kitten that needs me.
Ok, I can explain why the chapters are short and not all great... I'm writing two stories at once, but my brain won't allow me to work on them at the same time. I have to write one story first...if that makes sense.. I have already posted the story on FanFiction and it would mean the world to me if you read it... Thank you. :)
It's called The Serenade of the Devil.
